Review in focus
This is one of the two most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed in (Villa Cora in Firenze being the other). Santa Mauro is a gorgeous, chic and lovingly renovated, property in a leafy and bourgeois quarter of wonderful Madrid. Design, lighting and maintenance of the public areas was beyond expectations. My room itself was comfortable and spacious, although it alone betrayed a bit the blander Marriott touch that, thank God, has not marred the remainder of the hotel. Service was overall extremely good, attentive, kind, and felt genuinely warm and caring. Breakfast and drinks in the hotel were real events. Although not inexpensive, I felt the price to quality ratio was quite fair.
