I stayed here for 2 nights and the resort is huge. It features one of the largest swimming pools in Thailand. The property has a colonial-style vibe, which adds to its charm. There’s a beach across the hotel with direct access from the resort. A nearby village also has a 7-Eleven, restaurants, and small shops for basic needs.
However, you’ll need transportation if you want to go to Ao Nang, as the location is quite secluded. Overall, the vibe of the resort is very relaxing. The room was spacious and comfortable. During my stay, the pool was quite crowded at times, likely because it’s a popular feature of the resort. All the resort team members were very nice and welcoming. Breakfast at Maya Restaurant was okay, though the selection was somewhat limited.

“A fabulous, welcoming resort. Spacious, clean, delicious food, friendly and helpful staff. The pool is the best- huge at 400m long, with adults only area and fun pool activities for children (and big kids), a swim up bar also and plenty of day beds and loungers. Across the road is the beach which is lovely with views straight out to sea. Island day trip pickup is from here also. In the grounds is a Padel court and golf course. The resort is about 25mns from Ao Nang but there are plenty of Grabs to and from.
The day spa is lovely and yoga every morning is available. Our teacher Wee na was excellent.
We would definitely return for another visit. Four days passed too quickly.”

“My second time with my family and our first time as platinum member so we did enjoy at the lounge. Deena who was assisting us for check in and her kindness and service go beyond our expectations. She welcoming us with warmth and friendly smile. Also Pepsi, Katy and the rest of the team at club lounge are attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back.”

“Was mailing weeks upfront that due to two rooms it would be nice to have rooms next to each other -> fail . Not possible. Instead was asked on arrival to pay for an Upgrade to get a Suite for Hosting Four persons.
We had our Wedding anniversary day during our stay. The hotel was also informed upfront of this. Got a mail back that this is such a nice Happening and I could Book and Pay for some arrangements. Other Hotels simply would have placed a small little present/kittle gift as a compliment but not here.
One of Children was interested in the Mini club activities -> 700 baht per day as extra payment ? Really ? Also other kids activities not all free !!!
Did an excursion not organised by the hotel -> needed to pay extra (not a deposit) for taking towels outside the hotel (with some Spots on them so not new if I seemingly pay 100 baht for each which seems like the prize you pay at a Store nearby for a new towel)
The Pool was way too warm and didn’t offer any refreshment as outside temperature and water temperature were nearly equal.
On the first day in the evening the hotel had a power outage for approximately 30-45 minutes. This also Results in no water (including toilet)
Things that are good :
The Variety on the breakfast is very good. (Perhaps you can add oat milk to your list)
Rooms are clean and well maintained.
Nice decoration throughout the hotel with lots of little lovely Details added.

“From the beginning to end, great neat and professional service, the rooms are beautiful, laidback and modern, beds are cotton soft and the bar at the pool is awesome. Their breakfast has so many options and high quality. I did the boat tour and it was every Pennies worth, super friendly staff on board and smooth captain. “We had a lovely stay at Sofitel krabi. We felt so welcome the moment we arrived. The breakfast is really good and the room clean and beautiful. We want to make a special thanks to Thalia at guest experiance and Bright at the reception for an extraordinary service. They arranged a beautiful birthday celebration for our daughter and made the whole stay wonderful! We also recommend the Italian restaurant at the hotel. The food is authentic and tasty. I particularly enjoyed the complimentary activities like yoga and tennis, which added great value to the overall experience. What truly stood out, however, was the staff—they were consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay.
The on-site restaurant, White Lotus, serves good indian and thai food, and the quality is definitely commendable. That said, the portion sizes didn’t quite match the pricing—especially dishes like paneer and dal makhani, which felt a bit small for the cost.
The property is beginning to show some signs of ageing. Improvements could be made in areas such as older bathrooom fittings and less shower pressure, also the gym equipment feels somewhat outdated. Even small details, like the lack of soft-close toilet seats, stood out as areas for potential upgrade. Additionally, the resort is located a bit far from the main city areas, which can make getting around slightly inconvenient if you plan to explore.
One notable drawback is the lack of direct beach access, especially when compared to properties like Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort, which offers seamless beachfront access. The Bali resort also stands out for its more diverse dining options—including Indonesian, Italian, and international cuisine—often complemented by beachfront dining experiences and specialised bar offerings, which are somewhat limited at Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort.
During busy times, the breakfast area appeared somewhat understaffed, resulting in slower service. There were also occasional challenges with English communication, although the staff were always polite and clearly doing their best—enhancing language proficiency would further elevate the guest experience.
Overall, it’s still a great place to stay, particularly for families with kids given the facilities and activities on offer. However, for adults—especially considering the price point—it may not feel like the best value. With some refurbishment, improved dining portions, and a few enhancements to the overall experience, it could be significantly better.”

A special thank you to the amazing team at Maya Restaurant. Every visit there was a pleasure — the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We would especially like to mention Nitta, Palmy, Irg, Mook, and Nid, who were all incredibly kind, professional, and always made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. Their hospitality added so much to our stay.
We also want to sincerely thank the front desk team, who were always helpful, polite, and efficient. From check-in to any request during our stay, they handled everything with a smile and true professionalism.
A very special mention also goes to Sarawut (Farukh) from the bell staff. He was extremely friendly, helpful, and respectful, and his positive attitude left a great impression on us. Staff like him truly represent the spirit of great hospitality.

“In March 2026, my husband and I had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding at Sofitel Krabi, culminating nearly a year of meticulous planning. Despite being based in Australia, we successfully coordinated with Bew, our exceptional wedding coordinator, to ensure a seamless experience for almost 60 guests from around the world. Throughout the planning process, Bew demonstrated great organization and attention to detail, providing a comprehensive tour of the venues and contingency plans two days prior to the ceremony.
On the wedding day, despite unexpected heavy rainfall minutes prior to the ceremony, it was still held at the beach as the sky cleared up with a beautiful sunset. There were some minor discomfort as the guests mentioned that the seats were soaking wet.
Although a very quick decision, Bew and the team efficiently adapted to the situation, relocating the garden reception indoors due to wet grass and minimizing disruption for our guests. The flower arrangements, bouquets, cake, and food were exceptional, with the team catering to dietary requirements and last-minute changes.
While minor misunderstandings arose due to the size of our wedding party, they did not detract from the overall positive experience. We appreciate the supplier recommendations provided by Sofitel, including makeup, photography, videography, and signage services, all of which offered affordable and excellent service. Even our celebrant, Don was fantastic and made the ceremony and sand pouring ritual a great experience.
The team also surprised us with a wedding night room service with a cute and artsy congratulations sign.
As part of the wedding package, we enjoyed a complimentary dinner and massage at Sofitel. We extend our gratitude to the White Lotus team, Sol, and the entire team for the personalized caricature and handwritten card. The So Spa team provided a fantastic experience, complete with a bouquet and personalized touches.
We also stayed at Sofitel for 9 days and enjoyed the amenities that the hotel has offered. All of the staff are nice and friendly.
