The St. Regis, Deer Valley, Hotel is an impressive luxury hotel. The enchanting entrance has striking lights on the sides, waterfalls, and little lanterns that glow at night. The hotel has a pool, two hot tubs, and great access to the ski area. You get on your skis at the lower lobby, ski for about ten minutes, then take a gondola up the mountain.
At every good hotel you need good food. The St. Regis has three amazing restaurants, including a breakfast buffet. There is a large menu for kids at all of them.
Also at every hotel, you want to have a room to spend the night. We had four people with three beds, but I’m pretty sure you can fit more people if you order cots. There were two rooms (one had a king bed for my parents and one had two queen beds for my brother and me). There is beautiful birch furniture that’s really comfortable and has extra pillows. The two bathrooms had two tubs, two showers, and two toilets. Unfortunately, the music players were impossible to find and activate.
Finally, there are equally special events for kids and adults. I especially liked the stands for hot apple cider and amazing hot cocoa with toppings (chocolate shavings, marshmallows, and whipped cream). They were open all day long, even at midnight. The Champagne Blade is when the manager takes a bottle of champagne and strikes off the top with a sword. There is champagne for adults and fermented apple cider for kids. You can also watch the ski tournament/race every day from the hotel terrace and pool area, and also from some of the rooms that are facing the ski mountain. This makes a splendid experience.
I think the St. Regis Hotel is a great resting place for your skiing trip.

“We had a nice stay at St Regis, lovely room though a bit worn, the Rime restaurant was excellent though pricey as was the spa. Special note - We got an incredible massage by Angelica … one of the best! Thoughtful and diligent job.
The shared spaces were gorgeous and the staff are attentive and catch every ask or question. Nice work!! About the only challenge I have is when I compare to their peers they don’t have much in the way of outside activities which when you take into account the high resort and mandatory parking fees you don’t get what you would get at a similar 5 star in the area.
As to the room bed was great but the floors were pretty beaten up (check out the deep groves by the tv from years of repeated dragging the tv table !) and some of the furniture seemed to be worn out. If you’re 5 star you shouldn’t have that.”
A Great Family Ski Trip

“We just got back from this resort after spending 4 nights here for a family ski trip. We have been before over the summer as a couple but first time skiing. The service every where in the hotel is amazing and personal. They really went above and beyond for us to make sure our experience was great. Amaria at the front desk is fabulous and has a great future in hospitality.
We loved the ski concierge above any other ski resort we have been to- they are great and so helpful
One thing that was missing was an area for teens and kids.”
St. Regis Deer Valley hotel is the top service hotel we’ve ever experienced in the world!

“My wife and I have traveled the world for many years and stayed in countless luxury hotels so what I have to say is very measured by our experiences. This particular St. Regis ranks as the number one service hotel we’ve ever been to! ! From the moment we arrived earlier this week we were amazed at the servant culture that has been established here by the management. We’ve hosted Horst Schulze the founder of Ritz Carlton who has spoken many times for our organization about culture curation and let me say this hotel has it down to the tee. The manager on duty , I believe his name was Thomas , upgraded our room from a mountainside King to an executive suite when he discovered they had given us a handicap room. After buying coffee one morning we were contacted by their cafe asking if we would like the same order delivered to our room every morning at whatever time we needed. I accidentally dropped a $500 gift card one day and the bell girl knew our name and found us and returned it promptly! Every time I walked by one of their staff most of the time they called me by name and asked if they could serve us in any way. I told my wife it almost feels like they think we’re celebrities! From the restaurant wait staff to the ski valet to the shuttle service it was like that everywhere we went. This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location but the staff here takes it to another level! Well done St. Regis Deer Valley team ! You’re the best I’ve ever seen!”
Spa is awful

