The facilities at all Ritz-Carlton Resorts are generally very nice. I was somewhat disappointed with the service at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island however. We stay a Ritz properties quite often with the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota being our favorite. The service in Sarasota stands head and shoulders above that of Amelia Island. We typically will book or upgrade to Club level, in the case of Amelia Island, it's simply not worth the cost. Other than Stephanie, the Club level attendant on the morning shifts (which went out of her way to attend to guests and make sure they were happy), the rests of the staff gave off the vibe that they wanted you to leave. Food selections were generally empty with staff not showing any interest in restocking. Club level at Amelia Island also includes a "Club Beach area", which I still don't understand what it provided. Getting a drink at Amelia Island while at the beach is like chasing a unicorn. I tried and tried and finally gave up and walked up the beach to the bar. I did manage to track down one attendant at one point and she made it a point repeatedly to let me know that drinks here in the "Club area" were not free. I responded that I wasn't expecting anything for free and could I please have a menu.......... crickets, she never came back. The valet was another issue. We called down ahead of time for our vehicle and yet had to wait in the valet area for nearly 45 minutes. Again, very disappointed. If you're a Ritz-Carlton fan like we are, do yourself a favor and choose another property with better management.

  • Gorgeous resort , food subpar

“Just spent about 24 hours at Ritz Amelia island. Resort is very nice and what we’ve come to expect at Ritz properties. Gorgeous setting, room and hotel and grounds were spotless and service was 5 star, no questions. However, after 3 meals we felt the food was very very subpar. And since nothing else is really walking distance we stuck with eating at the hotel. Today got just burger and a salad with chicken. Burger was seriously like a hockey puck on a stale bun. Salad with chicken ($18 extra) was gross dark meat chicken. Fries came with an awful seasoning. We sent back and asked for no seasoning but all we got was a fresher order of fries but again with seasoning. Didn’t feel like complaining again. Chips and guacamole was good. Not sure if we would come back really because the food was that bad. But the hotel and beach and service are magnificent.”

“We had an exceptional stay at the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island and throughly enjoyed the first class service offered by Celeste and Chase in the Club as well as the Club Beach and greatly appreciated Jack with all of his assistance with our check in and checkout. This is a beautiful property and an amazing place to celebrate our 39th Wedding Anniversary.”

  • Nice family holiday!

    8/10

“We had a wonderful stay overall at the Ritz Amelia Island and really enjoyed our holiday. The hotel is in a fantastic location with a beautiful, long stretch of clean beach, breathtaking sunrises, and plenty of wildlife to see including turtles and birds. Our room was comfortable and well maintained, and the restaurants were excellent with delicious food and attentive service. The spa was a highlight of our stay and is definitely worth visiting. That said, there are a few areas where the hotel could improve. Many of the concierge and front desk staff appeared to be new, so they weren't always able to answer questions or provide helpful recommendations. Check-in was also quite slow due to long lines. If the hotel knows a large number of guests are arriving, having more staff available at reception would make the process much smoother. One issue that was disappointing was room management. We were told by staff that the hotel frequently overbooks rooms, so guests who have reserved a specific room type or location may not always receive what they booked. That's something to keep in mind if having a particular room is important to you. We didn't get the room we booked which made it cramped for our family in the one we were given, however the assistant manager went out of her way to make sure we were taken care to make up for the room issue. Overall, we had a great vacation thanks to the beautiful setting, excellent dining, and outstanding spa.”

  • Great experience - yet management doesn't feel like they should acknowledge multiple emails of praise for the staff

“I had sent two emails to Greg Cook (the GM) and Nanette Rapuzzi. Sadly there was no reply from either about the praises for certain staffers who have better customer service skills than the management team. That being said, here is the message that was sent in hopes that it reaches those mentioned. I did knock off one 'bubble.' The Ritz-Carlton leadership should know better and acknowledge the time a guest spends to share praises. Hi Greg, I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to take a moment to share some praise for several team members who made our recent stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, so memorable. My wife and I have visited every year since 2021 for the XXXXXXXX (redacted). She works for XXXXXXXX (redacted), and since I work remotely, I’m fortunate to tag along on her trips. This year, we stayed from May 17 through May 21, and once again, your team made the experience special. I especially want to recognize Shannon Chamberlin, Front Office Coordinator. From check-in to check-out, Shannon was wonderful — even when I forgot what room number right after checking in and rushing back downstairs for a quick meeting. (she can tell you the story 😊 ). She also brought me a little birthday celebration and included a handwritten note, which was such a thoughtful touch. I understand she has not been with the property long, but she is already a shining star. She has a bright future in hospitality. Keep it up, Shannon! I also want to recognize Chase at the front desk for being very customer-friendly and welcoming. At the Beach Bar, Rush provided wonderful service and was super friendly and engaging throughout our visit. At the pool bar, Bradley delivered great customer service — and of course, we could never forget that mustache. Jordan, our pool server, also deserves recognition. I can’t say enough about his customer service. At Tidewater Grill, James Burgess continues to stand out as one of the most caring team members at the resort. Thank you for giving him his opportunity. It means a lot personally. I’d also like to recognize Avery Lott for being friendly and attentive and Aleigha Flores for providing spot-on service. Please pass along my appreciation to each of them. The people at your property are a big part of why we look forward to returning every year.”

