    “We have stayed at this resort three times. We had a terrible experience during our last visit, but we decided to give it one more try. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating, and the exterior of the resort is beautiful and well maintained. Unfortunately, the rooms are in serious need of updating. The furniture was old and chipped, and we had to wrestle with the drawers to open them, including the drawer containing the safe. The bathroom door squeaked loudly and was difficult to open and close. The carpet was worn, and I’m not sure when it was last cleaned. These issues may sound minor, but they are the kinds of nuisances I would not expect to encounter at a hotel of the caliber of the JW. I was made aware of the fact that the adult-only rooms were newer and nicer. I can understand that there are reasons for business decisions but I don’t agree that those decisions should negatively impact the experiences had by loyal Marriott clientele. If we return to Marco Island, we will stay at another property. Note: Management reached out to us via email early during our stay. The issues we encountered were not those that could be addressed immediately. These are long-standing issues.”
