Breakfast order for one of our party was send back twice due to wrong items. She wanted salmon and 2 soft boiled eggs, first order came Ruth bacon and second order the correct eggs however still bacon and bit salmon.

“From the moment we arrived for our 3 night stay right to the end this hotel surpassed our (high) expectations! It is a beautiful hotel with a stunning backdrop. The food and wine are delicious, the rooms are luxurious. But what makes it outstanding in our opinion are the staff who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and special. A huge thank you to ALL the staff and especially Byron and Nuzaan who were just always “on it”, to William, Mario, Trevonia and Simone, and the drivers Garth, Grandley and Galant.
We sincerely hope we can come back one day.”

“Our second visit the La Residence. This time we stayed in a Vineyard suite. Amazing room, extremely spacious and luxurious with our own plunge pool. Staff are amazingly friendly with great attention to detail. The whole ambience if of peace, tranquility and luxury. Definitely will be going back”

“Amazing beautiful private villa in the wine country. The property is unbelievable in an amazing setting with winery, flowers, peacocks. Service was amazing. Had full staff and private chef that was super accommodating. The only negative which was a big one was lack of air conditioning. Rooms huge with high ceiling in inadequate air conditioning in bedrooms. The main areas of house had no AC at all. Can’t imagine how they would build this relatively new villa with inadequate AC. If not for the AC would be 5 stars and would return.”

From the moment we stepped out of our vehicle, we were greeted by the hotel hostess with a warm smile and an ice cold refresher towel to cool us down, on a very hot South African summers day! All the staff made us feel like family! We each received a complimentary glass of champagne!! The sweet and savory treats were to die for!! Each staff member was proud to be part of
their gorgeous hotel situated in Franschoek Cape Town. This hotel is truly a destination not to be missed! “A phenomenal experience to visit La Residence Franschhoek.
The high tea- highlight of our day was beyond expectation.
We were warmly greeted at the entrance with a refreshing hand towel and delicious bubbly. Thank you.
Juanita settled us in perfect splendour with views over the lake and manicured gardens.
Renursha came to introduce us to our high tea experience. She is a skilled and artistic pastry Chef and shared with us each ingredient of the delicacies she timeously prepared, which were delicious and plentiful.
We were met by Aryton,
one of the managers and his engaging personality had us feel like family.

Another manager namely Byron made a special effort to share his expertise and knowledge of this boutique hotel and its history, with a visual tour of the unique ameneties it offers.
We must share the experience left us feeling like we couldn’t leave.

“I am home now and fondly remembering my delightful stay of three nights at La Residence.
"Exquisite" is an understatement in describing this luxury hotel in the beautiful winelands of Franschhoek, South Africa. From the moment I arrived I was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by both Ray and Nuzaan, and all the staff members, as I began my journey into the epitome of luxury accommodations and service. Delicious culinary delights in an outstandingly beautiful environment...what more could one ask??? La Residence now surpasses some of my favorites across Europe and in particular in France. After 27 wonderful days in South Africa....this was at the top of the highlights of my trip.
The culture that has been created at this extraordinary destination is remarkable and superbly enhanced by perfection in the custom, handpicked antique French decor and artwork personally selected by the Biden's.
On a daily basis I was delighted by engaging conversation with you, Craig, who continually exuded gracious hospitality and pride in representing this fine hotel. I was also privileged to meet and be warmly greeted each evening by Victor and Florence, true additional ambassadors of the hotel.
I can only hope to return to this incredible venue in the future..... In the interim, I will definitely recommend La Residence with the vigor to all my friends, family and colleagues.”

“We just returned from a 2 week trip to South Africa where we were lucky enough to spend the last 3 nights of our trip at La Residence. It couldn't have been more special. We arrived to the property and were greeted so warmly by the staff and sparkling Rosé that from that moment on we never wanted to leave! They really go above and beyond to make you feel like you are part of a family....but I don't want to say too much because it is best to just not hesitate and book your stay here and see for yourself how special it is.
We stayed in the Disa Suite #4 and it was GORGEOUS. Views of the vineyards and the pool and sunset with a large terrace and loungers and sofa to sit on. Every amenity you could want is in the room and on property and if it isn't for some reason...they will get it for you. The pool is heated and was nice both during July 50 degree Fahrenheit days as well as a couple of abnormally warm 75 degree days. We sipped espresso martinis and lunched by the pool on 2 of our 3 days and loved it. The views cannot be beat!
Although we did venture out for 1 lunch and 1 dinner at highly recommended restaurants (and there are a TON in Franschhoek) ...the property was just so stunning and the food is so good...we just didn't feel like going out. That said, the concierge is great at setting up whatever reservations you want at wineries for tastings or at restaurants for lunches or dinners. Also, the complimentary 5 mile radius luxury private transfer is fantastic. We went to a couple wineries and to the main town of Franschhoek and to a dinner out and our drivers, Theo and Galant were so friendly and excellent as well as very knowledgeable about the hotel and surrounding establishments and area.
A very special thanks to Nuzaan, Mario, Mischa, William and Chantell for all that they did for us. Nuzaan gave us an amazing tour of the property and was there to greet us and settle us in when we first arrived. Mario was there for our breakfasts each morning and drinks and lunch by the pool and had such an amazing energy and was always so happy. Mischa made our 20th Anniversary dinner on the property so special and was always checking on us to make sure that all the food and everything was just perfect. William gave us many recommendations for wine and even did a private tasting for us during sundowners by the pond. His knowledge of South African wines was extensive. And last but certainly not least, Chantell. We can't express how much we loved getting to sit and talk with Chantell. She not only informed us so much about Franschoek and Le Residence but also gave us such great information about our time in Cape Town and even about our Safari in Kruger near where she grew up. She is one of the kindest and most amazing people you will ever meet and you should definitely take some time to chat with her during your stay.
Bottom line....this is one of the most special hotels we have ever stayed at and can't wait to return again.”