  • Exceptional Experience!

“As a former Ritz-Carlton employee (2000–2013), I have a deep appreciation for the standards, values, and commitment to excellence that define The Ritz-Carlton brand. Having spent many years as part of the Ritz-Carlton family, I understand the dedication required to create experiences that feel effortless, personal, and memorable. Our recent stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island was exactly that — a beautifully orchestrated experience from beginning to end. Most importantly, it was made possible through the thoughtfulness of my former colleague from The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans, Scott Berglund, who is now the Director of Meetings and Special Events at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, a role he has proudly held since 2009. Scott and I share a history with the Ritz-Carlton family, and it was incredibly special to see his continued commitment to the brand’s legacy of excellence. His care in arranging our experience was evident in every detail and reminded us why the Ladies and Gentlemen of Ritz-Carlton are truly what make the brand exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in an experience that was beautifully maintained, thoughtfully curated, and unmistakably Ritz-Carlton. The perfectly manicured grounds, pristine facilities, exceptional food and beverage experiences, and genuine warmth of the Ladies and Gentlemen created exactly what my husband and I needed — a relaxing and restorative escape less than an hour from our home in Jacksonville. I believe Horst Schulze and Simon Cooper would be incredibly proud of the Ladies and Gentlemen at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. The culture of service excellence, attention to detail, and anticipation of guest needs that they helped establish is clearly alive and thriving at this resort. We would especially like to recognize the following Ladies and Gentlemen who made our stay so memorable: • Megan Draley — Voyager: Thank you for creating such a welcoming and memorable dining experience. • David — Coast: Your professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made a lasting impression. • Avery — Tidewater: Thank you for your warmth and for making every interaction feel personal. • Michelle and Carson — Lobby Bar: You created the perfect atmosphere and made us feel truly welcomed. • Paige — Pool: Your thoughtful service helped make our pool experience effortless and relaxing. Each of you demonstrated the pride, professionalism, and authentic care that define the Ritz-Carlton experience. Bravo to Scott, the entire leadership team, and all of the Ladies and Gentlemen at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. From the immaculate surroundings to the unforgettable culinary experiences, you have preserved and elevated the standard of excellence that makes this brand so special. As someone who had the privilege of working for Ritz-Carlton, it was incredibly rewarding to return as a guest and experience the magic from the other side. We are fortunate to have such an extraordinary resort experience right here in our own backyard. Thank you for reminding us why Ritz-Carlton remains the gold standard in hospitality. We look forward to returning again soon.”

“We absolutely love everything about The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Every time we stay here, we’re reminded why this property continues to be one of our favorite luxury hotels. The atmosphere is elegant and relaxing, the grounds are beautiful, and the overall level of service is what you would expect from a Ritz-Carlton. We want to recognize one of their newer employees, Lorena, who truly made our stay memorable. She was absolutely amazing. One of the things we appreciated most was that she spoke excellent English, which allowed us to communicate all of our needs without any difficulty. Unfortunately, we had several interactions with other housekeeping staff members who either spoke only Spanish or very little English, making it extremely difficult to explain simple requests or ask for assistance. At a luxury hotel like The Ritz-Carlton, clear communication with guests should be a priority. Lorena completely changed that experience for us. She was kind, professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure our family was comfortable. She was especially wonderful with our baby girl and went above and beyond to make our room perfect. After a previous misunderstanding caused by the language barrier with another housekeeper, Lorena personally made sure everything was taken care of. She even delivered the items we needed herself. That level of care and personal attention is exactly what defines true Ritz-Carlton hospitality. Thank you to the entire Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island team for another wonderful vacation, and a very special thank you to Lorena for turning what started as a frustrating situation into an exceptional experience. We can’t wait to return, and we hope to see her again on our next visit.”

