Made a reservation, not first time there, last time told me not to book with kids so the price won’t jump because kids stay free there and so I did but when I arrived they didn’t have babies bed and offered me to let a one year old to sleep in a mattress on the floor.

“After staying at many brilliant resorts in Thailand, we now feel we have found the perfect place .
The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and all the staff are super friendly.
We stayed in the Gardens with a pool view, the room was very spacious and kept super clean.
Breakfast was buffet style, the choice was vast , catering for every taste .
We used the beach front pool , which was brilliant .
The pool location to the beach was perfect, 3 strides and your on the lovely Cheweng beach "this was the icing on the cake for us".
The hotel location is perfect, out of the front entrance, turn left, walk 5mins and your into the area where all the restaurants and bars are .
I would like to thank all the staff for making our stay so memorable.
We have now found our perfect hotel in Thailand ... We will definitely be back next year.

A family holiday in paradise

“We stayed her for 10 nights and the hot is beautiful. The location is stunning. The view from the pool by the beach is beautiful. We stayed in a two story bungalow on the other side of the road. There is a security guard who stops the traffic for you to cross. Across the road the gardens and two other stunning pools. It is paradise. The room was great as we were a family, with two children age 8 and 11. Buffet breakfast has so much choice. The iced coffees are amazing. We often had lunch by the pool or in the restaurant. We also had dinner here. Or walked 5 minutes into chewing where there are lots of restaurants, 7-11, bars etc. there is so much to do on the island. The hotel also had a bbq and fire show. You could also pay for a private dinner on the beach. We had the most amazing stay. Thank you”
I think we made the right choice!

“I chose Amari because the mixture of reviews, quality, atmosphere and amenities, combined with budget, pleased me the most!
And i was not disappointed.
A swift transfer from the airport
Fast check-in
Very nice room, as requested ground floor and poolside (Thai Village room)
The resort "looks great", pleasant to be there and to walk around
Good pools
Nicely maintained beach in front
I did not find it troublesome at all to cross the street to go to breakfast or the beach/beachside pool. The hotel has an employee to cross you over safely.
I have not encountered a staff member being less corteous.
The night market and shopping area are only a 10-15 minute walk away so you are not "right there in the noise".
Let me emphasise the budget part. At Amari, you get value for money. Have i weighed and seen other properties? Of course, as a travel advisor i have to. But it feels for us as we have made the right choice to spend 4 nights here.
Thank you, staff at Amari, for hosting us so pleasantly!”
Another fabulous holiday at the Amari Koh Samui

“Our 7th visit to the Amari Koh Samui, the first being 2009. Yet again, it did not disappoint. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe Ocean View Room which provided the perfect accommodation for our holiday. The staff were again fabulous, from the Reception, cleaning and bar. Whilst all were courteous, friendly and professional, special
mention must go to Penn, Honey, Boom, Deer and Noi who made our stay so memorable.
There are aspects that need improvement (although I must stress that these didn’t spoil our holiday), but for balance I believe they should be mentioned, so here goes.
Some of the groups/families used the bar seating area to eat non hotel food, sit in wet clothes on chairs/settee’s that meant others could not use them afterwards; this needed to be challenged by the hotel staff as it spoiled the experience for others. I suspect because the Thai culture meant the staff didn’t want to upset anyone, the offenders were left to do as they pleased and the area became a tip. Senior management need to intervene.
The only other area that wasn’t as good as previous visits was the visibility of senior management. Previously the General Manager used to make a point of getting out and about to meet clientele; we never saw them at all during this visit. Also, a reception used to be held for returning guests but this also appears to have stopped. Perhaps a review of management exposure would be beneficial.
But please do not let these comments take away the fact that the Amari Koh Samui is a fabulous place for a memorable holiday. We will certainly be returning in the future. Our thanks to all staff who we met for another memorable experience.

“My family and I had a wonderful time at Amari Koh Samui to celebrate the New Year and spend time together. The staff was incredibly helpful in recommending activities to do during the day and providing anything we needed. In addition, I had forgotten an item in my hotel room, and the staff went out of their way to ship it all the way back to the US. We are incredibly grateful for Amari Koh Samui and highly recommend!”

“Great location. On the beach or a short cross the street with the help of a crossing guard.
The hotel provided water and were quick to respond with any requests. breakfast at the restaurant was very good with choices for all. The staff at the hotel bar/pool side were excellent. They were friendly and went out of their way particularly Penn.
7/11 is right there as are shops and restaurants. Prego permits charges to the room and a discount.
i recommend the Amari.”

