Deluxe View Room (Adventure Tower) We have stayed 8 nights in March 2025, Originally we were booked for a standard view room, however upon check in we were advised that our room had the 2 queen bed set up and if we wanted to have a room with a king bed, we will need to upgrade to a deluxe view room due to availability at the time. We have decided to for the upgrade at check-in, as we much prefer a king bed. Overall, the stay was pleasant and we generally enjoy our stays at this hotel. I have the history and Disney feeling this hotel provides but let’s just say, the value of this is very much disappearing when comparing to previous trips. Previously, we have enjoyed the 1 hour early into a Disneyland resort park benefit of this hotel, on this 2025 trip, that was reduced to 30mins and at the time I write this review in 2026, this benefit is completely gone. This hotel was never about “value” but the removal of benefits reduced its appeal and specialness. Our room had a view of the Disneyland Hotel pool which is nice in the day and beautiful at night when its all lit up. The space in the room itself for just the 2 of us was plenty, but with a larger group it could feel a bit tight, but that would be normal any standard hotel room. The room had a small refresh since our last visit in 2018 which was nice, but the bathrooms are really showing their age. Location is great as it is on Disney property, so right outside of hotel is Downtown Disney, which you walk through to the 2 parks (5-10min walk). We enjoy the walk between the park and the hotel however some people say it’s a bit too far but that all really comes down to personal preferences and situations. The security process can be time consuming at times, this is certainly something Disney needs to work on by improving the efficiency/time it takes to get through security screening, especially at peak times. Overall, I still say this is a great hotel for people that love Disney and love Disneyland history, however if that doesn’t mean that much you, I suggest staying at an off-property hotels at a lower price point including some of the true luxury hotels (JW Marriott & Westin).

  • Cast Members Make The REAL Magic Here!

    10/10

“The Disneyland Hotel has always been THE place to stay. Our recent visit illustrated why we've kept returning. The Cast Members are truly the ones who make magic happen. We felt genuinely cared for. Shout out to the front desk crew- Brittany, Elena, Ernesto and Penny for all their kindness and hard work to solve an issue that we had. They were patient, thoughtful and shared useful insights for our visit. What's more is that not only did they make us feel like royalty, but when we saw some of them later in the visit, they stopped to ask us how things were going. Now, that is real service! With all that they had going on, they took the time to stop for a moment to check in with us. It meant a LOT. We had the opportunity to stay in a club level room and have access to the High Key Club. We've stayed concierge level before and it has always been a great experience and this was once again, incredible. The cast members in the lounge were attentive, kind and genuine without hovering or making you feel like you were being "watched." If we needed something, we asked and they provided service with a smile! Thank you to Robert, Cynthia, Guille and Kay for making it extra special. It was a pleasure to see each of you when we would trudge in after a busy park day or in the mornings. The food offerings in the lounge were also top-notch! Breakfast items included bagels, bread, pastries, hot chocolate, fresh fruit (grapes, pineapple, strawberries, apples, bananas), oatmeal and hot biscuits & gravy as well as sliced salmon, ham and turkey. During the afternoon snack time there were pretzels, chips, uncrustables, trail mix fixings, tea sandwiches and of course, fruit but the best part of all was the freezer with ice cream novelties...including the great Mickey Mouse ice cream bars! Evening provided warm appetizers that could and did serve as a meal. Items like arepas, shrimp, egg rolls and other items like cold meats, veggie spreads, cheese, crackers, fruit and breads provided. The drink cooler was always stocked with Coca Cola, Coke Zero, Sprite, Ginger Ale, juice, milk and bottled water for the grab-and-go! The desserts at night varied with cookies (sugar, chocolate chip, and oatmeal), mini cheesecakes, cake pops, various cobblers and rice krispie treats (Mickey shaped, of course!). The rooms are clean and cozy. Our room was perfectly clean and the housekeeping provided extra towels on request. Beds were extremely comfortable. Do keep in mind that this hotel is 70 years old, and despite a couple of remodels, the buildings do show their age a little bit and if this bothers you, stay somewhere else if modern updates are more to your taste. Rooms have plenty of lighting, lamps and alarm clocks do have USB ports. Bathrooms provide several lighting options instead of just one big florescent light. Bathrooms here are shower/tub combinations so if you want a standalone shower, those aren't here. Ice machines on every floor and efficient elevators provide exactly what we need! Truly, no complaints about the room. Water pressure is on the lower side but that is not a dealbreaker for us. Water was warm/hot as needed for showering. The ambience of the entire hotel complex is calming. Beautiful DISNEY themed music plays throughout the grounds and each hotel tower (Fantasy, Adventure and Frontier) provide their own themed music loops as you enter. The Discovery Tower is the newer DVC building. We did not stay here, but did see a room and despite it's "newness" is not to our liking. We much prefer the original Disneyland Hotel rooms. Again, thank you to all of the staff that we interacted with for making our stay the very, very best.”