  • Oceanfront gem on Amelia island

    10/10

    U8212DVstephend · Couples · 2026-07-07

“We stayed here at this oceanfront property on Amelia Island with nicely appointed oceanfront suites and excellent dining options over the 4th of July. Overall: 4.7/5 Room: We had an oceanfront suite in the north tower. About 1050 sq ft, with 1.5 baths, and long balcony that could be accessed from living room or bedroom. Bathroom was very large with a soaking tub. The only minor complaint is while the bathroom itself was very large, the shower itself was very small - you would not want two people in there at once. Dining We drank/ate at oceanfront Coquina restaurant several times. The tacos are excellent, and the staff at the bar are absolutely great. We had dinner at Coast and it was excellent. Filet, scallops and some cocktails were all on point. Derrick was a great server. We ordered room service for breakfast. It was fine, but nothing extraordinary and the order wasn’t entirely correct. Not a big deal but for $80 you kind of hope it’s at least accurate. Lobby bar was fun and servers were absolutely on it. Beach Beach itself is quite nice. Lot of chairs/umbrellas out there. The beach crew is efficient and helpful. The one thing we would politely note is the food and drink service at the beach was quite slow everyday to the point of being non-existent. It happened to us both days and hanging out other random guests, they noted the same thing. I know they are working hard but 30 minutes+ to get a drink isn’t quite what you normally get at other Ritz properties. Location The property itself is lovely with dunes, turtles, beach, pool and sports activities onsite. Staff/service Generally the staff was the usual excellent Ritz level standard. Front desk, lobby bar, coquina and coast all were 5/5. The main room for improvement is the beach service, but may be understaffed given the number of chairs and physical distance to beach bar and coquina to bring food and drink down to beach. We had a couple little hiccups (incorrect room service order, incredibly slow service at beach, etc) that were generally well addressed.”

“It’s a fantastic experience and definitely worth every penny it costs. Arrived in Ritz Carlton Amelia smoothly and safely. About 35-45 minutes from the airport. Greeted by welcoming reception staff like Shanika . Got a well appointed room with a balcony overlooking the pool and the ocean view. Ushered personally by Kathy , manager of the Executive Club Lounge. She brought us to our room and so gracious to welcome us to the lounge. Whom I met Stephanie , reservation specialist. Thanks to both of you and absolutely delighted our entire stay. You both lead your whole team of the Ladies and Gentleman of the Executive club lounge. Glad to meet Gwyne , Janeen, Lowell , Chase , Celeste , Lawrence, Robert and Amado every presentation were great, and the entire team was very professional and I’m grateful for all your impeccable service. The best thing that I got out of the resort and able to have fun with the free Benz suv for more than 4 hours to visit Ponte Vedra beach. Bellmen like Huy, Lawrence and Bell and more like Sofia. In addition to the most spectacular views of the resort, overlooking the ocean. The beautiful amenities at the Ritz Carlton Amelia were luxurious and comfortable. Attended the wedding of my friend in this amazing place where all guests were ecstatic. The reservation I had with the Michelin guide fine dining restaurant was exceptional. Watched sunrise and sunset. Most enjoyable time was well spent in shopping to a lot of their in house shops. I loved the entire vibes of the resort and definitely recommend this property for all occasions. Really enjoyed seeing all different walks of fashion and food and relaxed atmosphere. I’m glad to stay at this resort Highly impressed Totally recommended for all occasions. Thank you Ritz Carlton in walking the coastline then shopping til we dropped 🤩”

“We are here as a family for a few days. Great service. Better Ritz Carlton than others we have visited in Florida and worth it. I just want to show the pet policy so no one is confused or deceived. I read other dog reviews on this site. They did not specify as a service dog and that may be my mistake. If you are not certified as a service dog you are pretty much extremely limited. It was a serious point of contention when we discovered this on day three. Even signed up as club level it was “persona non grata”pretty much and it was done in an embarrassing way. I do believe this is a beautiful resort and we have been treated very well and will come back. I just want everyone to see this photo below of their pet policy. . It pretty much tells you that your dog cannot go anywhere almost on the resort unless official certified service, not even ESA is granted way.”

“We had such a wonderful stay! The hotel and property are absolutely beautiful, and everything was incredibly clean. Housekeeping did an excellent job. The food was great, and the amenities were top-notch. We especially loved the beach area. It had everything we needed, plus attentive servers to bring food and drinks, which made it even more relaxing. A special thank you to Gina, who made our anniversary truly memorable by upgrading our room and having complimentary wine waiting for us. Such a thoughtful touch! We loved everything about our stay and can’t wait to come back.”

