“My husband and I love Soufriere, St Lucia! We started going there in 2004 and this was our 7th trip to St Lucia. We splurged this year and finally got to stay up in the mountain top at Ladera Resort! It was even more magical than we ever dreamed it would be to stay at Ladera! From the moment you arrive, the staff treated us so special….always going above & beyond making sure we were happy with everything! We were booked into a Rainbow Suite and we were so excited to get upgraded into a Hilltop Suite! We never got tired of the views between the two Pitons while looking down at boats along Sugar Beach! This was our first time staying in an open-air suite with only 3 walls. I was worried about the Heat in August with only ceiling fans and standing fans by our bedside, but the cool mountain breezes made it very comfortable. If we got hot, we just went for a swim in our plunge pool or jump in main pool which was kept at an even cooler temperature and was very refreshing swim! We Loved to listen to the waterfall water running into our pool, such a calming white noise. We enjoyed all the free amenities that Ladera had to offer - Garden Tour, Discovery Tour, Nature Hike & the Manager’s Happy Hour! We also went to the new spa at Ladera Resort- Leve Spa (only opened last year) . We had an amazing St Lucian Spice massage, which was followed by a special lunch at Dasheene, which was the most delicious lunch we had in the 10 days we were in St Lucia! Loved that they also provided free transportation down to Malgretoute Beach and Sugar Beach. They both have chairs & umbrellas you can rent as well as beachside restaurants for drinks & lunch. We love the snorkeling at Malgretoute Beach. We saw so many different fish - barracudas, needle nose, scuttle fish, Sargent Majors, parrot fish and even a yellow fin tuna! On our last day we even saw a really cool spotted water snake swimming around the rocks along the beach, which I was told was not poisonous. Breakfast was included and it had such a nice variety of choices - fresh fruit plate, coffees, smoothies, fresh baked warm pastries, egg dishes, pancakes, waffles, crepes and so much more….pretty much anything you’d ever want! We ate lunches and dinners at Ladera most days….food was always so delicious and the staff were all so sweet…they made our stay so memorable! Thank you to all Ladera staff for taking such good care of us - reception, the spa, restaurant, housekeeping and Butlers… YOU ALL ROCK!”

“Absolutely amazing views and service! My husband and I stayed at Ladera for 3 nights at the start of our St. Lucian vacation and we both fell in love with this beautiful resort! Everyone that works there is so kind and helpful. They all seem to know your names after the first day! The views from the room is almost unbelievable and something I will cherish forever! Waking up to the sunrise and the birds chirping was amazing. I was worried about being hot with no A/C, but we both slept like babies and had to use the covers. The only time I was warm was while getting ready in the bathroom. I think it might help if they put a fan in the bathroom. The only other issue we had we made the mistake of leaving bathroom light on the first night and the bugs were crazy outside of our bed netting, but once the light was off there was no issues! The food at Dasheene was incredible. The breakfast was included and you had so many choices. We chose to eat our lunches around the pool and the service was top notch. The evening meals at Dasheene had the most amazing views but the only downside was shortly after sunset the bugs were crazy. I actually had to cover my shoulders with a napkin because they were so bothersome. I’m not sure why they were so bad here because we ate dinner at Hotel Chocolat across the street one night and had zero bug issues! We booked the volcano and mud bath experience with the resort and had the best time! Benton was our private driver for the day and I highly recommend! We also went to the spa while we were there and had a couples massage. It was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend. We hiked 2 of the trails there and although they are a bit challenging the views at the top are worth it! We felt very safe the entire time we were there and the security seems very attentive. If you are on the fence about booking Ladera… don’t!! It’s an amazing place that I will never forget and we would love to return one day to experience it again!!”

“We didn’t feel bad relaxing in our room because we could swim privately and had the most incredible view! We used the tree house, indoor and outdoor gym, hot tubs, pool table, ping pong, and community pool and were all alone!! (There were other guests but it was the less busy time of the year). Local excursions were done privately instead of a big group. Took advantage of the shuttle to sugar beach and Malgretoute beach which were BEAUTIFUL with good snorkeling, and there were maybe 6 other people on Malgretoute with us. The food was incredible. I was really worried about not having AC but slept very good with the ocean breeze coming in. Such a luxurious and private spot!”