“The Disneyland hotel is a Must stay! Nothing beats the smell, the atmosphere, the cast members or the food! We spent 4 nights in the Fantasy tower standard queen room 2623 the 8th floor. We could watch the fireworks laying in bed without having to pay a higher rate. The room was very clean and the beds are SO comfortable..Ordering room service for breakfast I found was cheaper than eating in the park and always arrived fairly quick and was hot.Very sound proof rooms. The pool is beautiful, but was to chilly to really swim the week we were there. The Monorail is only a 5 minute walk from the Fantasy tower. PRO’S -Everything Disney -Clean -Close to Downtown Disney and the Monorail -No need to check in at front desk as app wil let you know when room is ready and can use app to unlock hotel room -Goofys Kitchen is downstairs -Huge gift shop -Cast members are so friendly and helpful CONS -Lobby can get very busy -pretty expensive to stay Also to note we purchased the priemere pass for one day at the parks and was totally worth the $399 per person. We did 18 lightning lanes and our day was so laid back and relaxing. No running back and forth to get your lighting lane or spending all your time on the app to book them. We started at Indiana Jones and made our way around the whole park and then walked over to DCA.”

“We have stayed at many disney properties and have been on disney cruises and know the brand is usually great. We like the convenience and expext a clean and great experience for the price you pay. We stayed in the Frontier building this time. The room was clean went entering. It was small and dated. When we used the shower it had chipped tile, the grout was dirty and the overflow plate on the faucet wasn't attached. The sink had chips and looked dirty. The towels were thin and old. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. On our third night we came back to a dirty room, housekeeping skipped our services. I voiced my concerns when checking out and Natalie a supervisor was rude and did not want to hear the complaints. This was a very disappointing trip especially for the $800 plus a night we spent.”

  • Disappointing and I'm a Disney fanatic

“First off, the hotel staff was great, as you'd expect from Disney. And the location is fantastic for walking into the parks. Sadly, the hotel room was a huge disappointment, particularly at this price point. We stayed in the Frontier tower. When we first arrived, the sink was clogged and one of the lights in the room did not work. We called down and they sent someone to fix them. The phone handset didn't work. You had to use the speaker phone. The room was on the cool side. We set the temp to 73 and later 74, but it never got above 70. We had a room with two queen beds, but you could not sit on the edge of the bed without sliding off onto the floor. Hence, without a normal, supportive edge to the mattresses, it felt like you were sleeping in a double bed. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels in my life and I can honestly say I don't recall ever having a mattress with that problem before. There's no fan in the bathroom, which is annoying for multiple reasons. No one wants to hear you doing your business from out in the room, and when multiple people are showering, the third person is forced to be in a sauna. There's also no sink in the room with the shower and toilet, which is unhygienic. I had to crouch down in the shower to wash my hair and I'm only 6 feet tall. The sink had minimal water pressure. And you had the choice of water that was too hot to use, or cold water. There was no in between. If you turned on the warm water tap, the temp was too hot to keep your hand under the stream. If you then turned on the cold water tap, even very slightly, the temp instantly dropped to cool and then cold. No matter what you do from then on, you cannot get warm water back without closing both taps, and then turning on the hot water tap only. I won't get into the prices of things at the hotel's stores, because if you've ever visited Disney, you know what's coming. But overall, I would not stay here again. I believe you can stay offsite nearby for less and hopefully get a nicer room, and only walk a few minutes more. And since they've dropped the early entry benefit for staying onsite, you'd no longer be missing out on that.”

