Grand Velas - as good as it gets!!

“This is our 7th time going to Grand Velas and it continues to deliver every time! The rooms have been completely renovated and they beautiful. Luis Mateo knocked it out of the park as usual. He handled all our requests with ease and trust me - we had a lot as we were a group of 16. Dinner reservations, transportation, room accommodations, and even a last-minute dance party complete with a DJ and dessert bar in a private room for my wife’s birthday! Oh - and he completely deck’d out our room with roses and a massive balloon display! Incredible. Francisco’s wine program is top notch! Gilberto at the pool - 10/10. Eduardo who manages the pool & beach never disappoints! Ricardo in Azul - Rock Star!! Alan at Sen Lin and Piaf - awesome! Do yourself a favor and go - but don’t spread the word too much…we want to keep this place a hidden gem!!”

“We just returned home from our 4th stay at Grand Velas in PVR and we can’t wait to go back. This was our first time coming during the summer and the Summerland they had set up for the kids was the highlight. My 4 and 6 year old had the time of their lives. They went on the zip line, the trampoline, and the water slide a million times. They also cried everytime we picked them up from the kids club because they did not want to leave. Our concierge, Luis, has become like family. Not only is he professional, he handles our every need before we even know we need it. I’m sure the other concierges are amazing too, but I recommend requesting Luis for above and beyond care. Edwardo, our pool concierge, is also wonderful. No matter how busy the pool is, he makes sure we had the perfect seats by the pool and he’s always smiling and laughing. Last but not least, it was nice to see Nino at the breakfast buffet. He was always our favorite pool server. Thank you Grand Velas for another magical vacation… and we will see you again soon.”

“What and amazing experience. Multi-Family vacation for 15, ranging ages from 11 to 80. ALL staff where great and resort was super clean. Beautiful pools and beach area. Restaurants were good to great with great options. Oscar helped plan the entire stay while on-site Perla and Luis made sure each and everyday was taken care of.”

“We are a family of 3 (15 yr old, and 2 adults), and also another adult traveler. the family of three booked a Master Parlor and an attached Parlor Plus. the rooms were phenomenal. Best hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Huge, comfortable, clean. The property is gorgeous, but in a way, simple and small. This isn't a large expansive property, you have the hotel, the restaurants and the pool and beach. So the pool is glorious - very large and clean. Mostly adults in the infinity section. Service at the pool is beyond excellent: Eduardo, Gustavo, Patricia to name a few of the folks that were so kind, attentive, professional. Cocktails are great - not the sometimes cloying frozen drinks at some properties. Azul is the beachfront buffet. breakfast and lunch were so delicious. I had my daily chilaquiles. And warm tacos with some many different toppings. Special and authentic stews daily, or asian food (sushi, sweet and sour pork), and there is also an a la Carte menu too, but we didn't get any thing from there. Selva Del Mar , small pool side restaurant had a lovely menu that you could order from your lounger also. highly recommend the combo of the spicy tuna tartare and the organic salad with citrus vinaigrette were a fabulous combo, as the tuna was indeed spicy. BTW - no issues, ever, getting the loungers we wanted. We grabbed them when we got to breakfast each morning - the best ones (we thought!) were on the south side, right in front of the beautiful ocean - which was free of seaweed, warm, rolling waves, fun for boogie boarding. We loved our dinners at Sen Lin the most - perfect crispy spring rolls, dumplings, curry shrimp. Service was super fun there. Next we liked Lucca - the eggplant appetizer was fabulous and I had it the next visit for dinner. Piaf was good - service was delightful. And Frida was just ok in my books. our concierge Dulce was really lovely and charming, and always there to help us. My daughter and I enjoyed the spa very very much, it was a real treat. I am not a usual spa person, so it was all new to me. We had the aromatherapy massage. Really awesome. At night, we watched FIFA games, enjoyed some music on the half moon patio. And drinks in the Koi bar. It was the low season in Mexico, but I think the hotel was below occupancy so it seemed very sleepy. That was just fine but I wouldn't have minded a little more liveliness. Would ALSO love a beach front bar open at night - the only bar open at night is Koi bar. But the bartenders were amazing and fun, so were the wait staff. I regret taking too long to write this other wise I would name them - I *think* we had David and Imelda who were our buddies at Koi. In summary, I would recommend this place for a nice, quiet vacation where everyone looks after you with care and professionalism.”