“I arrived at Ladera Resort for our Honeymoon on July 20- July 26. The way the room was decorated and the personalized note made me cry happy tears. When you first arrive to Ladera you are greeted with the phrase 'Welcome to Paradise". This resort does not lie, its an ecofriendly paradise everything is hand crafted from the furniture(chairs, tables, soap dishes, etc). The food and plants are grown and cared for on the property. The staff is very accommodating, I am sensitive to heights and shared this with my facialist at the spa. She held my hand and walked me up and down to the spa room. She checked on me after the facial and offered my husband and I time in the sauna. I saw her the next day and she stopped and checked on me again. The there is Isha one of the servers and hostess at the Dasheene restaurant. She fixed me the best to go smoothies. She realized my favorite smoothie is the Dasheene Pick Me Up and notated it for others. From the entire restaurant staff who realized my phobia and sat me on the third row not on the front or side. They constantly checked on me and ensured that I was ok. The boutique staff was patient and caring when I was cramping and ran and located the needed medicine and sent over ginger tea assist me. Everyone was friendly and greeted us or waved from the cleaning crew, garden staff, artist in the Immersion studio,consierge, front desk, check out, spa, gym etc.. We meet the chef who curated the meals and who was in travel magazines. The artist who carved the picture frame I bought. Or the artist who made the bracelets and necklaces I bought. Or the The tour guide who took us to the Mudbath, Volcano, Garden and waterfall tour. This place is genuine and makes you feel like family. The Felix's will definitely return.”

“This was a very unique experience for us, the resort in a boutique style eco friendly design. We love how the buildings are built to flow with the land and surrounding forest. We stayed in Hilltop 7 and had fantastic views of the Pitons as well as the Caribbean Sea below. The open air living was great even if it took a minute to adjust to no A/C and the nature that visited frequently. It is a must try at least once in life. The staff is amazing, we did not meet a single unkind or rude staff member. So many names to mention but a special shout out to Janelle at Dasheen who made our dinners very special, the breakfast staff is like a well oiled machine, Isha (I hope I spelled It right) runs a tight ship but keeps it so friendly with her beautiful smile. “V” kept us well stocked with our minibar and room service which we definitely appreciate. We spent two days at Sugar Beach (as guests), the beach is nice and about a 15 minute shuttle ride each way. The only real drawback is Sugar Beach charges $100/chair for the day which is outrageous it does come with good service but wow. The beach does offer free chairs but each day we were there they were all being used as they are on the public side of the beach. This was our second visit to St. Lucia and it was even better than I remembered such wonderful people living on a beautiful island!”

“Ladera is a truly unique property. The setting is stunning- set between the pitons 1000 feet above sea level. You cannot beat the views. Food at Dashnee was excellent, the farm to table was apparent in every dish. There was a daily fish special and so many seafood options along with beef, chicken, pasta, risotto etc. Chicken dishes and goat dish was excellent. The chocolate mousse was the best dessert I have ever had. Wine choices were excellent and cocktails, for the most part, were great. Service was wonderful- every staff member knew our names and did whatever possible to make our stay lovely. Servers, managers, reception, drivers, cleaning staff, butlers, were all incredible. We stayed in 2 rooms- a Hilltop suite (X3) and a Heritage Suite (G). Both rooms were amazing however the Heritage Suite was STUNNING. Ladera is an open concept resort so you have to be prepared for the sound of nature, bugs in your room, particularly moths- moths bigger than you can imagine. Don't worry, the birds come in and eat them in the morning! The rooms have many fans and we found the only time it was warm was when we were getting ready for dinner. Nighttime was lovely. We did excursions, went to both beaches, to the spa, rum hideaway, hiked the trails. All were excellent. I recommend anyone looking for a unique experience to try Ladera.”

