“We had a very satisfying stay — the preserved nature and rich local culture truly touched our hearts and will keep bringing us back to Tonovo Bay. We will always support this resort.
We especially appreciated the involvement of the village in the traditional dance and prayer that the hotel upholds. It felt very meaningful and respectful, and we are grateful to the management and staff for maintaining this connection with the local community. All the staff went out of their way to make our trip wonderful, and our heartfelt thanks go to the entire team.
If you’re looking to truly relax, this is the perfect place — the hotel was very clean, quiet, and offered a beautifully serene view that made our stay even more peaceful and enjoyable.”

“What an amazing resort
Arrived at the gate greeted by name
And then treated to an authentic ritual with drums horns and a magical Bula
Food was the best we had to n Fiji and nothing was too much. The spa was great and the view breathtaking. Definitely recommend it. We had a private villa with its own pool and my name was is stones on the pool floor. It truly felt like home”

“This was the third and final resort we stayed at during our trip to Fiji and by far the best.
Nanuku is a beautiful resort and we’re going to miss it A LOT. We came with two kids 9 and 7.
• Our 2 bedroom garden villa was an amazing home base for us, the villa was extremely well equipped, clean, spacious and very comfortable. The pool was super warm and the kids spent a lot of time in it (it was a lot warmer than the main pool, which was more refreshing)
• The people here are fantastic, warm, kind, friendly - every single one of them. Of the three resorts we stayed at (Sofitel, Castaway) this is the one we will remember most for the staff
• The kids club and in particular our kids buddy, Esther, were incredible. Our kids are usually hit and miss with kids clubs, but they couldn’t wait to go at every chance they had. The crafts the activities, everything was incredible. The kids made wooden swords, baskets, tie die tshirts, coconuts shell and a lot more, all at no extra cost. The kids will remember this for their entire life
• The food was exceptional - some of the best meals I’ve ever had - highlight being the Butter Chicken
• They gave us a lovely welcome ceremony, which made us feel very special.
I’m sure I’ve missed a ton of things here - I would rarely call a stay flawless, but this one was.”

“My husband and I spent five nights here during our honeymoon in Australia/Fiji, and we are so glad we made the trek! Nanuku is in a more remote location than we realized — three hour drive from the airport in Nadi — so be prepared for that, but it is absolutely worth it. You are quite literally right up on the beach the entire time. We had a suite with a private plunge pool and incredible views, which was nice for when we wanted some privacy. The main pool is also great, especially with its swim-up bar! Our room was immaculately clean and very spacious. The best part of Nanuku, though, is easily the staff. Every single person we came in contact with was so kind, warm, inviting, and helpful. They truly love to immerse you in their culture and share the beauty of it. I was pleasantly surprised by the food here as well! Because of the remote nature, most people seem to eat every meal at the restaurant on-site, and we had a prepaid meal plan at the recommendation of our travel agent. It was nothing like any all-inclusive places I've been before; the food here was truly a highlight of my entire trip. Every meal was excellent quality with delicious flavors and SO many options, including new dinner menu nightly, and very large portions. We were here mainly to relax, but there are a lot of awesome on-site activities we saw people enjoying, like snorkeling and day trips to local islands and villages. Truly such a slice of paradise that you will be sad to leave!”
Worth the trek!

“We truly enjoyed our stay at this resort. The combination of the beauty of our suite with the pool area and live music really made our stay perfect. The staff were all friendly also and it just felt comfortable the whole time.
When we arrived which was Christmas morning, local carolers were singing in front of the restaurant which was such a beautiful experience. And the unique Fijian Christmas tree by the pool was beautiful by day and by night! Our villa with the private pool was designed beautifully to capture the perfect views with the gorgeous landscaping framing the space. One last benefit we found quite appealing was that any children onsite were accompanied by a resort nanny at all times. The nannies were such a pleasure to watch with the kids and they also kept the kids in check so adults with or without kids could have a relaxing vacation. We’d never seen this setup before but especially for parents, this would be a huge draw.
Someone told me the resort of owned by an American but I have to admit I’d have never guessed this due to the authentic feel. The other resorts close to the airport all just seemed so corporate like. This it was worth the trek across the island to get there!”

