“My family including our toddler came to the Westin Monache for a week vacation. The hotel is well situated in the village and clean, rooms very spacious and comfortable, and the amenities (pool, restaurant) quite good. Unfortunately, the rest of my family got sick and we had to cut our trip short. As we were pulling out of the driveway to head home, we discovered a flat tire. Tanner, one of the bellmen, was incredibly gracious and helped us unload our car and change the tire for a spare, while Willow, one of the concierges, called around the area to a number of mechanics and located the only one open and available (in Bishop 45 min away) to change the tires. Plus, because we left early, the Westin did not charge us for additional nights. Tanner, Willow, and the entire Westin Monache team were so helpful during a particularly stressful time, and we made it home safely the next day. While we were sad to cut our time short we will absolutely return to Mammoth in the near future and stay at the Westin.”

“As a Marriott Ambassador Elite member, I expect exemplary service at each Marriott property. This was no exception. Willow, the conceirge indivdual, provided professional and informative service. I was routinely asking her for places to go and what to do and she did not disappoint. She is truly a remarkable person. The hotel is under slight construction in the front but not too bad for the guests. Currently, there isn't a lounge or a kitchen. But there is room service. IDK. The rooms were good size and the views are remarkable. I stayed in the 1 bedroom Mammoth Suite. I would highly recommend that on the highest floor possible--there are 7 floors. I will come back. The room pictured is room 723.”

“Our good experience started before we arrived. Marriott emailed the hotel for us and the manager TIm was quick to respond. He noted our request and said to ask for him at check in. When we arrived, Tim came and had us in a beautiful room, shared our benefits as Platinum members and offered a glass of wine - now that is hospitality!
Location is prime near town and the gondola. View is premium. Close to hiking for us in September but would be great in the winter. The pool is nice. Staff are spot on.”

“Restaurant is closed. Tub showers are slippery and unsafe. Hotel manager did not have rubber mats to make stub shower safe. Instead she falsely claimed the tub shower was treated with no slip texture. It was total BS and she refused to come up and run her finger across the tub shower. Hotel is 19!years old and tired. Much better to stay next door at new Limelight Hotel. Bigger rooms, free high quality breakfast, a nice bar & restaurant with outdoor seating, cleaner new property with pool and hot tub and gym. Same price. Run from the Westin to Limelight. You will be much happier.”

“Hospitality is alive and well! I have 2300 nights in a Marriott over 16 years (Lifetime). I've seen ALL the bad and the good. This trip was a little different, myself and friend were hiking the John Muir Trail entering from Mammoth and ending in Yosemite. Quite the logistical challenge with extra bags, transport back, etc. The crew was so kind checking us in (I often get treated very different when I am in "civilian clothes" vs my work attire but not here! Check-in was smooth and despite the construction and other inconveniences it was a great stay. The best part was check OUT. The Bell staff accommodated holding a duffel for me for a week while we were hiking to pickup on our return. AMAZING to no have to leave it in a rental car at the trailhead for a week.
When we returned, the staff not only got our bags but worked out transport to get us back to the trailhead to get the rental so we didn't have to hike. THIS is what going the extra mile looks like.
I cannot recommend the staff enough. From Tim, Arun, Gabe, Kasey, Jason and the rest of the crew, its SO NICE to see hospitality alive and kicking and the true Marriott brand at work. THANK YOU for reminding me why I stay with Marriott.