“The absolute most magical incredible place we have visited. I can’t properly express the beauty and incredible experience we received at Ladera. No photos or reviews will ever do it justice, you need to experience it for yourself. The rooms are absolutely BREATH TAKING. The staff is INCREDIBLE, so accommodating and ready to go above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience. It was such a unique experience we will never forget. We will dream about coming back soon. The open wall room is something you have to experience for yourself, this was truly a unique one of a kind experience. As a Floridian that sleeps with their ac set at 67 degrees evey night, I was worried about how it would feel to stay in the open wall rooms… I can’t believe how comfortable and relaxing the breeze and sounds of the nature outside was. Me and my husband both agreed we truly slept better than we do at home lol!! Thank you to our butlers Sedley and Rohan for making this an absolute dream stay for us. You both were such a huge part of making our stay perfect and going above and beyond. Thank you! We will be back”

“We had an amazing experience staying at Ladera this month! Pros: -Staff! Friendliest staff we’ve ever encountered on our travels. -Dasheene: Amazing food and service! The views were spectacular from the restaurant. -Room: Well cared for and very unique in design (wood carvings) -Leve Spa: Insane! Such a great couples massage. -Layout: Very intimate but super accommodating from food, to service, to amenities (treehouse was so cool!) -Security: We felt very safe and secure! The staff did an excellent job verifying when you needed to leave (and gave us a cellphone) as well as signing upon our return Cons: -If you get motion sickness, the ride from the airport can be a challenge (nothing against the resort) -Wind: The room was phenomenal and had amazing views, but being that high up in elevation brings on some crazy wind/rain. Definitely recommend Ladera to anyone considering visiting St Lucia!”

“We were on our honeymoon and the Ladera made our trip. It was AWESOME. For what it is, this place has their act together. The resort layout is interesting, but they really maximize the space and I’m pretty sure every guest has a similar AMAZING view of the Pitons (see photo). Even before we arrived to the actual resort, logistics were on point. Airport transfer at airport upon arrival and a quick trip to resort (Thanks Emanuel). Staff was great, quick check in, a motor tour of the resort and a thorough walkthrough of room features. One of our favorites was every guest gets an old school cellphone that just has pre-programmed hotel numbers in - works anywhere on the island and was used for anything we needed - reservations, taxis, room service, whatever (we called it the bat phone). You also get waterproof wristbands that are your keys, so never have to worry about getting wet or misplacing. We booked through an agency and due to availability were lucky enough to receive a room upgrade to a bi-level with an airconditioned sleeping area in addition to the standard open air bed. (not sure if AC option is standard, but we were definitely grateful, as it is warm). Food at Dasheene was solid every meal and service was attentive. We did the Tet hike and Volcano and Mud Bath excursions th waterfall, all coordinated through reception. You tell them what you want to do and when, and they take care of the rest. Tet hike was good, Volcano and waterfall are cool, and mud baths are a MUST. The resort itself also offers quite a bit - its has almost a 1 mile loop hike that delivers exceptional view of the Pitons via a viewing and yoga platform. The trail was actively being expanded while we were there looking forward to see what they do with it. Continue along and there is the coolest treehouse I've ever seen (photo doesn't do it justic). Also available is an outdoor workout area - looks pretty but wooden gym equipment is not super functional - if there was anything to gripe about, I think that space could be improved/reworked (There is a standard indoor AC Gym on site also, the outdoor is in addition). There is also a pretty large spa - we did not end up doing our spa day at the Ladera, but maybe we should have... We didn't end up taking the shuttle to the beach, but several folks we talked to had a good experience. Another must-do is go and visit Hilarious at the Hideaway, a small speak-easy style bar only opened to guests of the resort. Hilarious is the man. The views are as advertised, unreal. I was skeptical until we got in our room, as all of the transport and such is on the backside of the ridge. As soon as we walked in, jaw just about hit the floor. Pool, complementary drinks, exceptional cedar and mahogany crafted structures, hand carvings everywhere, very very solid. Also, its warm and in the mountains so yes, you'll see some bugs. That said, really appreciated that this resort wages an all-out war to keep them away and they do quite a great job. Fans, zappers, tinted lights, daily incents, bug nets, spray, they're doing it all. Don't let the bugs deter you, it really was not even an inconvenience, but if you're expecting to see literally zero, the Caribbean may not be for you... We cannot wait to be back whenever that may be! Side note - Thomas was our taxi driver a couple days, who was also one of our favorites.”