They took our hearts

“There are not enough adjectives in a thesaurus to describe this place. From the arrival ceremony to our departure, it was pure top shelf service.. This place needs to write a manual and give classes to other hotels and resorts on the island. Really, I'm not exaggerating. This place/people took our hearts. And, we gladly gave them. We had a single room with a king bed and the staff gladly brought in a "rollaway". The room was super comfortable with nice amenities like a popcorn maker. Our arrival was set with a bottle of champagne, fresh fruit, sweets. Our room had it's own dipping pool and easy access to the beach. We were given a "tour" of the room so we knew where all the switches were, additional bathroom amenities etc. Super quiet room. Myna bird noises are everywhere but that's typical of the islands. The breakfast buffet was beautifully presented. The pool was out of this world with a swim up bar and the view from the pool was indescribable. Such beauty here. We had a great adventure with snorkeling the reef. SO much coral and some pretty great fish. Many lion fish to see. I wish we had spent all of our time on Fiji at this resort but alas, they were fully booked except for our 1 night. We had our first experience on the island with the kava drink. That stuff is a true adventure! Thank you for Tom and Saki for the "talk story". And to Louise for the eye rolling behind their backs!! So many great people work here. I can't recommend this place more. Like I said, not enough adjectives.”

“We stayed here 5 nights after 5 weeks of hiking in New Zealand. It’s hard to get to (3 hours from Nadi) unless you fly to Suva (1 hour).
William runs a tight ship. By the 2nd day the staff knew our names. At 8:00 a.m. the staff gathers by the entrance to sing hymns and pray, something that should not be missed. They were so polite and friendly.
Despite being captive, the prices weren’t outrageous and the food varied every day.
William prefers you tip at the end of your stay vs. tipping the staff, which is what we did.
You can snorkel right off the resort. If you want to go a mile offshore you will see more and bigger fish for F$100 per person. We also booked sand bank, but found it not worth the F$700/person charge.”

“The staff at Nanuku embodied hospitality. The property was gorgeous. Staff was friendly and engaging. The water was clear and snorkeling for snorkeling. Our room was spacious, comfortable and the amenities were thoughtful. We were only able to stay one night due to the hotel being sold out the remainder of our visit to the island. We were sad to leave.”

“Nanuku Resort was World-class service from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful—spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed.
The service throughout the resort was truly amazing. Special shout-out to the bartenders, Watson and Peter, who were exceptional—attentive, fun, and incredibly skilled. They all went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We also got to meet amazing staff members; Vereti who planted a palm tree on the beach just for us and Amanu who would greet us with fresh coconut meat every morning.
The resort’s manager, Tomasi Turukawa, was simply the best. He was very professional, caring, and always present to ensure everything was perfect for all of the hotel guests. His genuine care truly set this resort apart.
Nanuku Resort sets the standard for hospitality. We can’t wait to come back.”

“Absolutely fantastic experience staying here for 5 nights on our honeymoon! We felt spoiled the entire stay. The staff were so friendly, greeting us by name every time they saw us. They really make you feel taken care of.
The rooms were GORGEOUS, even the cheapest Nanuku suite that we stayed in. I couldn't believe we got 2 floors, 2 balconies, a jetted tub and massive walk-in shower, a living room and private plunge pool all to ourself. The room is on top of a hill with gorgeous views of the beach and jungle - you feel like you're in a treehouse! I loved the unlimited amount of free soda in the mini fridge, popcorn maker and nespresso maker.
The snorkeling here is amazing. We just snorkeled the reef right by the hotel pool and were blown away. We thought it was even better than Tokoriki Island and definitely better than the Coral Coast. We saw all different colors of coral, hard and soft varieties, an eel, several lionfish and a sea turtle.
If you stay here, we highly recommend white water rafting the Upper Navua River with Rivers Fiji. It was hands down the best thing we did the entire 2 weeks we were in Fiji, and Nanuku is really close to the river you raft down.
One thing to note: There are a lot of families and kids, especially if you go during the holidays like we did, but we also met several other couples on their honeymoon and babymoon. It's a mix of everyone, which was great for us, but it's not going to provide the same experience as an adults only resort.
Thank you Nanuku for such an amazing trip! We will cherish the memories we made here forever.”
Lovely Five-Star Setting with a Few Considerations

“Nanuku Resort & Spa is a beautiful five-star property with an exceptional setting, elegant accommodations, and genuinely warm service. We highly recommend booking a beachfront bungalow with a private pool, as it significantly enhances privacy and overall enjoyment. During our stay, there were many children on property, which affected the atmosphere; I suggest checking New Zealand and Australian school holiday dates before booking. Dining was mixed—breakfast and lunch were consistently enjoyable, while dinner was inconsistent and expensive for the quality offered. I recommend Nanuku for travelers looking to combine luxury accommodations with the many adventure activities Pacific Harbour offers.”