“We had a great time at this hotel. It was hot in July. The weather forecasts were not as terrible in real life. We had plenty of sun and pool time. pool is better in AM as it’s a tad cooler. like bath water in the afternoon. Sen Lin was the best restaurant in our opinion. Shout out to our waiter Allen and Francisco at Piaf who were awesome! Emiliano, the Omelette chef was AMAZING at Azul. We didn’t do any excursions but enjoyed things like Painting, and Mixology (Shout out to David, our bartender who was great!) as well as water aerobics, yoga and beach volleyball (Shout out to the aerobics teams and Carlos for volleyball) The spa was divine. At the pool Gilberto and Gabriel treated us great!!! All the staff did. We stayed in a Family suite (was perfect for 5 (Parents and 3 adult children) Hasn’t been renovated like the others. Our concierge was very nice but didn’t get activity schedules until after some activities already started. Should get it day before especially for those we need to sign up for. Would recommend for a great relaxing vacation!”

“We had an incredibly stay at Grand Velas Riviera Nayirit! We consider ourselves foodies and we were very impressed by the food at each restaurant and buffet, but Frida and Lucca were standouts for us. The rooms were spacious and well appointed and the view from our balcony was tremendous. The pools were delightful and well maintained. Room service and house keeping were both excellent. By far the most impactful experience we had was interacting with the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, kind, and helpful. We had a number of requests throughout our stay and no matter who we spoke to they were able to accommodate us without delay or escalation. The staff are a true testament to the brand.”

The location was beautiful, the rooms were absolutely incredible- it was one of the only hotels I've ever stayed at that felt as beautiful and comfortable as my own home. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was elegant, and every meal felt like a special occasion. It's a must-visit while you're there. We also can't say enough good things about Salvador, our concierge. He went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our stay was perfect. His recommendations, attention to detail, and genuine kindness made the experience completely stress-free. Another huge thank you to Carlos, who led many of the outdoor activities. Whether it was boogie boarding or beach volleyball, he brought so much energy and enthusiasm that everyone wanted to join in. “Our family has traveled all over Mexico—we’ve been to Cancun multiple times, as well as Cabo and Manzanillo—but Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is by far our favorite resort. In fact, this is our second year coming here in a row, and it simply cannot be beaten. From the moment you arrive, you realize the service here is second to none. The food and restaurants are absolutely top-notch, offering incredible quality that rivals fine dining anywhere in the world. The drinks are equally fantastic—expertly crafted and always refreshing. We truly couldn't ask for anything more from a luxury vacation. What pushes this resort from great to unforgettable, though, is the incredible staff. A few certain employees really shined like bright stars in our eyes during our stay: Ricardo Mesero: Our breakfast and lunch server was hands-down the very best! He actually remembered us from before and took extra special care of us the entire time. Having that kind of personalized attention made every day start perfectly. Carlos & the Beach Volleyball Crew: A special mention has to go to Carlos at the volleyball court. The entire beach volleyball crew was incredibly friendly, energetic, and playful, making the games a massive highlight of our trip. If you are looking for perfection on the Pacific coast, this is it. We are already counting down the days until our third visit!”

“Hotel is great with friendly staff. The visit started with a complementary relaxation message even before we checked in. There is a dedicated concierge team assigned to you and helping with everything including dinner reservations, daily notification of the day's activities ,etc. Shout out to Jose "Chepe" and Angel. Our stay aligned with FIFA WC and the hotel had a great fun zone with plenty of food and drinks. Lots of activities for kids and teens including separate zones for both age groups each with age appropriate games. Good selection of restaurants with diverse options. Breakfast and lunch buffet with great plenty of options. Great activities around the pools and beach area including kayaking, beach volleyball... shout out to Carlos, Leberato, Laila..and the team for great games. Pool side service was great.. those shrimp tacos..muchas gracias .. Gabriel, Angel, Patricia... There are also quite zones for those who want to lay in cabanas by the beach all day. Great stay and experience for entire family.”