“We stayed end of May for 3 nights to celebrate our 25th anniversary, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The setting is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced—sleeping in an open-air room surrounded by nature was both peaceful and magical. At night, we fell asleep to the sounds of frogs and rustling trees, and woke up to breathtaking views. We were lucky enough to see rainbows, stunning sunsets, and a sky full of stars—all from our perch high above the landscape. The entire atmosphere felt serene and deeply connected to nature. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to help with anything we needed. We took the shuttle to Malgretoute Beach and were lucky to have the whole beach to ourselves. The hotel has an agreement with the beach and restaurant so the lunch, drinks and beach chairs purchased were put on our room bill. The food was excellent, and the rum bar was a standout feature—we found ourselves returning there every evening. The bartender (his name starts with an ‘A’) was amazing and his fresh rum/ginger drink was incredible. It was the perfect way to unwind and soak in the ambiance. If you’re considering booking this place, don’t hesitate. It’s more than just a stay—it’s a memory we will cherish forever. One more thing…the road from the airport is windy, not terrible in the sense it is paved and not potholes etc. just a windy drive. We didn’t have any problems with sickness.”

“We stayed from June 4-8 and had the best experience. From the moment we arrived to the second we left, the entire staff treated us like we were their best friends. They helped at every moment with no expectations and greeted us every time we saw anyone on the resort. A special shout out to the guest services manager Sherin who went above and beyond. When the bug bites got to us, she ensured we were comfortable. Give her a promotion now! By the way… the rooms are unmatched and the food is phenomenal!”

“Stayed here with my wife for a few days on our honeymoon trip to Saint Lucia. We were in the villa la fleur room which was quite amazing (heated pool, butler service, etc.). The room has doors that will close and AC so we had no issues with bugs or room temperature. The food and staff were nothing short of great. We also had a fantastic couples massage and really enjoyed walking around the property. If/when we ever return to the island we would be curious to see what Jade Mountain and Sugar beach are like in comparison, but I can already tell the view won’t be as nice. If you aren’t traveling with kids I highly recommend staying here. P.S. do yourself a favor and book a ferry from the airport to the hotel and back, the roads on the island are terrible and will make you car sick.”

“We just came back from another amazing stay at Ladera Resort and honestly, everything was beautiful as always. We were 4 people staying in 2 rooms, and this was actually our 4th time spending a few nights here — which says a lot already! Every time we come back, we feel at home. The staff is absolutely incredible and they always treat us like family. Everyone is so kind, welcoming, and genuinely caring, and that’s one of the main reasons we keep coming back. The views are just WOW, the heated pool is stunning, the food is always delicious, and breakfast every morning was amazing. We also loved the new spa — such a relaxing and beautiful space. One of our favorite things is still the forest trail and the giant mango tree house. Such a special experience and such a beautiful place to walk around and enjoy nature. Ladera is truly one of our favorite places ever and we already can’t wait to come back again!”

“Was looking for a pre-summer / post-school year retreat with my wife - Ladera did not disappoint. Fabulous service (thanks Vee), unbelivable views, and amazing accommodations. Only 3 walls with a view of the pitons and the sea?? Yes please. Pool in the room half-in/half-out, sleeping indoors but just enough “outdoors” to feel luxurious… Wife and I barely left our room. Mid-May - so hot temps and blue skies, but refreshing 2-3 min showers every few hours through the day, and rain on the metal roof at night - absolute perfection. We’re picky and we like nice stuff - we stay at places like Aman. This was not LUX like that; but you wouldn’t want it to be. It’s understated, clean, comfortable, and perfect. One of the best quick-trips I’ve ever done.”
