Room and bed was the best in the Caribbean! Beach and pool area were excellent. Staff...especially the front desk staff we outstanding. I arrived late Thursday evening Aug 27th...unfortunately I did not get the young lady's name at the desk; however, she was SUPER helpful and polite...best experience we've had in the Caribbean...and I travel there 8-10 times per year for work.

Atlantis- amazing resort with something for every age

“Amazing resort, so much to do and see and something for all ages, it was super simple to get between properties with the shuttles, the pools were amazing and the beaches were clean and easy to get to. The most memorable part is all of the sea life in the aquariums, we got up early to watch the shark and stingray feedings which was amazing. The only big qualm I have is the availability of affordable food options every meal was 100$ +. Another item of note is there is no gift shop/ sundries at Cove, you had to walk to the next property Reef to get bottled water or snacks. The rooms had great sound dampening and even though there was construction going on it was not disruptive. Overall, we would return to Atlantis, but would stay at the royal as it is more centrally located and had better amenities. Also, take the time to. Check out the straw market, the locals are lovely and you get unique hand made souvenirs. The best service and dining experience I have to give a shoutout to Carmine’s and Seafire for the most amazing Meals and staff. The value was definitely worth a repeat visit.”

“We stayed at The Cove, supposedly one of the most luxurious and exclusive parts of Atlantis. Unfortunately, the entire experience felt like a very polished and extremely expensive scam.
Atlantis is exceptionally good at marketing. It presents The Cove as top-end luxury and the wider resort as a world-class destination. The reality is an ageing, tired and aggressively monetised resort that charges extraordinary prices while delivering inconsistent service, visibly worn facilities and poor overall value.
The Cove accommodation may be positioned at the top of the Atlantis range, but guests spend much of their holiday using the same shared restaurants, attractions, pathways and facilities as the rest of the resort. Too much of that shared environment looks old, poorly maintained or simply exhausted. The scale remains impressive, but scale is not luxury.
Food and drink prices are absurd. High headline prices are then inflated further by tax, compulsory service charges and continued expectations around additional tipping. Service charges appear to be treated as an entitlement rather than something connected to the quality of service actually provided. The result is a constant sense that Atlantis is looking for the next opportunity to extract money from a captive guest.
Service was inconsistent and frequently nowhere near the standard justified by the price. At this level, guests should not have to accept indifferent service while simultaneously being charged automatic gratuities and encouraged to tip again.
The clearest example was Bahamian Nights at Poseidon’s Table. Atlantis advertised a premium themed buffet featuring Bahamian food, “tropical cocktails” and “live music.” We attended as a party of eight across two families.
There was no live music during our visit. No band, singer, musician or live performer of any description. The restaurant played recorded background music through its speakers. I filmed the experience extensively, so this is not a misunderstanding or a difference of opinion: the advertised live entertainment was simply not there.
The reference to “tropical cocktails” also turned out to mean one included cocktail per person. That restriction only became clear after we had sat down and specifically asked what was included. We had effectively paid a premium for an ordinary buffet, one drink and a CD playing in the background.
That experience summed up Atlantis perfectly: impressive promotional language, premium pricing, important limitations revealed only after purchase and an underwhelming product once the customer has committed.
For comparison, we left Atlantis for one night and stayed at The Ocean Club, a Four Seasons Resort. It was materially more expensive, but it represented far better value. The environment, maintenance, service and hospitality were consistent with the price. It felt like a genuinely premium hotel.
That comparison confirmed that our objection is not simply that luxury resorts in the Bahamas are expensive. We are willing to pay premium prices where the quality justifies them. The Ocean Club did. Atlantis did not.
At The Ocean Club, we paid more but felt properly looked after. At Atlantis, we repeatedly felt processed, upsold and overcharged.
There are aspects children may enjoy, particularly the water attractions and marine habitats. However, the existence of attractions does not excuse poor value, ageing infrastructure, inflated prices or advertising experiences that are not delivered as described.
For us, Atlantis was not luxury. It was a giant, tired commercial machine using powerful marketing, captive-resort economics and compulsory charges to extract as much as possible from each guest.
The Cove charges luxury prices. The resort experience does not justify them. On the evidence of our stay, the whole place felt like a scam.”

