Pluses—great location, good gym, comfortable rooms, small gift amenities were a nice touch. Cons—very costly massages and if you wanted to use the hot tub, cold plunge, steam etc and were not getting a spa treatment that day, the access fee is $175 per person per day. Seems outrageous for a hotel where rooms run $1500++ a night to have a surcharge for relatively basic spa facilities. Also inhospitable cancellation period, generally a month! Also the grand deluxe room at 400 square feet felt cramped, perhaps the furniture , but it was snug especially for two people.

  • BEWARE of this property

“I booked a 4-night stay for me and my wife to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, a few days before we were scheduled to arrive, my wife had complications from an abdominal hysterectomy that was done about 8 weeks prior. The hotel’s reservations manager, Mark Loyola, was made aware of the circumstances days ahead of our arrival and refused to refund a single penny of our 4 nights, despite efforts made both directly to him and by American Express on our behalf. We weren’t even offered a credit to use towards a future stay. BUYER BEWARE, management of this hotel cares only about their profits, not people or issues (in our case unanticipated health/post-surgery issues) that arise in life. The hotel also had many other rooms available for the nights we booked, so we hadn’t excluded other people from booking a stay. We’ve booked the highest-end hotels and resorts across the country, Europe, the Caribbean, etc. over the years and have never dealt with such cold, brutal management. Thought everyone should be aware of what they are dealing with at this property.”

“The private car picking me up at the airport (hotel shuttle available), greeted at the front desk with a glass of champagne, lucky to be able to secure early check-in (based on room availability), butler service (based on room category) irons 2 items a day, unpacks for me and brings coffee every morning, housekeeping daily (spotting them changing the sheets everyday) with turndown service in the evening freshening the room and breakfast in bed every morning with my Marriott benefit. The full service amenities with the staff smiling made me feel like a princess!”

  • Another fantastic experience in Aspen at the St. Regis

“The St. Regis checks all the boxes for a 5-star experience. My family has been coming to the hotel for years and we have made relationships with several of the staff who make it easy to want to come back annually. We used Aspen Empire Limousine for our transportation needs this year and they are top notch. Highly recommend.”

  • St. Regis Aspen — Worth Every Penny

    10/10

“We just returned from a June stay at the St. Regis and have nothing but great things to say. The trip was part business, part pleasure. My husband had meetings the first three days, and while the conference coordinators deserve credit for the planning, the hotel handled 300+ attendees seamlessly. That alone tells you a lot about the level of professionalism here. The leisure portion is where the St. Regis really shines. The location is unbeatable, walking distance to downtown Aspen, which made everything easy. They offer complimentary bikes and water bottles, so we spent a morning biking around town taking in beautiful Aspen. A small but lovely touch that made a big difference. The pool area was gorgeous. The lounge chairs were the most comfortable we've sat in, the cocktails were excellent, and the pool menu was really good. Pool service was attentive without being overbearing. The courtyard had a wonderfully serene vibe — though we were told winter Saturdays look completely different, with a big après ski party scene. Apparently, two totally different experiences depending on the season. The Mountain Lounge is sleek and cozy, exactly what you want after a day out. Rooms were spotless, beds were comfortable, and we never had a single complaint about any staff member. Everyone was warm, accommodating, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. For a June stay, we found the pricing reasonable given what you're getting. You're paying for convenience and a level of service that's hard to match. We'd come back in a heartbeat.”

  • Top-Tier Service with a Classic Aspen Feel

    10/10

“Stayed at the St. Regis Aspen and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, I felt very taken care of. The valet was welcoming and helpful, and the front desk staff was even more delightful. You can tell right away that service is a big focus here. The property itself has a really classic Aspen feel to it. It was originally built in the early ’90s as a Ritz-Carlton before becoming a St. Regis, and it still carries that timeless, high-end mountain lodge style throughout the property. My room was fantastic with a great view overlooking the courtyard, which added a really nice touch to the overall stay. The bathroom deserves its own callout. It was very spacious and opened up into the bedroom, which made everything feel more open and less confined. It’s a small detail, but it gives the room a much more elevated feel instead of that boxed-in hotel layout. Overall, the stay just felt polished across the board. The lobby bar has some great bites for breakfast and lunch. I also had dinner and brunch at Velvet Buck, which is right on property, and it was a great way to wrap up the stay. All in all, a really great experience and one of those places where the service and setting stand out just as much as the room itself.”

“Dear St. Regis Aspen Team, I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for the truly majestic experience my family and I had during our stay at The St. Regis Aspen Resort. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and genuinely cared for. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, creating an atmosphere that was not only luxurious, but also incredibly magical and intimate for our family. It is rare to find a place that combines such elegance with a sense of warmth and personal connection, and your team achieved this beautifully. Each interaction, every gesture, and all the small touches made us feel special and at home. These are the kinds of experiences that stay with you long after you leave. Without a doubt, we will be returning, and we will gladly recommend The St. Regis Aspen Resort to friends and family seeking an exceptional and memorable stay. Thank you once again for making our time in Aspen so unforgettable.”

