Room was comfortable and the staff was in general friendly and professional.
You could feel the shades on past of glory, but the hotel was understaffed and maintenance was being deferred with paint clearly peeling on the exterior.
The outdoor areas had had all the cushions removed outside of the "cabanas" which seemed like an afterthought to raise extra revenue.
We were going to eat by the pool on Saturday, but an order of steak tacos was $61 dollars after mandatory 20% service charge, 20% gratuity and tax.
The comfy lounge chairs in the old pictures had been replaced by standard 3-star loungers with towels placed on over them. It gave the vibe of Holiday Inn pool with $40 dollars drinks and $60 dollar tacos. I personally find this unappealing.
We ordered room service on Saturday and it took a little over an 1 hour and 1/2 to arrive brought by a woman who was clearly not trained do the job. Our very pleasant front-desk employee who checked us in on Friday night was moonlighting as the bell captain on Sunday, which seemed to illustrate how understaffed the hotel was.

“Really hit or miss here, and I think that’s more of an extension of needing to use visa employees that obviously were not fully trained: check in was a bit messy and every pool experience was too. They constantly debated over available chairs when all we wanted was to sit down anywhere and get into the pool. The pool itself was the biggest issue - two days it was like a hot tub when it was plus 90 degrees outside. The next day it was magically refreshing like the engineer who cared came back from their two days off. One night at powder we had the best service ever from the blond lady (forget her name) but she is an absolute star. Otherwise the room was comfortable and spacious though had an odd mothball smell. We did forget a lot of clothes and they had them all bagged and ready for pickup - appreciate the lost and found honesty. All in all I expect more form a Waldorf, staying at the one in nyc and Orlando it was relatively the same hit or miss experience and I think speaks more to Hilton just being lower in quality in general to Marriott with there premium brands.”

“One of the best stays we've had anywhere. Management clearly directs staff to take great due care of customer desires.
Pool kept warm for evening swims.
Throughout our stay staff would ask us if we desired this or that-all without our request.
Many highlight given how great the entire staff is, Oscar, Stacie, Bryan, Nathalie, Anna all went above and beyond for us.
Great pool and hot tubs w a sauna. Worldclass rooms with Mahogney accents and Viking appliances.
We'll certainly be back.”
An Unforgettable Fourth of July at Waldorf Astoria Park City ⭐

“My family and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Waldorf Astoria Park City over the Fourth of July weekend. From the moment we began planning our trip, we experienced the exceptional hospitality that defines this property. This was our first time driving from California to Park City, and Concierge Dallin Calvert was incredibly helpful over the phone before our visit. He took the time to help us coordinate our drive, answer our questions, and make sure we felt prepared for our arrival, which made the journey feel much easier and more enjoyable.
Dallin was truly outstanding. He genuinely cares about guests and their families, and it was clear from every interaction that he wanted to make our experience special. He went above and beyond to make sure our son was happy, excited, and looking forward to the trip. His kindness, thoughtfulness, and personal attention made a lasting impression on our family and set the tone for the incredible hospitality we experienced throughout our stay.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and their attention to detail made our stay truly exceptional.
The property is absolutely stunning, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. Our accommodations were spacious, elegant, and incredibly comfortable, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy quality time as a family.
This was our very first visit to Park City, and the Waldorf Astoria made it an unforgettable experience. The hotel planned an entire weekend of activities for families and guests of all ages, creating a festive atmosphere that perfectly celebrated the Fourth of July. Everything was exceptionally well organized and thoughtfully executed. We especially enjoyed the patriotic face painting, the unforgettable visit from a majestic bald eagle, and the many family-friendly activities that made the holiday weekend feel truly special.
We loved the Fourth of July Ice Cream Social, where guests were treated to complimentary ice cream in a festive setting that brought everyone together. My son also loves Bomb Pops, and to our surprise, the hotel offered them poolside as a complimentary treat. It was such a nostalgic and thoughtful surprise on a warm Fourth of July summer day.
Each evening, we looked forward to making s’mores by the fire pits. The hotel provided beautifully packaged complimentary gourmet s’mores kits with everything we needed, featuring delicious house-made marshmallows in three different flavors. It was such a thoughtful and elevated take on a classic family tradition.
What truly made our stay special were the personal touches. The team surprised my young son with an adorable moose teddy bear, a gesture that absolutely made his day and is something he’ll cherish for years to come. It’s these thoughtful moments, along with the genuine care shown by every team member, that set this hotel apart and make guests feel truly valued.
Every aspect of our stay reflected the exceptional service, luxury, and hospitality that the Waldorf Astoria is known for. Thank you to Dallin and the entire team for making our first visit to Park City so memorable. We left with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to returning. I would highly recommend the Waldorf Astoria Park City to anyone looking for a truly first-class mountain getaway.”
Excellent Customer Service

