“We were in town to see the Phantom of the Opera for my girlfriends birthday. I had always wanted to stay at the Peninsula Beverly Hills and our experience surpassed all expectations. The entire staff was extremely welcoming and made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The Living Room Tea was a terrific experience which I would recommend to anyone. The property was beautifully maintained and our room was spacious and quiet. The team went above and beyond in all areas. The highlight was arriving back in our room from the show to find a custom designed Phantom of the Opera cake! It was delicious and a great reminder of the level of service the Peninsula dedicates itself to. We look forward to future stays with the Peninsula and consider it a home away from home!”
Superb Service Makes the Difference

“We last stayed at the PBH about 12 years ago. I remembered it as being a very good hotel. But this stay was truly superb. The hotel was much as we remembered--no major renovation that was apparent. So you might think the facilities are getting a little shabby. Nothing could be further from the truth. The hotel gleamed--immaculately clean, extremely well maintained, and classic without seeming dated. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped, as you would expect from a luxury hotel. The location is conveniently central for West LA, but quiet. The food in the restaurant is excellent. But what really makes this hotel fantastic is the service provided by the top notch staff. Everyone we encountered was genuinely warm, friendly, and eager to serve. From the front door bell staff and valets, to the concierge, bar, and restaurant staff, the standard of service was truly exemplary.”

“The Peninsula Beverly Hills is the epitome of luxury! The property is absolutely immaculate, and the staff is lovely and attentive. I even got to see Ben Stein having lunch at the pool. On my final day, I decided I wanted to get Botox before going home. The concierge Kerri was excellent, and managed to secure me a last-minute appointment at Beverly Wilshire Aesthetics, and I love my results!”
The only hotel in LA we’d stay at from now on.

“I recently stayed at the property and was very impressed. The beds are very comfortable, the service was wonderful, the concierge Kerri was very helpful (my request was very much out of her scope, yet she was very kind and helpful, which I appreciated very much). I have previously stayed exclusively at the BHH but would recommend The Peninsula to anyone, any day.”

“Such personalized service. I mentioned we were coming for Kanye and I was floored that they had set up 4 clear backpacks with water Gatorade glowies and snacks. And of course the monogrammed pillowcases. They know your name and everybody is so solicitous you feel the warmth of a long lost family reunion. A nice contrast to the impersonal sense you can sometimes get in LaLa land.”
Exceptional in many ways

“We stayed at The Peninsula Beverly Hills for a family vacation with my wife, kids, and in-laws, and overall it was a really strong experience.
We booked two rooms through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts. Before arriving, I called to ask about a possible upgrade—while that would have been about 3x the price, the team was helpful and instead arranged adjoining rooms for us, which worked out perfectly for a family trip.
I’ll admit, I had read some negative reviews before arriving, which made me a bit hesitant. But in our experience, we didn’t encounter any of those issues—which is actually why I felt compelled to write this review.
First impressions matter, and they nailed it. The private motor court entrance and valet setup immediately set the tone—elegant, smooth, and not overly crowded despite being in Beverly Hills.
We booked base-level rooms, and honestly, they exceeded expectations. They were very comfortable, well-appointed, and a good size—not cramped at all. Everything felt polished and thoughtfully designed.
Where this hotel really stands out is the service. It’s consistently excellent across the board—from the doormen to housekeeping to the waitstaff. Everyone was attentive without being overbearing, and it made a noticeable difference throughout the stay.
We also spent time at the pool, which was a great spot to relax, and made use of the car service, which was incredibly convenient for getting around. One practical tip: bring cash for tips—you’ll want it, given the level of service.
The overall feel actually reminded me of The Langham in London—classic luxury, not trendy, but done really well.
No major downsides to note. I’d absolutely stay here again and would recommend it, especially for families looking for a comfortable, high-service hotel in a great location.”
New York is much better, this location falls short. Never staying here again

“The stay was ok, but the really rude manager, who used to be the bar manager but she got promoted, Rebecca, was really rude to me and my dad. She was extremely unprofessional. I have also heard bad things about her from the staff who work at Peninsula New York, where I stay sometimes, saying she used to work at the bar there, but once she got promoted it got to her head and started treating all of the staff badly. A server, who I will let remain nameless, said that he is supposed to get a complimentary stay at peninsula hotels when he is travelling, but when he was in Beverly Hills Rebecca refused his employee privilege for no reason. Absolutely horrible people out there, this is shocking and just a reminder.”
Cockroaches in rooms. Rudest manager and terrible service, NOT 5 star.