  • Home Away from Home

“I had such a great stay at The St. Regis Aspen and honestly can’t wait to come back and stay longer... What really stood out was the service—especially Jasmine and Jose at the front desk. They went above and beyond in a way that felt genuinely personal, not forced. They were warm, welcoming, and made everything feel easy from the moment I arrived. By the end of the stay, it really did feel like a home away from home. The valet team was also fantastic—super quick and efficient every time, which makes a big difference when you're coming and going in Aspen. I also loved how convenient everything was. The airport shuttle made travel seamless, and the spa was a highlight—especially the cold plunge, which was such a fun surprise and definitely a bonus experience. The pool area was beautiful and very well kept, perfect for relaxing. One of my favorite touches was the afternoon setup with s’mores and hot chocolate. It felt cozy and thoughtful, and really captured that end-of-winter, early-spring vibe. Even with spring around the corner, the hotel knows exactly how to keep that mountain magic alive! Overall, an amazing stay. Already looking forward to being back next year.”

“We were disappointed with our stay. Upon check-in, the front desk was not truthful about an upgrade, even after we mentioned that we are Platinum American Express and Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members. The restaurant experience was equally frustrating — the food was disappointing, and the service was extremely poor. While the staff was generally kind, it was clear they were poorly trained and unprepared to provide the level of service expected from this brand. Overall, it fell well below the standards we’ve come to expect from Marriott properties.”

“An amazing stay… exactly what you expect from the St Regis Brand. The rooms are terrific - clean, spacious and and overall very comfortable. Bar and restaurant are also great. Food was consistently good and the bar service is solid. What makes it even better is the incredible team they have. Candela and Samantha in the bar are great. Friendly, great service and made us feel incredibly welcome. Charlotte at the front desk was super helpful answering questions about my bill and just overall info. If those three team members are representative of your whole staff - you’re doing it right. Great stay! See you next year.”

“If you’re dreaming of clean air and beautiful Mountain Views reconsider The St Regis . There is construction across the street making it a view of a dump. It’s loud and dusty . St Regis said they were sorry but it’s like that for 2 years. Paying St Regis prices I would expect more. There are plenty of fabulous hotels in Aspen”

“I thought I was going to be absolutely "wowed". NOT THE CASE. We came in the summer for a very elevated experiential w/e for some very special friends. I will start by saying that in order to get to our room we had to walk down a back of house service stairwell to get there because the elevator to our room was out of service. We addressed the front desk and were told we'd get a call from the Manager. Never happened. Approached the desk again the next day, same message. We also booked 3 nights, but due to family emergency we only needed 2 nights. Did not request for a refund but was going to let my 80 year old father use the third night since it was paid... I advised their management team he could not use stairs. Nothing was done about it. Such a disappointment regarding operations and management. Room service trays left (not ours) out in hallways for extended amount of times, sometimes almost 24 hours. Never got a reset of water in the room bc no one ever came to clean the room. I will say, the service team at the restaurants and bar were absolutely incredible. You should consider advancing some internal hospitality members from your team as they were the ones to recover our experience as best they could.”

“Many hits & misses... This property is at least consistent in its ability to have me questioning my sanity (every time) for paying the nightly prices they charge here for the empty experience they deliver. The St. Regis name carries a lot of weight. The type of customer it attracts is one with very high expectations, but this particular property can't seem to get their act together. Lots of junior level staff who aren't truly empowered to help guests or solve issues. This is not only a hotel management issue, but a Marriott Corporate issue. With the prices this hotel charges, they should be able to hire quality local workers and retain them. Instead they hire cheap, international labor which turns over just about every season and can't meet the expectations of clients at this level. It's a beautiful property in a great location, which is what keeps me coming back. But the rooms weren't thoughtfully laid out. At this point I've stayed on every level and in just about every corner of the property. Most of the standard rooms are small (with very little storage space) and the walls between them are thin (noise issues abound). Another disappointing aspect, unlike its sister property in Deer Valley, is they almost never offer upgraded rooms, even when they are available. On my most recent stay, the hotel was low occupancy. I booked a standard room on a low floor, and that's exactly where they put me. It's fine I guess. However knowing my loyalty to the property, and the availability of much better rooms, you'd think they'd offer a complimentary upgrade of some kind. They put me in a tiny, dark room covered in dust with no view. That is the difference between a true 5-star resort, and this property. It's the details and the thoughtfulness. The valet/bell desk is very hit or miss. It depends upon how busy they are. A lot of guests complain about the changing "scene" at this hotel. What used to be a family-oriented, luxurious mountain experience has turned into a nightclub and revolving door of obnoxious influencers from L.A. and New York. This is why I stay away during the busiest times of the year. Marriott has definitely shifted their focus towards a much younger demographic in recent years. I'm right in the middle of the two generations so I'm neutral on this I suppose. Although I'm not a fan of the bumping club music late into the night or the smell of weed infiltrating my room. Feels like I'm in college all over again. If you are someone who is used to impeccable 5-star service, the prices at this property will fool you into thinking it can be found here. Don't fall for it. I'll be back, St. Regis Aspen. I look forward to updating my review in the near future.”