“Spa is not great. First off I did not stay at the hotel so this review is specifically for the spa as I stay in a neighboring condo and booked a massage. Booking is very easy online and I booked a 9am 60 minute massage. I arrived early and the spa was closed so I wandered around the shops and lobby and promptly arrived at the spa at 9am which is when they open. I stood in the spa reception area for 5-10 minutes before someone finally showed and she asked if I’d been checked in, I told her I had not. Another 5 minutes go by. Then I’m rushed to the locker area by the manager and I ask if my massage is at 9:30 thinking maybe I’m mistaken given they weren’t open and weren’t present to check me in so maybe I have plenty of time. The manager comes back and tells me it is in fact at 9am and that I should hurry. So I undress and put on my robe but there’s no one to show me to where I’m meeting my therapist so I wander more.long story short all this actually was used to cut into my massage time, which is simply absurd. How could I possibly be ready to go at exactly 9 when you’re not even open and then you don’t have anyone at reception? So my 60 minute massage was more like 40-45 minutes. The whirlpool was also not open despite the fact that I called several days ahead to ask about amenities and was not told. When I said something on my way out at checkout to the woman checking me out the manager was standing there on the phone and cut me off and even in front of whoever she was on the phone with told the woman I was speaking to not to speak to me and that she would handle it and then told me that this woman “works for her”. I then explained to her my dissatisfaction and she just acted like I was crazy. I have never in my life had such a ridiculous experience at a high end spa and am really surprised that this is the level of service the St Regis is happy delivering. I will go to another resort spa next time.”

“the food was horrible my grilled cheese was uncooked and they didn’t even give me my COOKIE. I do not recommend if ur with family or if you want a budget sustainable lunch. One thing of mac and cheese was 15 dollars for craft mac and cheese.”
Not a 5-Star Experience – Serious Service and Management Issues
4/10
davidsI2802TQ · Family · 2025-12-27
“We are frequent luxury travelers and longtime St. Regis guests (including multiple stays at St. Regis Aspen). Unfortunately, our stay at St. Regis Deer Valley fell well short of 5-star standards.
Over the course of our stay, we experienced a pattern of service failures:
• Repeatedly given incorrect information about ski rentals and never told that rentals could be handled inside the hotel at Jans, despite asking via email, concierge, and front desk
• Poor dinner experience at La Stelina
• A crib delivered with a mattress too small, filled with towels to compensate
• Returned from skiing, jacuzzi, and showers to find no bath towels in the room
• In-room dining order lost entirely and later found to have been sent to the wrong room due to staff assumptions
• Another room in our party had hot-water issues, confirmed by the building engineer
• Late-night knocking to retrieve a dining cart that had already been picked up
Individually, these are manageable. Collectively, they point to systemic issues.
What truly escalated this situation was our meeting with the Director of Rooms. Rather than acknowledging the issues, he repeatedly made excuses, cited “conflicting information,” and implied these events could not have occurred because the property is “one of the top-rated St. Regis hotels in the world.” The clear implication was that we were not being truthful.
That interaction left us frustrated and deeply disappointed. A luxury hotel should never dismiss guests or hide behind brand reputation instead of taking accountability.
This is not a Holiday Inn, and guests paying (or redeeming points equivalent to) $2,500+ per night should not be treated this way. We have never experienced this level of defensiveness or service breakdown at other St. Regis properties.
We hope management takes this feedback seriously, because the current experience does not justify the brand positioning.”

“This hotel is first class. Everything about it is perfect. The staff is amazing and truly want you to have a wonderful stay. We went last fall too and loved it so much we came back this fall. It saddens me with the negative reviews people are writing, I truly can’t understand how people complain about this property. If you are so fortunate to be able to go to the St Regis you will have an amazing stay and experience.”
OUTSTANDING.

“I stayed at The St. Regis Deer Valley in August. It was a great experience, beautul hotel setting. The staff could not have been nicer, and we even had wonderful dog amenities for our ppet that joined us.
The food and beverage was delcious and really all of the amenities like the pool,, gym and spa were top notch.
They have done a remarkable job fusing the upper level of the hotel with the motor lobby entrane and creating a motorized tram to tie toether both entrances. Really genius!”

