Well - what a fantastic all inclusive place to stay in Barbados! We arrived very early having just left a cruise on the Royal Clipper (also fantastic!), expecting just to be able to drop our bags off. We received a lovely welcome, were sat down with a glass of lemonade, and checked in. We received an apology that our room wasn't ready (it was 9.30am!), but we were welcome to make full use of all the facilities including drinks, lunch etc. By 11am we were told our room was ready! What a difference from UK hotels! The room was beautiful - an ocean view with a lovely comfortable balcony, and plenty of space and storage.
The food was brilliant - plenty of choice, and if you didn't fancy what was on the menu, the staff would do their best to prepare something suitable. Champagne (Piper Heidsieck) breakfasts, lovely light lunches and brilliant dinners. Almost all drinks were included in the all inclusive so we had plenty of brilliant cocktails, and lovely wine!
The facilities were great - plenty of sunbeds around the terrace, and although the little beach has been more or less swept away, we could get down at low tide for a wander in the sand. The hotel is over 3 floors - no lift, but our cases were all taken up for us, so it didn't really matter!
The staff were all very professional but very friendly - everyone welcomed us with a smile no matter when or where we were.
Also look out for The House house cat Panda who wanders around in true Caribbean style!
The hotel is small, so you feel well looked after.
The only slight downside (apart from having to leave!) was that it was only when checking out we discovered the QR code that brought up the daily menus and activities - we fed back to Reception that they should bring this to guest's notice as they check in, as it would have been really useful! Apart from that, we couldn't fault the hotel, the facilities, the location and the staff - we can't wait to come back!

“Visited The House for the second time, travelled with my parents and then husband arrived for the last 10 days of our holiday. As my father’s mobility isn’t the best, the house was the hotel we needed. We both had ground floor rooms which led onto the pool area, with the ocean view.
The rooms were more like having your own villa with such easy access to the pool, restaurant and of course the bar areas.
As soon as we arrived we were greeted with such smiles it made our hearts dance. The staff and management team make this the place to go, they cannot do enough for you. All of the staff laugh and smiles with each other which assures you it’s a great place to work. The food was great although we chose to eat out a few times to see the real Barbados, but always rushed back to get a drink in the bar with other guests. We had such a great mix of guests which again made it fell we were at home. And not to mention Panda the cat. Jason you have a great team with you and cannot wait to come back soon. Thank you all for making our holiday special, and thank you for looking after my parents. See you soon xxxx”

“My wife and I have just arrived back home from spending ten nights at the House.
I had read a couple of bad reviews prior to our arrival and was a bit concerned.
I am so pleased to say that I needn't had worried!! The Hotel is excellent and what makes it, is the amazing , fantasic staff who are awesome.Nothing is too much.I have never been on a holiday where all the guests mingled, joined in with each other and it was just like one big family.... basically down to the hotel and staff. It was a shame the beach had been washed away partially...but that is nature, nothing you can do about it.Breakfast, lunch and evening meals wera all very good with plenty of choice, although we did eat out at night on occassions, but nothing to do with the Hotel!!!.There was evening entertainment with very good singers.
The water taxi is like being on a small trip, and worth taking a ride. Our room was on the top floor with a view of the ocean and was perfect to rise and see the sunshine. It was very good in every aspect and worth paying the extra.
Its not fair to mention any one member of staff as they all made our holiday ..Thank you and well done!!
This was a holiday to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and we will not forget.
Oh...and the bar is a great central meeting point with something for everybody!!
Go for it!!”
Disappointing.

“Here now. Meeting another couple. Birthday celebration. Booked over a year ago. Requested adjacent rooms 60 days in advance and they couldn’t figure it out. VERY small resort, beach non-existent. Out of several items on the limited menu, they are out of several at 12:30 PM. For $8,800 USD for 5 nights, to say I’m disappointed is an understatement.”

