“Perfect location and bus availability”
Lovely hotel and awesome spa

“The location was a bit outside of the main area, but we kind of liked that. It was easily reached by the hotel shuttle or a walking/biking path. It sat right on the creek, which was beautiful. The room was nice - comfortable bed and really nice bathroom/shower. The pool was nice, though it was pretty full during our stay. We also received massages while we were there, and it was one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend the spa for some pampering.”
Dated and Filthy

“We chose this hotel for our anniversary getaway, expecting a luxury experience, but unfortunately it was a major disappointment.
When I made the reservation, I noted that we were celebrating our anniversary and requested a room with a balcony. None of those requests were acknowledged. There was no anniversary greeting, no recognition of our loyalty as a member, and check-in felt completely robotic and impersonal.
The property itself is simply not a luxury hotel. It feels dated and poorly maintained, but the biggest issue is the lack of housekeeping and management oversight.
The pool and spa area was consistently filthy throughout our six-day stay. Dirty dishes and leftover food were left sitting around for hours, trash cans overflowed, pillows were scattered across the ground, and the water station was empty and dirty despite an attendant being nearby. The cold plunge pool was empty and filthy. I reported these issues to management, and even two hours later nothing had been addressed.
The lobby and gathering areas were no better. Food remained on the floors, tables were dirty, and cushions were left scattered on the ground. I personally brought these conditions to the attention of the front desk, which was only about 100 feet away, and even asked them to come see for themselves. They never even got up to look and seemed completely unconcerned.
Adding to the unpleasant experience, the lobby had an overwhelming odor of feces. During our entire six-day stay, the guest corridors were never vacuumed. The same strings, straws, crumbs, and debris remained on the floors day after day, making it obvious that basic cleaning was not being performed.
I specifically discussed these concerns with a manager named Irina. She simply nodded and appeared completely unfazed by the conditions or our concerns.
A small credit was applied to our stay, but it did little to make up for what was supposed to be a romantic, luxury anniversary vacation. When you don't feel comfortable using the spa or pool because of the cleanliness, and you lose confidence in dining at the property's restaurants because of the overall condition of the hotel, a small credit is simply not an adequate resolution.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but travelers looking for a true luxury experience in Vail should know that this hotel fell far short of expectations in cleanliness, maintenance, service, and management responsiveness.”
Switcheroo from the start

“It’s a fantastic property but when we arrived we were notified they were overbooked and moved us to a far lesser location. We did get a refund, which we haven’t seen yet, and access to amenities but it put a very different spin on my birthday weekend.”
My go to in Vail

“Beautiful property along the lovely creek. Suites are spacious and clean. I like the creekside executive suite. This is our second visit. Ski season was great. The lift is at the hotel. How perfect is that?”
Disappointing Stay Made Worse by Poor Customer Service

“I was very disappointed with my most recent stay at the Grand Hyatt Vail. Late one evening, I had to switch rooms because the window shade would not lower, making it impossible to darken the room. I also discovered that I had been charged three separate times for a single purchase at the spa.
While mistakes can happen, what was most frustrating was what happened afterward. I made multiple attempts to contact the hotel to resolve these issues, but no one returned my calls. In the end, I had to work directly with my bank to dispute and reverse the duplicate charges.
The room issue and billing errors were inconvenient, but the complete lack of follow-up and customer service was the most disappointing part of my experience. I expected much better from a Grand Hyatt property.”

“Beautiful creek location. Walk or shuttle to central Vail, Cool building and attentive staff. On Monday afternoon there was a wonderful nature walk with a local guide.”
Disappointing

“we have been at this hotel many times before, but unfortunately, this time the hotel did not live up to our expectations. Our room was veryloud and lacked basic amenities such as hand soap. The shower also had a musty smell. We brought our young children, who are very excited about family activities. Unfortunately, there was no movie. There were no snacks by the pool and the soft serve ice cream machine was broken. These are not dealbreaker, but our kids were looking forward to them. We also had an unfortunate interaction with someone working at the front desk, who was quite rude. I am not sure if these things were. I want off or not and I am also not sure if we will be back to learn the answer to that .”
Mediocre at best, better to look elsewhere in Vail

“This resort is average in just about every sense of the word. Unfortunately they price themselves as a top tier hotel while barely managing a truly mediocre experience. The pool is miniscule and basically useless with its maybe 20 chairs available for hundreds of rooms. They nickel and dime you with resort fees, $65 a night parking fees and hyperinflated prices at their shops and restaurants. We love visiting Vail but will moat likely never be back at this hotel. Too many other great options in town to deal with the lackluster offerings of this Grand Hyatt.”

“Room 442 is a grand queen suite but there is no window in the bedroom. Like a coffin. Not a cheap room. Also missing basic furniture. Couldn’t figure out what was off and realized no coffee table in the main room. Doesn’t anyone check this? Pool is very small for such a big place and was mobbed with kids in hot tub. Chaos. No chairs. Not relaxing. Vail is beautiful of course but no help from front desk on getting a bedroom with windows to be able to see it. . Didn’t seem like a lot to ask when paying for a large suite. Will choose another place next time. We did Amex fine hotels offer. No upgrade. No early check in. Maybe because our room was bigger.”
Awesome valet staff

“Great hotel, nice rooms and great staff! What really set you apart is your Valet staff. My husband asked for the rental car to be brought down so that he could leave for a meeting. When Ben went to get the car he wasn’t able to get in, he called my husband to make him aware of the situation. My husband got another ride, but while he was gone Ben took the time to google the problem, this being a hybrid rental car, we had no idea what the problem was. Ben was able to get in the car and restart the battery and get the car started again. Ben also kept my husband advised of progress while he was away. Ben certainly went above and beyond to help us out! Knowing Ben would not be working the day of our departure, he passed the car off to Christian and explained the process should the hybrid not start. Both of these young men went above and beyond to insure that we were safely on the road and headed to the airport on time!”
Grand Hyatt - A Great Stay in Vail!
10/10

“One of best located luxury hotels in Vail! Right on the river with a spectacular infiniti pool! You can lie for hours and just listen to the water rushing by and enjoy the dramatic mountain side! The staff across the board is welcoming and warm! Food options are delicious and Makato is extra-ordinary Japanese cuisine. Throughout the hotel was updated and rooms/bathrooms impeccable. It features a quick 10-15min scenic walk to Lionshead alongside the river or a 15-20min walk to Vail village. A huge plus is the continuous shuttle service to both villages. A most memorable family vacation! Look forward to coming back in the winter for the attached Ski facility.”

“We loved everything about our stay and would go back in a heart beat. We thoroughly enjoyed our terrace room and spending time in the evening next to our fire table and listening to the rushing creek. The pool, hot tub, sauna and cold plunges were awesome - such a great view and a fun way to pass the time with a tiny human! There were fun touches (like the s’mores night), the theater, the arcade, the little hang area by the market so we felt like there was plenty to do! Staff was really responsive - brought us an extra patio chair, answered my questions via text super quick. Once again, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come back and stay again!”