“After more than 15 years of visiting Atlantis, usually twice a year with my family, I never thought I would be writing a review like this. I have also brought my company, GetMeHealthcare, to Atlantis multiple times over the years, spending hundreds of thousands of dollars between corporate events and personal trips. Unfortunately, this was easily our most disappointing experience.
We paid a premium to stay at The Cove and specifically expected the Lapis-level experience we booked. Instead, our room had no balcony and honestly felt like an average hotel room—not what I would consider a luxury experience for the price we paid. The Lapis experience had also been moved downstairs, and the entire experience was far below what we had come to expect.
The biggest disappointment was that the main Cove pool was closed, and we were not properly notified before our trip. This is a major part of why my wife and I stay at The Cove. We actually hired and paid for a nanny specifically so we could spend time together enjoying the Cove pool and amenities while our children were being cared for. We spent additional money planning our vacation around this, only to arrive and discover that the experience we paid for was not available.
The kids' pool experience wasn't much better. We paid for a cabana, yet when we needed assistance, almost no one seemed able to help. One person was extremely nice and genuinely tried to assist us, which we appreciated, but at one point we were literally told to walk around and find a woman we didn't know. That is incredibly frustrating when you're paying for a cabana at a resort that positions itself at this level.
The food menu at the kids' pool was also very disappointing and poorly suited for a family/kids' pool area. We heard several other guests around the pool discussing the same issue, so we certainly weren't alone.
What bothered me most was the lack of communication and concern. If we had been told beforehand that the Cove pool would be closed and that the Lapis experience would be significantly different, we could have made an informed decision about whether staying at The Cove was worth the premium. Instead, we arrived after spending considerable money on the room, nanny, travel, cabana, food, and everything else that comes with a family vacation, only to find that major parts of the experience we specifically came for were unavailable.
When I asked whether anything could be done, including an upgrade or some assistance to improve our stay, I was basically told nothing could be done.
After 15+ years of loyalty, countless family vacations, and bringing substantial corporate business to Atlantis, I expected much better. This wasn't about simply wanting an upgrade—it was about receiving the experience we paid for and having someone show some concern when that experience wasn't delivered.
Atlantis and The Cove have given my family many great memories over the years, which makes writing this even more disappointing. Unfortunately, after this experience and the way our concerns were handled, I do not plan on returning.
For anyone considering paying the premium to stay at The Cove, I strongly recommend confirming in advance exactly which pools, restaurants, Lapis amenities, and other facilities will actually be available during your stay.”
Over 2 hour late check in, leaking sink, not adults only

“Check in was absolutely horrible. For a well traveled group we've had enough experiences to know sometimes things can happen and/or run behind. We were told to go get food at 4:05 after about 30 mins attempting to check in (so finishing touches can be done on the room ). We went to claudios came back around 6pm. We were then told the same thing by a different team member. Too add to it we were given a tone and an attitude. A manager was called from the back however she seemed annoyed. At this point I was expressing how this was a terrible start to my birthday. Considering I booked months in advance and others were also able to get into their room not only on time but early. I was embarrased and dissappointed. I wanted to cancel and just fly back home. I was assured they'd make it up. We were denied late check out when my friend asked. Which is funny considering we didn't get into our rooms until almost 3 hours late.”