“This place is amazing! From the time you step out of the cab there is someone to greet you. The check in process was flawless and had someone to carry our bags to our room and make sure we were settled. The atmosphere was so relaxing every day and staff was so attentive. If you come and get the chance to meet Denise, TJ, or Quasi you are very lucky, great people. The food was so good although if you have the unfortunate opportunity to meet Nadia, don’t worry, you don’t need a reservation, they will feed you whenever you get there. The beach is amazing and the pool area so clean. It is a very quiet place, no crazy music, but the sound of the ocean is so beautiful!”

“It was with a little trepidation that we headed to The House for a much-needed escape. Recent reviews had been quite negative, but there is a lot to love about the adults-only hotel.
Our room -- third floor Ocean Front Junior Suite -- was modern, clean and with a stunning view. The bed was so comfy, and we enjoyed our peaceful oasis overlooking the ocean, with some incredible sunsets.
We were really impressed by the food -- again, I wasn't expecting much as recent reviews had been quite damning -- but the lunch and dinner menus changed daily, and featured an interesting variety of options which were all fresh and delicious. There was a Caribbean buffet one night and a BBQ on the Saturday lunchtime we left -- all great! The breakfast buffet is also good.
The real highlight -- as others have said -- is the staff. Honestly, I have never stayed anywhere else with such lovely people working there! All of them so warm and friendly. Our thanks go to each one for looking after us. They really made our holiday.
There are a few niggles. General service seems to be a bit hit and miss -- some mornings we were asked if we'd like to book a table for dinner; other days we weren't asked; other guests were asked if they'd like to book tables for the whole week (this might sound unimportant, but the restaurant does fill up and one night we didn't get to eat until after 10pm). We did get our complimentary massage (with was fabulous!); other guests didn't. Apparently there are options for a la carte menus, picnics and afternoon tea, but that info is hidden on a shelf around a corner in the lobby which we didn't spot until the day before we left. There is zero information in the bedroom -- a pack with details on the spa facilities, meal times, water taxi info, the dine around scheme, water sports, etc, surely is a must. Also, I'm not sure to what extent the hotel was renovated, but there were several big blotches on our bedroom wall (we did mention this and an attempt was apparently made to paint them in, but we couldn't see any difference), as well as flaking ceilings on the walkway leading to the rooms, and badly chipped and flaking outside lounge furniture in the common areas -- unfortunately not reflective of a 5-star hotel.
That said, though, we quickly eased into a relaxed way of being at The House, and had a great holiday.”
The nicest hotel we've stayed at

“We stayed at The House late January 2026. From arrival to departure we were made to feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. The room was lovely with a large bedroom, a sizeable bathroom with walk in shower and a bigger than usual balcony from which we had a gorgeous sea view.
The food was always top class and my wife and I can honestly say that some of the meals rank amongst the best we've ever had. The sea food in particular was terrific and was always cooked to perfection.
For a boutique hotel with only a small number of rooms (under 40 I think) we were surprised that it was all-inclusive - we've never been all-inclusive before as this tends to be something offered only in larger hotels which we don't really like.
The hotel is right on the beach and I found the snorkelling - particularly to the right hand side of the beach to be really good. I saw dozens of different types fish including a disgruntled looking porcupine fish and shoals of blue tang.
Even though by 9am a lot of the sun loungers had been taken (some people put towels out at 6:30 believe it or not) we never had a problem getting a couple overlooking the sea.
My wife and I can honestly say that this was the nicest hotel we'd ever stayed at. We've stayed at swankier places but never felt so relaxed as we did at The House. To top it all we saw a humming bird darting around by the pool the day we arrived - WOW :o)”

“Our experience at this hotel was one of the best we have had. We have stayed at 5 star hotels throughout the world and have rarely had as wonderful service as we had at the house. The people were simply amazing. We were having a difficult time with missing luggage and the staff took complete care of of us. Patricia makes the most AMAZING BREAKFAST! If you like mushrooms, these are to DIE for. Andrew made us feel welcome every time we sat down. He made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. Including a hug when my luggage yet again did not arrive. The food overall was amazing. The rooms are expansive and comfortable. The ocean view is worth it to listen to the crashing waves and sit on the day bed on the balcony. The hotel is small and perfect. Reception helped us with everything from cabs to shopping to parting us have late checkout to take care of some last minute issues. The pool area is small but still we were able to get chairs. Really though, it’s about the amazing people. Everyone at the house was WONDERFUL. I can’t say enough things about this perfect little place and would highly recommend it if you are visiting Barbados!!”