  • Convenient location for visiting the parks

“First trip to Disneyland and enjoyed our stay at the Disneyland Hotel. We liked the convenient location which allowed us to walk directly to the parks after going through the Downtown Disney area. The hotel was nice and maintained even though it's one of the original buildings. The staff we interacted with during our stay were all friendly. The only disappointment for us was the "preferred view" that we paid extra for. We basically had a view of a roof and a city roadway.”

“Wow! It has been about 10 years since I stayed here last and what a delight this stay was! I was able to afford this hotel because I was attending a professional conference at the hotel. This made the room rate more affordable. The hotel is old but very well maintained. The first room I was put in was next to the elevator and I could hear the elevators going up and down all night long. the front desk was able to quickly find a new room for me down the hall in the same floor the next morning. The rooms are impeccable and have so many hidden Mickeys. The grounds, pool and restaurants are impeccable and easy to mobile order from and run down to get food to bring back to the room. I did need to request Facilities to come and pour something down the bathroom sink as it was pretty smelly every time I turned on the water. When I requested - the stag knew right away what to do and after the remedy there were no more concerns about turning the water in the bathroom sink. I live this hotel and would stay in here again if I can afford it. This hotel is awesome!”

  • The Perfect Hotel for Our Kids’ First Disneyland Trip

    10/10

    MomEmpireCo · Family · 2025-12-07

“We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for our first official Disney trip with the kids, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The whole hotel feels fun, magical, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. Everything was clean, bright, and full of those little Disney touches that make the kids light up instantly. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for all the bags, snacks, and kid stuff that comes with a family vacation. The headboard lights up with fireworks, which became one of our kids’ favorite things every night. It truly feels like Disney magic inside the room, not just in the parks. One of the biggest perks of staying here is how easy it is to walk to Disneyland and California Adventure. For a first trip, that convenience is everything. Being able to take a midday break, grab a nap, or let the kids unwind without a long commute made our days so much smoother. And of course, Goofy’s Kitchen — our absolute favorite character breakfast. It’s right here at the Disneyland Hotel, and even if you’re not staying at the hotel, you can still come for breakfast. The characters, the energy, the food… it’s such a fun way to start the day and perfect for little ones experiencing Disney for the first time. Overall, the Disneyland Hotel is ideal for families who want comfort, convenience, and a full dose of Disney magic. It made our first trip with the kids unforgettable, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.”

  • Great amenities and convenience but reserve ahead for dining

“I love this hotel. Very close to the parks and Downtown Disney. The pools are bigger and better than the ones at the Grand Californian Hotel. The pool service was good too. The only thing I would like to point out is that is always very difficult to make restaurant reservations at the most popular ones (always make reservations 60 days in advance). But for hotel guests, I think they should reserve some tables at the hotel restaurant.”

