    “5 gradevoli minuti di passeggiata fino all’acropoli, vicinissimo al museo del partenone. Il balcone uno spazio extra per giocare e da cui vedere l’acropoli, una volta in piu. Con le finestre aperte la mattina si sentivano le civette. Il concierge si è preso cura di ogni necessità, dal transfer per l’aereoporto con baby seat per bambina di 2 anni fino alla prenotazione della cena in terrazza. Il ristorante è imperdibile per chi dorme in hotel, vista mozzafiato e cibo ben cucinato. Particolare il lavandino con una mattonella dentro, ipnotico.”

    “We really enjoyed our stay at the Divani Palace Acropolis. The location was excellent, with the Acropolis and the departure point for our tour only around a five-minute walk away. We were fortunate to receive a room upgrade, and the hotel itself was stylish and beautifully presented. A particularly fascinating feature is that the hotel was built over part of the ancient Themistoclean Wall. The excavated foundations have been preserved and can be viewed on the lower level of the hotel, just off reception. It was quite remarkable to see such an important piece of ancient Athens incorporated into the hotel itself. The rooftop restaurant and bar was another highlight, with wonderful views towards the Acropolis and very good food. Overall, an excellent hotel and a fantastic base for exploring historic Athens.”

    “Upon arrival, we apologised for arriving earlier than the check in time, we provided identity papers as requested. We have been told to have coffee at the lobby bar which we did. The time we spent at the lobby bar was more than disappointing as we had to wait for at least 20 minutes before getting our order. The personnel at the bar was totally disrespectful towards the clients as they were talking among them about business and common things in a very loud way. Nevertheless, we by passed this scene, we have been served . Although the reception staff were aware that we were waiting for the room nobody came to inform us when the room was ready, although we went once to ask whether we could move to the room. Finally, once in the room it was a total surprise. Even though we had requested in the message when booking, upper floor with stunning view to the Greek historic monuments we got the room that had a view to the neighbouring buildings. When called the reception to complain about we were told first that they haven’t seen the message and then that the message was automated !!!!! All the years we book through booking.com we never ever envisaged such a behaviour. As the payment did not go through booking but we paid directly at the hotel, upon arrival, we requested to get the refund and leave as it was not possible to stay in this room with such tiny balconies that no chair no table existed. There were so tiny that two people could not even stand together. When reported the whole story to the director he mentioned that he cannot do anything and cannot refund the reservation. He proposed to book us a little table in a corner on the roof top restaurant for which we had asked to book for dinner and were told that today it was not possible as it was booked for an event. The director’s version was that it was fully booked!!! He did not even offer a commercial gesture to propose another room with view to the Acropolis. Finally we left and we did not get any refund.”