“We last stayed at The House pre-covid and before arriving had some concerns about the Marriot takeover having read some of the previous reviews. We are just back from a 10 day stay at The House and I’m pleased to say that we had a delightful holiday. As with all hotel stays it is the staff that make or break it and the staff here make it. They are gracious, engaging, helpful and fun. It is important to note that this is a relaxed boutique beachfront hotel so if you want a formal, efficient as clockwork, hushed environment then this is not for you. If you want Michelin standard food go elsewhere.
The rooms are recently refurbished, a good size and well appointed though lack a little Caribbean panache. All inclusive includes a good selection of cocktails, spirits, wines, Piper champagne with breakfast with French sparkling wine the rest of the time. The bar is in theory open until 2am though the latest we managed was 11.30pm. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choice, lunch and supper are either off a menu or a grill/buffet and are simple, tasty and offer a good variety. The beach is not very wide but with the sunbeds around the pool and those on the beach there are plenty for everyone.
One criticism – bar snacks like peanuts, crisps etc were not offered but were available if you asked and while lots of alcohol was included sparking water was an extra. This felt a little mean given the cost to stay here. The restaurant tables could also do with a bit of decoration, colourful flowers possibly?
Thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome. We had a great holiday and will be back next year.”

“We stayed at the House for 10 nights (two couples) and had the most amazing time. We all loved the small, intimate, peaceful hotel, made extra special by the wonderful, attentive staff.
We simply cannot understand previous, less favourable reviews; we recognise none of those comments.
The entire hotel was spotless, the rooms were so comfortable, and the food was outstanding. Huge variety of options for breakfast, which changed daily (Patricia at the egg station is amazing), Lunch and dinner were à la carte, apart from a few great BBQ lunches with numerous salads and sides. No dishes were repeated for the whole 10 days, and none of us ever had a meal that wasn’t delicious and beautifully presented.
The pool and beach area is beautiful, and the bar service there was great. The beach is quiet and pretty, and a large area was clear of rocks/coral, making swimming in the sea so lovely. We also had great cocktails throughout our stay and several accompanied with stunning sunsets.
The best part of the hotel is the staff. They are so friendly and helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble. They constantly remembered little details about what the four of us liked in relation to food and drink, and glasses were never empty.
We were very sad to leave The House, we had the most lovely, relaxing stay, and next time we are in Barbados we will definitely stay at The House again.”

“OUTSTANDING! We had the most wonderful stay at The House. The staff were exceptional and so friendly. Wade & Dennis made us amazing cocktails, it was lovely getting to know them. The waiting staff were all so lovely & Andrew really took time out to chat with guests with lots of laughter! Food was exceptional, we did venture to a few of the other hotels in the chain for lunch/dinner but mainly ate at The House as just so so good. We had a junior seafront suite which was perfect and the sunsets this side of the island are incredible. The mangement were first class, anything asked about was dealt with promptly and at the end of our stay we took time out to meet with one of them to thank them & praise all their amazing team who made our stay so wonderful. We will most definitely be returning to The House in the future.”

“We had the most wonderful week! He sun shone, the hotel room was spacious, clean and had loads of storage space, with a wonderful sea view balcony and the most awesome sunsets! Service was superb….everyone as welcoming and responsive, making you feel like royalty, and anticipating your every need….with cocktails being delivered to you on the beach without even being asked! The food a 5 star, à la carte and delicious…a real treat! We used the gym at Treasure Beach (a 5 minute walk) and took the boat to other resorts to enjoy lunch or a drink….but loved ‘The House’ for its ambience, adult-only atmosphere and sophistication”