  • Just not worth the expense anymore

“I rented DVC points to stay in a Duo Studio in mid-October at The Villas. I had booked and paid for a Standard View but when I received the text with my room assignment, to my surprise, I was upgraded to a Preferred View! This might have been due to my late arrival time, around 10:30pm. This was my 11th trip to Disneyland Resort, my fourth time staying on the property. I have to say, I do not think it is worth it. The price is exorbitant for what is offered, and particularly with the early entry benefit going away in January 2026, there is really no reason to stay in the Disney-owned hotels. The Duo Studio was the perfect size for my solo stay, but the layout is frankly odd. The bathroom is enormous and roughly the same size as the sleeping area. I have no problem with the Murphy beds, typically, but this mattress felt a little on the thin side. This room did have a very large balcony, which was nice - but soundproofing to the outside was poor and I found myself wishing they had left me in a Standard View room, as noise of shouting and laughing from the pool carried right into my third floor room even with the balcony door shut and locked. The Duo Studio has a mini fridge with a small freezer compartment, a microwave, and a coffee maker. I really enjoyed the provided 70th Anniversary Blend pods provided, so much so that I bought some of the ground beans from the gift shop. There is no toaster oven. They provide dishes but no soap or sponges, and you have to do the washing in the bathroom sink, so that’s not optimal. Also just not a convenient place to eat, particularly in a room if you didn’t have a balcony. It would just be the small coffee tables to eat off of. I did find the storage to be plentiful. Towels were thin and scratchy, not what I expect from a hotel at this price point. The room, particularly in the couch area, was dim even with all lights on. Unlike other DVC properties, laundry is not free for studio guests. Perhaps this is because the laundry room for the entire Hotel is in the DVC tower, but that could be a disappointment for longer stays. The gym looked nice, the vending machine had cheaper sodas than buying bottles in the parks, and I liked the pool area - plus you have access to the main hotel’s slides and pools as well. I do appreciate that shampoo, conditioner, body wash, liquid hand soap, and lotion are all provided in the room. With the perk of Early Entry through 2025 and the savings provided by renting DVC points, the expense of staying here was just barely worth it. I don’t expect to be back anytime soon.”

  • Disneyland and the Resort are being neglected!

“We stayed here in October 2025 mainly for the monorail access to the park. We found that the monorail is shut down when the temp is over 83 degrees as it was too hot to ride in the cars. The occurred on several days during our stay. I asked why there was no AC in the cars and was told they were old “hand me down” cars from Florida. For as much as the resort costs to stay here, I don’t expect second hand equipment. In addition, many of the rides were out of service at times during the day due to unexpected mechanical problems. We normally are impressed with Disney, but it appears Disneyland is being neglected. I believe Walt would disappointed in the run down condition of the equipment.”

Mobile check in made it easy to check in and out.”

  • A Disappointing Stay That Fell Short of Disney Standards

    2/10

    U4031TQraquelc · Family · 2025-10-12

“Our family had been looking forward to our stay at the Disneyland Hotel for months. We’ve stayed at other Disney resorts and even sailed on Disney cruises, so we know what Disney’s true hospitality feels like — warm, welcoming, and full of magic. Unfortunately, this experience was the opposite. Some of the concierge staff were surprisingly rude and dismissive, which was disheartening from the start. The hotel itself felt run-down, with trays of room service left in hallways for hours. Live music in the concierge lounge was cancelled without notice, and unlike other families, we never received the welcome tour or introduction to the lounge that should come with Club Level service. I do have to say that some of the servers were truly trying their best, they were so friendly and helpful despite having their hands full; and the coffee machine was pretty cool. The most upsetting moment came when the concierge desk staff called two security guards after we calmly expressed our disappointment — an unnecessary and intimidating response that left us embarrassed and shaken. We were never confrontational; we simply wanted to be heard. Our kids cried in the car on the way home, confused and upset about what had happened. It broke our hearts, and honestly, it’s changed how we see the Disney brand. For the price and reputation, we expected so much more compassion, professionalism, and care. I submitted a detailed guest survey over a week ago and still haven’t received any follow-up. I truly hope Disney management takes this feedback seriously and restores the warmth and magic that families have always believed in.”