“In general nice resort, but it's not delivering a premium experience which would you expect considering the price point of the hotel.
It looks mostly nice and if you don't mind our critiques, you might have a good experience anyway.
Usually I would credit 3/5, but the price was way to high for what is delivered so I deduct one point to the final 2/5.
Arrival:
I asked by email about getting cash at the hotel because several ATMs didn't provide cash when using Amex credit cards.
The next day (way too late) I got the response I can get cash at an ATM nearby the hotel. I explained in my email that ATMs didn't work for me. Why do you recommend using an ATM?It's no problem that most of the staff finished work late in the evening when we arrived. But don't announce a room mommy who will contact us the next day when there is none.
We appreciate the nice welcome amenity, but I told upfront that my wife is pregnant and therefore alkohol doesn't make sense. So it feels like a lack of attention to details to find alkohol as part of the welcome amenity.
General service:
We asked for 2 towels around 6pm as there were none. The employee left for a coiple of minutes and came back without towels, telling us to wait he will look for it. After a couple of minutes he came back again without towels and told us to wait a little longer he will get us some from the laundry. He didn't ever show up again. After 20 minutes we asked the next employee abotu towels and after another couple minutes we finally got some.
It felt very weird to stand 25 minutes next to the pool and just wait.
Why is staff passing empty bottles at the beach without caring about it? Why do I (a guest) have to pick it up and trash it?
General condition:
Lots of dirty cushions on the daybeds.
Dirty cushions on the balkony, shabby exterior in front of the room.
Ropes in the gym are damaged and therfore useless; too hot and humid in gym due to no windows (only wooden planks), 2 of 4 A/Cs not working
Roofs are optically in a very poor condition.
Restaurant:
Ordered 2 omeletts, one of which without onions. Both came with onions.
Next day we ordered it again (this time without any restrictions), both had no onions.Breakfast very limited. Expensive additional items on the menu. Breakfast feels very American (and that's not a compliment) and disappointing when you are used to Europe or Asia.
Breakfast quality is good, food quality in the restaurant was okay (not fitting to the price point).
Activities:
I think the snorkeling tour was advertised with 2h but was only 80 minutes in the end. Thats no problem but don't advertise it wrongly.
The guys conducting the snorkeling tour were apparently the only ones in the resort not knowing about it so we had to wait 15 minutes at the booth until everything was figured out.
Boat contained lots of garbage. Didn't feel very premium.
Check-out:
3.5% additionial charge for credit card payment is ridiculuos. Never had that before at an international hotel. I pay with a Hilton credit card and have disadvantages by doing so when paying at a Hilton property?”
Nanuku Fiji is exceptional

“Nanuku is an elegant, serene retreat that delivers a true sense of understated luxury. The property is stunning, with beautifully designed spaces, a peaceful atmosphere, and a level of privacy that makes it easy to fully unwind.
Service throughout the stay was warm and thoughtful, with a genuine emphasis on making guests feel cared for without ever feeling intrusive. The resort encourages you to slow down, disconnect, and enjoy the surroundings — and it succeeds beautifully. Wifi is throughout the property for personal use, the televisions have a few apps for streaming however no live televsion in the homes.
While Nanuku clearly prioritizes tranquility over technology, a few modern touches would make the experience even more seamless. Still, these are small details in an otherwise exceptional stay.
For travelers seeking a refined, relaxed, and intimate luxury experience, Nanuku is a wonderful choice. It comes very close to perfection, and I would absolutely return.”

“The people are amazing and the villa was beautiful. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were below average. Fitness center had AC issues the entire week. The resort is very beautiful and remote. If you are looking for a peaceful place and do not care about the food/drinks/amenity quality - then I’d recommend. If those details are important, pick a different place.”
