“We spent a long weekend at the Ranch and had a lovely visit. The rooms are spacious and the grounds are impeccable. We enjoyed a round of golf at the on site nine hole golf course and found it very well maintained - a beautiful little course. We took the free HIIT class offered on the weekend and had a lot of fun. There is also a small but well appointed gym and a spa (which we did not use).
We ate dinner and a couple of lunches at the Harvest restaurant and the food was good but the service was outstanding.
The hotel is a few miles from downtown but they have a shuttle if you don’t want to deal with parking. There is also a small beach less than a half mile away where you can get free chairs if you’re staying at the hotel. However, it’s a public beach and it’s very small and very crowded with families and lots of kids on the weekend (we avoided it).
While the rooms are pricey, everything is expensive at Laguna Beach. The Ranch is a smaller, more intimate resort and the staff make it truly special.”

The Rooms: Our accommodations were spotlessly clean, spacious, and beautifully designed with a relaxed, coastal-chic vibe that made it easy to unwind.
Exceptional Dining: We had an incredible dining experience. Every dish was fresh and beautifully prepared, but what truly elevated our night was the service. Chris was especially attentive, warm, and went above and beyond to make sure our group was perfectly taken care of.
Beautiful Grounds & Garden: Taking a stroll through their organic garden was a highlight! It was so charming to see the chickens and experience the sustainable, farm-to-table spirit of the resort up close.

“Our family just spent the weekend at The Ranch for our son's wedding, and all I can say is WOW. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we felt truly cared for.
I hosted both the rehearsal dinner and welcome party at The Ranch, so I had been working with the events team for months leading up to the wedding. As any parent planning a wedding knows, there are a lot of moving pieces and plenty of opportunities for things to go wrong. Thankfully, that was never the case here.
A huge thank you to Haley. She was incredible from start to finish. She was always responsive, answered every question I had, and helped make the planning process feel effortless. When we arrived at the property, she personally welcomed me and continued to check on me throughout the weekend. She genuinely cared that everything was exactly how I envisioned it.
Chris was equally amazing. He checked on us throughout the rehearsal dinner, welcome party, and wedding day. It wasn't just good customer service—it felt like he was personally invested in making sure our family had the best possible experience.
The front desk staff was exceptional as well. I wish I could remember their names because they deserve recognition. They greeted me by my first name when I arrived. They were warm and welcoming every time we interacted with them.
The rehearsal dinner and welcome party were absolutely perfect. Every detail was handled beautifully. The staff constantly checked in with me to make sure everything was to my liking, and I never once had to track anyone down or worry about any issues. The service was incredible—even down to the staff placing napkins in our laps at dinner. It was clear that attention to detail is a priority at The Ranch.
Housekeeping was top-notch. We arrived to find a bottle of champagne and a handwritten note waiting in our room, which was such a thoughtful touch. Throughout our stay, our room was attended to multiple times, and we were always stocked with fresh towels, water, and every amenity we could need. We truly felt spoiled.
And then there is the property itself. It is absolutely beautiful. The wedding was picture-perfect, and the setting could not have been more stunning. Every corner of the property feels special. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous everything was.
What impressed me most was the consistency. Every single staff member we encountered seemed happy to be there and genuinely interested in making our stay memorable. That level of service is rare.
As the mother of the groom, I can honestly say The Ranch helped make one of the most important weekends of our lives absolutely unforgettable. We made memories that will last a lifetime, and I am so grateful to everyone who played a part in making it so special.

“My stay at The Ranch at Laguna Beach felt completely different from a traditional resort experience in the best possible way. The property has a peaceful, tucked-away atmosphere while still being just a short walk from the ocean and some of Laguna Beach’s best spots.
One of the coolest features is the safe underground tunnel that takes you beneath the road directly to the beach area. Once across, there’s a small beachfront spot for beers, drinks, and light bites that made for a perfect casual stop during the day.
The location is excellent — you’re also within walking distance of Montage Laguna Beach, which makes it easy to explore the surrounding area while still returning to a much more quiet and natural environment at The Ranch.
The property itself is spread across beautifully maintained grounds with multiple smaller lodging buildings rather than one massive hotel tower. Having around 10 or so rooms per building gives the resort a much more private and relaxed feel.
There’s plenty to do on property as well. The Harvest restaurant was excellent, the golf course adds to the laid-back California atmosphere, and there’s also a spa, bocce ball courts, and a pool that all fit naturally into the setting without feeling overcrowded or overdeveloped.
One thing that really stood out was the resort’s eco-conscious approach. You can tell sustainability and environmental awareness are genuinely part of how they operate and design the property rather than just marketing language. The entire resort blends naturally into the landscape and feels intentionally low-impact while still delivering a luxury experience.
Overall, The Ranch at Laguna Beach is ideal if you want a more relaxed, nature-focused, and thoughtfully designed coastal getaway that still gives you easy access to the beach and nearby Laguna attractions.”

Service and staff: truly top notch. Every team member, every department, every aspect. The spa massage was heavenly. Harvest Restaurant is a 5 Star experience. Lost Pier Cafe also excellent. Wedding and reception staff and facilities are the best of the best. Housekeeping on point. Golf cart staff to help move you about when needed are

There is something to note about the rooms, which is the reason I rated 4 instead of 5 stars. The bed was perfection comfort wise; but the only option within our budget was a king size bed. This meant we would have needed to upgrade well above the special group rate to accommodate our needs. It ended up ok because I was staying with a family member but for the price would definitely have appreciated separate beds. Our room could have used a bit of freshening/updating in the way of modern amenities like a functional bedside clock and updated USB ports. The hair dryer was about 10 years old and is probably on its last legs because of the noise and lack of drying capacity. The bathroom was very clean but had a noticeable and strong musty smell. This made the difference in my rating. Perhaps not all rooms have these issues though.
I would definitely return if my budget allow$ it.”

The kind and helpful staff is really what sets it apart, however. Everyone is so warm and sincere. The dining room is gorgeous and the food excellent. The whole compound is lovely and peaceful. I love all of the vegetation. They even grow some of the food onsite. The vibe is very mellow, but there is plenty to do. It's also quite eco-friendly, which I loved. They have a pool, spa, bocce court, 9 hole golf course, etc. I will definitely hope to return. Thank you!”