“My first visit to this hotel, usually stay at the Fairmont, but as a Bonvoy member, I used points vs paying $1,100 a night all-inclusive. The resort was small, but nice. The staff were so nice, friendly and happy to help. Breakfast had tons of choices, as well the dinner menu changed nightly, which at an all-inclusive doesn't happen often. The pool was beachfront and the water was warm. Qwesi, the pool attendant/waiter was incredible, he made the stay. On the negative side, my 3 night stay, I didn't have a functioning room phone, and the TV on 2 of the 3 nights didn't work. They came to try to fix it, but the maintenance worker admitted they often have problems with the internet/phone/tv. I did raise this issue multi times to hotel management, finally Marriott contacted me and gave me 25k points for my troubles. Considering I had to spend close to 400,000 point on 3 nights, there offer to me is unsatisfactory. As i said to numerous Marriott people, "would you have your daughter or wife stay at a resort in another country, where in case of an emergency, your room phone doesn't work?!?"”

“Don’t believe the negative reviews! We were slightly worried reading some of the recent reviews but we had an amazing stay at The House. It’s a small intimate hotel, but so welcoming and the staff are amazing. Patricia on the egg station, Lisa, Andrew and all the other lovely staff made the holiday for us (plus, of course, Panda the House cat - what a cutie!). The food was of the highest quality and clearly a lot of thought put into it. We were there for 10 nights and the menus were different every day for lunch and dinner. Yes, the beach towels go out early, but we always found somewhere to sit together (and there were 4 of us). If we return to Barbados, we will definitely stay here again. We can also recommend QP Bistro for Sunday lunch and Lone Star for a sunset dinner. Thank you, The House ❤️”

“What truly sets this place apart are the staff. Every single member is friendly, attentive and warm. Jason and his team do a wonderful job in ensuring guests have a wonderful stay.
The rooms are well appointed with fabulous views, the food and drink selection is great, and the beach and pool area is lovely. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained.
We have stayed in several hotels on the Island over the years and I would certainly say The House ranks amongst the best which Barbados has to offer. 10/10”

“The rooms were clean and nicely appointed. Bar service was good, but apart from the breakfast, the food choice was limited and not good quality. This is , in my opinion, is at best a 4 star hotel, there was zero recognition of our Marriott Gold Elite membership, the numerous front desk staff gave the impression, that they couldn't be bothered. At £1200 per night, really not worth the money, you are best booking another non-exclusive hotel, and eating out, the food choice was that poor.. Will not be going back.”

“Lovely comfortable beds and the hotel was spotless. Lots of choice of drinks. Andrew one of the ambassadors was fantastic, couldn’t do enough for us. Stunning views from our balcony and it’s a nice peaceful hotel. Well stocked mini bar in the room. Location is great but due to previous storms the beach wasn’t very accessible towards Sandy Lane so we couldn’t do much walking in the beach.”
Hostel using marriott brand with Ritz prices

U3809WWchrism · Couples · 2025-12-23
“3 star hotel that would have been ok for less than a third of the price. Ritz Carleton Reserve and Ritz Yatch are actually cheaper.
While the restaurant staff made a good effort, the experience was ruined by the rude management. There was no recognition or honoring of being a bonvoy member let alone my Titanium elite status such as upgrades or 4pm checkout that Marriott claims is guaranteed. Upon checking in, the front desk wouldn't let is to our rooms until after 3pm. Notably it was about 40 percent occupied. I even offered to pay for an upgraded room and they refused. They gave us the worse room of the ocean view class. It was not a suite and just a regular room with the views partially blocked.
The attitude of management was spiteful that we were even customers. they did not explain anything about the property including that you can go to sister properties. There was no welcome or welcome gift.
There is no butler ambassador or 5 star service. We inquired about the welcome massage and told it wasn't available.
There is only one restaurant with a limited menu. We were pressured to have dinner at a set time of either 6 or 6:45, giving it more of an experience like staying at a hostel.
I did try their rum tasting but was a bit disappointed that no one new anything about their rums and the presentation was lacking.
Our room ran out of tissues, soap, and towels. We had to fight management to get anything including getting our room cleaned.
Overall this experience gave a very bad impression of Barbados and I don't plan on coming back. Punta Cana or Cancun has much better resorts with quality service at less than a third the price. You can sheer a sheep hundreds of times but only skin a sheep once.”