Ladies Trip to The Cove

“Beautiful property and wonderful service. We had an issue with The Cove going under renovation the weekend we were visiting. I hosted 10 ladies in the top level of The Cove with Lapis Lounge benefits. We had a 2 bedroom suite and 1 additional room. Bathrooms are amazing, plenty of space. My issue is the Lapis Lounge closed for a day to move to a new location. We had planned on mid-day snacks (diet cokes), happy hour drinks and snacks and desserts but had to purchase them elsewhere on the property. I had to ask for compensation and received $150 off my bill, that didn't cover 11 of us - especially as I had paid for the upgraded room. Food and beverages are pricey - glass of wine $22, frozen drinks $40. I was hoping to cover some of those costs with the upgrade, but did not.
Also, I had reserved a beach cabana, but with the renovations that reservation for $1300/day was lost. When we determined I didn't have one, they booked me at the Colonnade pool cabanas (very nice) for a new price of $1700 and told me I needed two for my group. Once on site, the waitress asked why we had two, there were 4 loungers, a table for 4 a day bed and a sofa. They would not change my reservation of give me some type of compensation. All in all we had a nice trip, but I was sponsoring and spent more money that originally intended to host my group. We ate at Carmines and the steak house. Food was good, I ordered family style and we had plenty. 1 salad and three entrees for Carmines fed my group of 11. At the steakhouse I ordered three steaks and they cut them up for the group with three sides it was more than enough.”

“This is a 5 star resort from every aspect. The only drawback is food cost, $135 for breakfast for 2 and just simple meal.the beach was clean and water very clear. The pool area was clean and very nice. The casino was nice and lots of variety of things to do. The market place has lots restaurants and shops that are excellent. Yet the food is very expensive and plan to spend $169 a night for 2 persons and even more.p”
Luxury Prices, Motel-Level Service
2/10
GigiSaif · NONE · 2026-07-20
“We stayed at The Cove, which is marketed as Atlantis’ luxury hotel with all-suite accommodations and premium service. Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite.
We arrived at 4:00 PM but didn’t receive our room until around 5:30 PM, only to find it extremely dirty. The room was outdated, the furniture was ripped, there was sand throughout the carpet, and the balcony was so filthy we couldn’t even use it. We reported the cleanliness issues immediately, but nothing was done.
Housekeeping was completely inconsistent—some days we received towels and bottled water, other days we didn’t. Turn-down service rarely happened unless we repeatedly called, and even then it was often ignored.
The front desk was even worse. They ignored our complaints, never apologized, and failed to resolve any of the issues we raised. To make matters worse, when we lost our room key, they handed us a replacement without asking for identification or verifying the reservation name, which is a serious security concern.
We were also shocked that the kids’ club requires an additional fee. We’ve stayed at luxury resorts around the world, and this is the first one that charges extra for such a basic family amenity.
The Cove charges luxury prices and promises luxury service, but our experience was far below those standards. Save your money and stay somewhere else. We will never return.”
Great.

“After a long day of traveling, and arriving at The Cove in Nassau, Bahamas. We encountered the check in desk staff as very dismissive and not wanting to check us in. After waiting over 30 minutes just to check in, we get to our room and find that the room is not clean. We had 2 rooms and both were not clean. The Toliet in one room had blood on the toilet seat, sheets in both rooms on the bed were dirty, room smelled. We called for room service and after an hour of trying to wait to go to the bathroom, I cleaned it myself with Lysol wipes I had. After that we were hungry went downstairs to the Fish and I ordered the pork chop and they brought me a plate of fat, no meat. Some items were sold out on the menu?. Like what?. Throughout our stay the chaos continued. The stay was not enjoyable to what we paid. Staff are very rude and they charge you gratuity and give you horrible service. So why would they do anything different. I promise I would never return to vacation again.”
Relativity of Price Premium to Service

Scenic47603365994 · NONE · 2026-07-19
“My rating is tied directly to the amount of money the traveler will spend to the quality of service and food coupled with the overall experience.
Bahamas is expensive to get to. Accommodations at Atlantis are not commensurate to the cost. The hidden charges will drive the casual traveler to madness. I travel frequently and I was surprised at the charges beyond the resort fee. Every meal has. A forced gratuity added whether you get good service or not; or whether you dine in or take out. It is ludicrous. A culture of entitlement that leads to mediocre service.
The staff is a hit or miss. Again, paying a premium price for accommodations to receive mediocre service.
Perhaps, if expectations by the traveler are low and traveler is accustomed to overpaying then Atlantis is paradise.
Just keep in mind the relationship between the cost paid and what you are getting in return.”