  • Great Staff but facility needs some TLC

    6/10

    TimT578 · Family · 2026-06-20

“We spent six nights at the hotel with four grandchildren. The staff here is wonderful, many have been working there for years. From the beach to the bell staff, everyone is very friendly. Some of the people who made us feel very welcome were Morris at the front door, Chantrelle on the switchboard, Brian the server at Coast and David at the beach. Eating outside on the covered patio at Coast is great for children. There is a ping pong table/putting green/cornhole area with artificial turf where the kids can play after dinner. The food at Coast is very good. All of the shops are exceptional and many are familiar brands. Overall the condition of the entire facility is tired. The fabric sofa in our suite had multiple stains and there was frayed carpet against the wall in the bedroom. That being said, the housekeeping staff did their best and the glass in the sliding doors was always clean. The baby pool was apparently under construction but no one worked on it the entire time we were there and it looked like nothing had been done for months. The entire pool area is just tired. The pavers around the pool are stained and need power washed. Seaside environments are tough, but the structural steel supporting the canopy over the patio at Coast is extremely rusted and in dire need of paint. Not the best thing to have over your head while enjoying a meal. We were at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida in September of 2025 and that facility is in much better condition.”

“From the time we pulled in the Ritz Carlton until we pulled out, we were treated like royalty. Hannah was very kind & professional at the front desk. Anthony the Bellman was super friendly & did a great job with our luggage. Whitley our waitress at the Coast restaurant was very friendly & professional & did a nice job of helping us make choices. Tyler was super friendly helping us rent bikes and telling us a really fun bike ride. Tyler brought our car up when we had to leave and did a great job. It was hard to leave we had so much fun at this Ritz. We even road horses on the beach using Happy Trails and it was only a 10-15 minute walk from the Ritz to ride the horses.”

They sell this idealistic experience but it’s aweful. Salt and the gym are great, everything else is like being at a Disney hotel. Wow what a terrible disappointment.”

“This is our 6th year staying at this resort, most of those times over the Memorial Day holiday. It’s our getaway where we feel like Cheers because everyone knows our name - our home away from home. This year we planned on turning our normal couples only getaway to a family getaway with our mom and sis, however our sister passed away the end of January. So we were faced with a decision - we still came, and we brought our mom. That backdrop was needed because while Kathy and Robert, in the club are truly the reason we return each year - this year was even more special because I could tell Robert had trained so many others to give top knotch service. It was nice seeing Janeen and Lawrence jump right in doing an amazing job. Chase, who’s also phenomenal (but we didn’t see much cause he was at the beach - we stayed poolside) introduced us to Celeste, who was a breath of fresh air. Such a beauty inside and out, and last but not least the quiet, leader who doesn’t like fan fare Stephanie - made this trip after losing our sister super special and exactly what we needed. I’d be remiss if I didn’t shout out Isaiah who made the adult pool so accommodating to our wheelchair bound mother. He went over and above, and mom had a great suggestion - accessible entries to the adult pool and women’s locker room area would be a bonus as we made it work but the doors were heavy and maneuvering the door & her was a challenge. Finally, I must say my award of the trip goes to Jadisyn, he worked the adult pool our last day, and he was unfortunate to have to deal with the “entitled lady”. If I knew her name, I’d share, but I don’t. She comes with a group every year just like us, but she is nasty and entitled. While she tried holding 6 lounge chairs at the adult pool for over an hour, he was patient as he tried to remove towels for spa guest he had to turn away. Finally, I’d had enough and said something. I apologize for my tone, that’s not who I like to be, yet enough was enough. There are rules, we all must abide by and just because I’ve stayed here 6 times I don’t expect any more special treatment than a first time visitor. The Ritz is an experience for all - thank you for hiring beautiful humans, who take a lot when they show up to work and service others. Jadisyn, sir - your service was top notch and ALL the pool attendants outside her (and whatever group she was holding chairs for) applaud you. Until next year God bless us all, and God bless America! Happy Memorial Day❤️.”

“This review is mostly about the Coast restaurant. For about the last 10 years my wife and I stay at the Residence Inn on Sadler Rd. for four nights. I either drive or take the free shuttle to the Ritz,I save at lest a $1000 a night. WE always have lunch at the Coast restaurant 🍴and all the past experiences has been excellent. Last Monday we arrived at Coast about 12:15 and sat outside, we waited at least 15 minutes before Davion F.(242107) came over took our order. My wife ordered a salad that Davion said great choice and I ordered a burger with swiss cheese & fries. People all around us are getting their food, some who sat after us, at least 20 minutes later he comes over after I caught his eye and I asked what is taking so long? His reply was I want to make sure your burger is done just right, a few minutes later he comes back again to ask( you did order swiss instead of cheddar, right). My wife said she is starving, Davion rushes away and a minute later I get a VERY COLD dried out burger and cold stale fries, wife gets a salad that is basically just lettuce. There were no apologies, no one comes over to check on us, I received the check at 1:32 P.M. Of course we will never be back, we really missed the great food and service. The highlight was sitting outside on a beautiful day.”