“I spent a few days here and Rebecca is very rude and unprofessional. They don’t take car of the guests and are arrogant and rude. Not a 5 star hotel. Take your money and go to a place where they treat you well, and there are many of them in Beverly Hills. There are also cockroaches in the rooms. I switched 3 rooms because of it”
Rebecca is a rude MANager and treats the guests like trash. Stay at bel air, Beverly Hills, Bev wilshire, or maybourne

“After staying 2 weeks, my cats didn’t go through. I called my bank to clear the charge but they wouldn’t let me check back in. The manager, Rebecca, said he saw my name pop up on a “database” and said I should leave, and that I am LOITERING. Really? After I got along so well with all of the staff and spent thousands of dollars, as soon as my card doesn’t go through and I am calling my bank I am loitering? Wow, ridiculous. Rudest and most incompetent so-called manager ever. Stay at the Beverly Hills hotel, bel air hotel, beverly Wilshire, or maybourne instead, where they treat you with respect and have actually good service. The rooms are also old and small, and they have a bee hive problem. 6 bees flew into my room within an hour of me having the window open. Also they allow people to smoke strong weed on the property. Terribly bad hotel don’t stay here”

“We were dining guests of the Belvedere. Kitchen staff was terrible for a Thanksgiving, Holiday Menu and what you would expect for the holiday was missing. Raviolis and dry tasteless turkey etc The.charge for 3 dinners plus one cocktail $1000. The Peninsula Gaddis in Kowloon former restaurant in Repulse Bay and in tokyo hotel contributed for their star rating”

“Classic hotel with top tier service - the staff is amazing. Special thanks to Dillon and Justin at the rooftop food/pool who were super helpful and went out of their way to try to ensure I was well taken care of. Both are gems. Servers Juan and Kenneth were also top notch. The concierge including Kerri were great and the complimentary Rolls for rides into town driven by Max was a nice touch. Food was excellent all around including breakfast and in the bar lounge, and I appreciated the free morning coffee. The rooms are a bit small for a family of 4 (we had 2 double beds) and are nice with comfortable mattresses/sheets but felt dated, and the HVAC system was noisy. Several of the front desk staff including Victor, Natsumi, Marcelo, Ariana and Ben all tried to help me find a quieter replacement but nothing seemed to fit our needs. I asked for a quiet room including away from HVAC prior to my stay as I am a light sleeper, but was told my room was actually close to the HVAC unit on the roof. Overall a decent experience but don't think I will be returning.”
Excellent in every aspect except for breakfast

“Having just stayed in 12 luxury hotels (Bel Air, Peninsula Beverly Hills, Four Seasons Palm beach, Faena Miami beach, Waldorf Astoria Park city, W Aspen, St. Regis San Francisco, Waldorf Astoria Vegas, etc) around the USA, I have a fresh feel to review these hotels with great comparisons.
Having just stayed at both the Bel Air and the Peninsula, which I consider the two best hotels in LA, the top pick really depends on your preferences.
This hotel has a great location, with in walking distance to Rodeo Drive etc. Bel Air is super secluded, but offers the best privacy in LA. But in my opinion, you do get enough privacy here too.
The service here was excellent, literally nothing in terms of service could have been better, even considering the sky high expectations. The staff at the lobby new our names even before we provided our IDs. They were so full of joy and welcomed us so warmly, that it almost felt like coming home, even tho it was our first time at the hotel.
The lugagge were taken from the car without usbeven noticing and delivered to the room. The valet even asked if we wanted the backsests back up, no other hotel has ever asked that!
We were upgraded to a huge suite for our stay. The pillows had our initials. The welcome amenity and champagne was excellent.
The bed was first class, soft and silky linen.
The pool area is beutiful and very relaxing. Its nicely small, so it does not turn into a resort feel, but remains quiet and intimate. Service over there was also very anticipating. The pool area never got crowded either. Even tho the pool and pool area is bigger at Bel Air, it felt more like a family resort as there were many kids playing and jumping. Peninsula pool felt more higher end for that reason.
The only downside is that the valet and front yard can get very crowded as many people come for a tea time on weekends. As we checked out, we waited for our car for 25 minutes atleast. Also the service at breakfast felt a bit cold, a huge difference to the rest of the staff.
All in all, I would definitely visit again!”