“I’d love to give a 5 star as the staff are so lovely but there were a couple of things that could be better and I like to be as fair as possible.
Staff: Wonderful. All of them, from reception to pool to restaurant to housekeeping to the road crossing guys all had a smile and friendly word always.
It was my husbands birthday when we stayed and the maid wrote a little message on the mirror and the hotel gave him a cake. Both much appreciated and a nice touch.
We did the Thai cooking class and had a lovely time. There were just the two of us and we ate what we cooked. Mai who took the class was great fun and you get to keep your aprons and you get a certificate.
Room: we stayed in room 3223 on the Thai Village wing with views of the middle pool. The room was clean and serviced daily, you decided when towels and bedding were swapped out.
Housekeeping could be quite late, we returned from a trip at 4pm and it hadn’t been done yet so I rang to ask for someone to come and do the room so we could shower etc without being interrupted and this was done straight away.
Pools: all pools and the surrounding areas are beautifully maintained and kept clean by the staff who are constantly clearing up after people.
Sunbeds: comfortable but rare as hens teeth at certain times of the day. On our first day we wandered for an hour trying to get a bed over all 3 pool areas and in the end removed towels which we were told had been placed early morning and then never used. By then it was 2pm. No one ever came to use the beds so I’m glad we removed the towels and used them but we do think this is something that should be “policed” by the hotel.
There’s clearly not enough sunbeds for all so people should not be able to reserve them and then never use them. Towels removed after a period of time is fair and works at other hotels we’ve been to.
Restaurant: breakfast was plentiful with absolutely loads of choice. If you couldn’t find something for breakfast then you’d be the fussiest person on earth.
We went to the Chinese new year buffet and this was nice though the food was rather lukewarm.
Atmosphere: the hotel is quite central and we walked easily into town and to nearby restaurants and I also had both a manicure and pedicure which were such great value at a nearby beauty shop called Golden Studio.
The hotel is very child friendly and there were a lot of small children in residence when we stayed. This is not a problem unless you want peace and quiet.
Our next hotel is adults only so we’ll get that there 😂”

“Choosing this hotel was the best decision of our lives, both for our holiday and for planning our wedding.
From the very beginning, everyone was incredibly helpful and supportive. They went through every single detail with us thoroughly, and whenever we wanted to make a change, nothing was ever a problem.
The staff were extremely kind and very child-friendly. Our big day was absolutely perfect, and we are truly grateful from the bottom of our hearts.
When we left, we even received a touching farewell gift, and everyone who had been involved in the organization came to say goodbye to us personally.
Thank you so much — we send our love and gratitude to Nanthawan Channara and the entire team.❤️”

“This hotel is marketed as 5-star, but it definitely doesn't feel like one. Food quality is low overall, and the breakfast buffet is disappointing — nothing like you'd expect from a top-tier resort. Rooms are okay, but housekeeping comes way too late (around 5 pm), which is inconvenient.
The biggest issues are the guests: lots of loud, mannerless behavior, especially from Israeli and South African groups. People reserve sunbeds early like 'Karens,' and there's open weed smoking on the beach. If you want peace and quiet, stick to the garden wing — it's much calmer there.
Breakfast staff sometimes over-help by carrying plates for some customers(even though it's self-service), but ask for a simple glass of water and they'll remind you it's self-service.
Overall, not recommended if you're seeking a relaxing, upscale 5-star experience”

“We rated the Amari 4 out of 5 .
The Amari had three nice pools . One with a fantastic beach view .
We stayed in the Garden Wing village . Rooms were clean and spacious enough for two people . Beds comfortable and very wide. Our balcony on the 3rd floor had a nice pool view !.
Rooms on 2nd & 3rd floor excess is by stairs only ( No lifts ) .
Breakfast selection was great,
Where we think the Amari could improve,
The welcome was nice - checking out was not so nice . We wasn’t asked how our stay was ? Thanks for your custom . We’d like to welcome you back . Etc etc .
On checking out we were just asked - have you got everything out your room ? And then we’ve checked the room and everything is ok . That was it .
Prior to checking in at the Amari we stayed in a 4 start hotel for 16 nights in Phuket .
Checking out there was how checking outs should be .
It was like saying good bye to friends who appreciated our custom and was pleased to hear we enjoyed our stay .
Amari was nothing like this .
My partner is Deaf . We found the buggy drivers drove around the complex pretty fast and at times we had to move out the way sharpish with short notice .
The complex does have corners where you couldn’t see the buggy’s coming . So was reliant on hearing them .
A number of times we noticed buggy drivers reading or writing texts on their phones whilst driving.
The doors to rooms slam loudly . Not ideal when neighbouring guests return or leave whilst you’re sleeping.
Lastly, some of the days you couldn’t get a sun-bed on the beach around midday onwards .
We estimated around 40 sun beds . But there was enough space on the beach for double that .
We also noticed non guests using the hotel facilities as there are no means set up by the Amari to make genuine guests stand out .
We did enjoy our stay at the Amari .
And maybe if the check out was better we would have given a close 5-5 .”