“I am not sure there is any opportunity for improvement at this property. Everything, and I mean everything is on point.
Location is scenic and beautiful.
Rooms are big and well appointed.
Grounds are well maintained and architectures.
Work out facility - had everything including Pelotons.
Service is quiet and understated but very good.
Like I said - nothing but highest marks.”

“Stayed here a handful of times in the last several years.
It is the sister property to the St. Regis in Aspen. Neither hotel is run very well unfortunately.
The standards of customer service for the St. Regis brand have dropped drastically since Marriott acquired St. Regis back in 2016.
What Marriott seems to be very good at is marketing. "An exquisite stay awaits..." they promise you in the welcome email. But when you get there, you realize quickly you've been duped by the corporate monster. And you're really just at a glorified Marriott.
I will say, I love the property and facilities here. It was beautifully and thoughtfully built. Great location. The lobby is warm and inviting. Each guest room has an entry area for hanging jackets and storing boots and shoes. The bathrooms are well appointed and luxurious. The actual rooms themselves are average-sized, not big or small but so quiet. I can never hear my neighbors, which is gold. Great room service food...
However, the service at this property is not up to the standards for the prices they charge and the experience they promise. I've had some warm and special interactions with the people on the room service line and in the ski valet room. I've also had some cold and dismissive interactions with managers at the front desk. There is some condescension coming from some of them that should not be the standard.
I will never forget a misunderstanding I had with the front desk. They informed me upon check-in that I had a "breakfast credit" each morning in the amount of $50. I'm not much of a breakfast person but ordered something via room service anyways because I had the credit.
Upon checkout, I was charged for all of the room service breakfasts. I questioned this mistake... I was THEN informed it was not usable for room service.
I explained I had no idea this was the case, and had I known I would not have ordered breakfasts. The manager simply argued with me until I gave up.
Over at neighboring properties if even the slightest issue comes up (it's rare), they are quick to rectify it and do the right thing by their guest. They never blame the guest or argue. It was one of the most disrespectful experiences I've ever had as a guest of a 5-star resort.
Those types of things stick with you. Thanks for that memory, St. Regis. And for duping me out of $150.”

“Excellent staff top to bottom! First class treatment!
They need to solve the driving back up the mountain to property from Park City problem at gate… pretty stupid to have a guard tell guests they have to use funicular to return but we could drive our vehicle down the mountain no problem from the hotel?!? and the valet actually drove our vehicle back up as we rode the funicular?!?
Also the fine dining option Rime needs some attention to food quality. The Brasserie and poolside offerings were on the money but the ‘fancy’ restaurant was below expectations.
To their credit they did their best to rectify things and we never had any issues at all with any of the servers or staff anywhere in the property. All very nice and worked hard to make things right.
Everything else was phenomenal! Pool, champagne toasts, special animal exhibits, made for an all around high-end experience.”

“Convienent for deer valley summer concert series, confusion on how to access property”
We felt like we were staying at a night-club

“We recently stayed at the St. Regis Deer Valley for two nights. The first night was perfect. We saw Lindsey Stirling at the amphitheater, had a relaxing evening in our room, and enjoyed some quality time together as a couple.
During check-in, we were told we had been upgraded from a parking-lot view to a mountain view, which sounded great. We were also told there was a wedding scheduled on the patio, but no one disclosed how disruptive it would be. The live band was so loud that we couldn’t relax or have a conversation. Our only options were to blast the TV or wear earplugs, which should never be the case at a 5-star resort.
When we raised the issue, the front desk supervisor, Jeff, was extremely rude and dismissive, essentially telling us there would be no refund. The only compensation offered was $200 off our food bill. We were never offered an alternate room, and the deafening noise continued from 6 PM to 11 PM.
Ironically, if we had been given the original room we booked, we would have been far from the noise. At over $1,000 a night, we expected better service and proactive communication. If a wedding is going to bring club-level noise, guests should be informed during booking so they can make an informed decision.
There are many excellent 5-star choices in Park City, and unfortunately, the St. Regis really let us down. On this trip, even a Fairfield Inn would have been more relaxing.”