“The price you pay implies special but it is actually just mediocre. I visited with my sister and our daughters. The room was visually clean, but the details were overlooked, for example the air exchange vent was covered in dust. The sink has a sewer smell and the furniture is broken. The water pressure was poor and the temperature would not stay consistent. The water pipes were audibly rattling when you turned in the hot water. The bath towels were rough and not the quality you would expect at this hotel. There were also no nice amenities like water in the room. The only redeeming quality is the location.”

“We had no hot water at any time of day in our bathroom. It got lukewarm at best. We realized it late on our first night and were only staying 2 nights. We didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to move rooms or take any time away from the things we wanted to do to deal with it. Knowing the Disney staff, I'm sure they would have done something. This is no knock on them, at all since we didn't even tell them. The only point of this review is to tell people to check your shower before you unpack so that the hotel staff can move you or compensate you while it's not a giant headache to do so, because I'm pretty sure this is not all that unusual based on other reviews.”

“On September 22, 2025 I checked into the Disneyland Hotel/ Discovery Tower with my family. The security guard there was by the elevator all afternoon and into the evening. If I walked right out and then turned around and came back in I got carded by security EVERY SINGLE TIME! Every time I was asked "Where is your room card?" Even coming back from dinner that night a family of 4 was in front of my family by no more than 8 feet. They DID NOT get carded was allowed to just get on the elevators, but of course, we were stopped and asked for our room key card. Next morning, no security and I told the lady at the front desk who stated she's heard others say the same thing. Certain guest are questioned if they belong there or not. In my 17 years as a DVC member I have never been singled out as to whether I belong or not. Things have changed and that is sad. I have tried emailing DVC and calling and got no where. In addition I have noticed if the conversation goes well with customer service you will get a survey. If not, no survey will come. Same thing with my stay at Disneyland Hotel. I was there at all 3 Disney hotels/resorts (Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel and Pixar Place). Got a survey for Grand Californian. No survey for Disneyland Hotel. I have been having Disney vacations since 2004 when my son was 5 on our first Disney Cruise. I'm now platinum with the cruise line, DVC times 2 and the list goes on and on, etc. This is a first for me and I was extremely disappointed to be singled out clearly when no one else was. I tried to notify DVC and bring attention to it and it fell on deaf ears. I am posting for others to be careful at this place as well as hopes that Disney will do better on how they treat their guests.”

  • If You Wish Upon a Star...