“Our family recently spent 11 wonderful nights at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, and after several visits over the years, we can honestly say this was our best trip yet. The resort itself is beautiful, the food is outstanding, and the spa is exceptional, but what makes Grand Velas truly special is the people. Over the years, we have come to know many of the employees, and returning feels like coming back to visit old friends. They remember us, anticipate our needs, and consistently go above and beyond to make our stay memorable. A special thank you to Mario, our concierge, who once again provided exceptional service. Mario takes a genuine interest in his guests, checks in throughout the day, and is always available to help with anything that comes up. His personal attention and care make every stay seamless and enjoyable. We would also like to recognize Fidel at Azul. He clearly takes tremendous pride in creating an outstanding dining experience, and his attention to detail and commitment to excellent service are a big reason we look forward to returning each year. Azul continues to be one of our favorite restaurants on the property. Ricardo at Azul also deserves recognition. He remembers our family’s preferences and always makes us feel welcome, often anticipating what we need before we even ask. Eduardo was another highlight of our trip. He helped us with our pool chairs every day and always took time to visit with us. His friendly personality and genuine hospitality made each day even more enjoyable. The spa was incredible. What keeps bringing us back is not just the beautiful property, luxurious accommodations, great food, or exceptional spa—it’s the people. A special thank you to Mario, our concierge. We have worked with Mario on every one of our visits, and he truly treats our family like his own. Seeing him each year feels like reconnecting with an old friend. He always goes above and beyond to make our stay seamless and memorable. We also have to recognize Fidel at Azul. Like Mario, Fidel has become part of what makes Grand Velas feel like home to us. He remembers our family, takes incredible care of us, and consistently makes us feel welcome year after year. Azul was one of the highlights of our trip. A special thank you to Ricardo, who always remembered our family’s preferences and made sure everything was just right without us ever having to ask. That personal touch made every meal even more enjoyable. We also want to thank Eduardo, who greeted us with a smile every day and helped us secure our pool chairs, as well as Manuel and Saturnino for their excellent pool service throughout our stay. “Just returned from another great trip to PV. We have been to all three Grand Velas properties, but have returned to Riviera Nayarit the most. It is the smaller of the three properties but they really make you feel like your family when their long-time employees recognize you by name. The remodeled rooms are beautiful. We normally stay in the Governor Suite but they were currently in the remodel process. This was our first stay in the Parlor Plus Suite. This room type as two full bathrooms and the bedroom is separate from the living area which can provide some added privacy. The only complaint from this visit is that they placed us on lower floor despite the resort being about 35% full and we did not have the best view. The food was excellent as usual. I do miss having the Cocina De Autor option that the other two Grand Velas properties have, but the four fine dining options here are excellent. Our family enjoys the fact that guests do dress up for dinner and the resort delivers a fine dining experience at each distinct restaurant. Service is what really sets this resort apart. I can still hear the “it’s my pleasure” each employee responds when a request is made. Francisco was great at the pool as usual. He was always there with a fresh drink just as we were needing a new one…anticipating each need. David at the Koi bar really knows his craft. We also were able to do a mixology class with him which was so fun and informative. Don’t miss the mixology class if it is offered when you are there. Even though the resort was not full, Grand Velas has really made and effort to increase the entertainment options at night. The lack of nightly entertainment options had been my only criticism in the past. On this visit, we made our dinner reservations later in the night to allow us the opportunity to see the shows before dinner. You can tell there has been a real effort to increase the entertainment options. If on vacation you are looking to relax and have every want fulfilled, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is the perfect place.”