    10/10

    Ragnarsson23 · Couples · 2025-09-15

“As a kid from a working-class family, growing up in Buena Park in the 1990s, staying at the Disneyland Hotel was a dream akin to going to the moon: fantastical and impossible! While the price of this Hotel will be enough to deter most budget-conscious visitors, I can honestly say that setting aside extra cash for a few months to stay in the Disneyland hotel is absolutely worth it! My mother used to say, “Staying at the Disneyland hotel is for rich people, and we will never be able to do that!”. Well, I have that kind of money now, so TAKE THAT, MOM! Vibe / Atmosphere: From the moment you arrive, the Disneyland charm is on full display. The grounds are immaculately kept, and the entrance to the hotel is shaded with palm trees. The décor throughout has a ’60s retro vibe. Then once I entered, I was impressed with the cleanliness and charm, both professional and welcoming at the same time. The decoration is, above all, cleanly designed, and balanced perfectly between “garden” and “concrete”. Service / Staff: At the time I visited, everything was so streamlined that I didn’t have to talk to a single representative to check in! From the Disney App, I was checked in before I even arrived, and my room key was built into the app (and made a delightful magic woosh sound when it opened the door). However, when we did interact with staff at the gift shop and convenience store, they were genuinely interested in our plans while staying at the hotel. And even gave us some relevant tips for visiting during the Halloween rush season. I would have more to say on this, but we simply didn’t need the assistance of the staff much at all! The app automates so many features of your stay that it is easy to be self-sufficient throughout your time here. Cleanliness / Comfort: There is a common theme among reviews I have read that this is an older hotel. And while that is true, the rooms have been refurbished in the last decade or so. And they are kept incredibly clean. Unlike many hotels in the area, these rooms do not appear to show their age nearly as much. There are minor noticeable things like the grouting and size of the tubs that indeed hint at this being built a long time ago in an economy far away, but nothing that detracted from the experience for me personally. The room we stayed in had an excellent view overlooking the front of the hotel, and the wall-to-wall window was an incredible way to let the morning sun into the room. The beds were very comfortable, and the chairs were as well. I rarely use hotel furniture other than the bed, but I was surprised to say I spent a good amount of time just lounging in the chair, looking out the window at the park. Food / Amenities (if applicable): The amenities in the room are the standard that one would expect in any hotel of this caliber (hairdryer, mini-fridge, TV, etc). There were also robes provided, which were just delightful, and of course had the Disney Logo on them. What You Did (activities / duration / standout moments): We stayed at this hotel for four nights. The short walk to the parks, the access to restaurants, the convenience of shops in the lobby, and the overall attentiveness of the staff (not to mention the convenience of the app) made our stay simply wonderful. Each day blends into the next, and we left all of our time and attention to navigating the parks. We did visit the Disneyland Park for three out of the four days, and one evening at the Oogie Boogie Halloween party in California Adventure. That is a truly STANDOUT event, and well worth the special ticket price. Oogie Boogie Bash was the highlight of our stay, to be sure! We did not use the pool during our stay, but I have used it in a previous stay, and it is lovely. While we didn’t spend much time in the room itself, the grounds of the hotel kept the “Disney magic” experience alive for us from the Park to the Room. Pros & Cons Pros: There are MANY pros to staying at this hotel; however, I must say that the unequivocal winner is the proximity to the Disney Property. If you stay at the hotel, you might also get early entry to the park on select days. The security line to get into Downtown Disney is relatively shorter (not always SHORT in the strictest sense) but short-ER than the main security entrance from the public street. The option to take the Mono-Rail from inside the park to the Downtown Disney stop, which is a quarter-mile stroll to your hotel from there, is convenience worth the extra cash? And if you have already used your ticket once that day, you can jump on the monorail and ride it straight into the park, no muss, no fuss. That is a pretty impressive convenience, in my opinion. Cons: For me personally, the value is worth every penny. That said, for many people, the main con here will be the price point (which can get as high as $1000 a night for a standard room during peak seasons). For many visitors on a budget, the price is simply cost-prohibitive. That is the main con of staying at this hotel. And to a lesser degree, having to walk all the way through the Downtown Disney property (especially in crowded hours) can be an extra distance you may not want to do after a long day of waiting in lines to get on rides. Tips for Future Travelers (optional): If you are willing to pay the extra money and you can afford it, I highly recommend doing so! That established, even if you have a large budget for your stay, you should keep in mind that food is not included anywhere on the property. The prices of meals can add up, especially if you are staying for three or more days, as we did. My recommendation is to budget for about $100 a day per person if you plan to eat three meals a day (or do your wallet a favor and buy some groceries you can fit in the mini-fridge). I also, of course, recommend downloading the app well in advance of your trip, because you will HAVE to use it for virtually everything. Most memorable feeling or moment: The most enrapturing and honest-to-gods deal maker for me is the Headboards! The headboards may seem like a minor stylistic addition to some, but the “goodnight kiss” feature that lights up and plays wish upon a star is just the Disney Magic special touch that makes staying at this hotel worth it. Playing that thing each night for my partner before bed was the absolute highlight of my trip!”

“I’ve been looking through reviews after my trip, and am shocked to see that nobody else has struggled with cockroaches! When we were packing to go home, we discovered a cockroach in my sister’s luggage, and I know for a fact that that can’t be the only one that was in the room. Otherwise, I had a good experience, (staff, pool, ambiance, etc.) but this cockroach was an automatic FAIL. Nightmare to deal with after coming home. Come in September though! Very empty!”