“The customer service is what made this a 5-star stay.
A huge thank you to Ryan at the front desk, who went above and beyond to accommodate us throughout our stay. He was genuinely kind, proactive, and made us feel incredibly welcome. He's truly a special guy and the kind of employee every hotel hopes to have.
Bruna at the pool was equally fantastic. She was warm, friendly, and always happy to help with guest requests. Her positive attitude and willingness to accommodate everyone did not go unnoticed.
Without those two, my overall impression of the property would have been different. The hotel itself feels a bit older and more dated than what I'd expect from a Waldorf. If you're expecting the classic luxury Waldorf experience, it's worth setting your expectations accordingly.
There's also not a ton to do on the property, only one restaurant, and the surrounding area is fairly quiet. None of these were deal breakers, but they're good things to know before booking.
That said, the outstanding service from Ryan and Bruna completely elevated our experience and is the reason I'm giving this stay 5 stars. Beautiful scenery overall in Park City and the surrounding areas!”

“Absolutely wonderful experience at this property. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by an attentive staff. Dallin and the entire team at the front went above and beyond for us. We received a diamond upgrade to a gorgeous spacious suite. We were there celebrating my birthday and when we returned to room after a long day of hiking there was a special birthday dessert left waiting for us! Honestly can’t say enough! The valet staff was excellent. Plenty of dining options within walking distance in Canyons Village or a quick shuttle ride away downtown Park City. Stunning location with many trailheads close by. We had breakfast at Powder both mornings and it was delicious. . Spent a couple of hours relaxing by the pool and the staff is very attentive! I highly recommend this property!”

“This is our third time back to the Waldorf Astoria Park City. We all feel that we are part of their Family. Charlie the General Manager makes sure that no details missed during the stay. The restaurant Powder has great bartenders; Travis, Aaron and Kate handcraft your cocktails. Breakfast is a must; Mauricio and Ulises take amazing care of you.
During dinner Dulia will pamper you and your family.
The food is one of the best, if not the best in Park City. Chef Stuart and his Team serves you very creative dishes with amazing flavors.
Jeff and his Team at the door provides you always a warm welcome and assist you with the house car.
Lastly if you need anything, the concierge Team is always there for you; Dallin and Itzel was in constant communication with us and made sure that we are well taking care of even outside of the hotel.
Thank you Charlie and Team for another unforgettable memory!”

“I would give the resort 6 stars if we could. The main reason for our review is the staff. Everyone we interacted with was very warm, friendly, professional, and hospitable. My wife got sick during our stay and the staff went our of its way to make us comfortable. I don't know everyone's name, but special thank you's go to Mitchell (Manager), Layla, and Itzyl (concierge). Aside from the service, our room was great and the food was really good. Just a first class experience.”

“Our recent stay at the Waldorf Astoria was extremely disappointing and far below what we expect from a property carrying this brand name. What is marketed as an ultimate five-star resort felt closer to a one-star experience where basic standards and guest care were consistently lacking.
From the moment we entered the room, issues were apparent. We found hair in the shower upon arrival, and throughout our stay there was no hot water in the sinks. At a property of this caliber and price point, cleanliness and fully functioning plumbing should be absolute baseline expectations — not problems guests have to deal with.
We arrived close to midnight after a six-hour flight, exhausted and planning to order room service. The room service line went straight to voicemail. After calling the front desk, we were informed that the restaurant was completely closed — not just for room service, but entirely — and therefore no room service was available at all. Instead, we were told we could order McDonald’s delivery. Being directed to fast food upon arrival at what is supposed to be a premier luxury resort was unacceptable.
The lack of proper food and beverage standards continued throughout the stay. Basic five-star offerings were missing — for example, there were no non-dairy milk options for coffee to go, only regular milk. We heard multiple guests complaining about the same issue. At this level, having options like oat milk should be a given, not something unavailable.
Amenities were also poorly managed. One of the two hot tubs was closed, leaving the other overcrowded and unusable. The pool was so cold that no one used it. These are core resort features, yet they felt neglected.
Despite being marketed as ski-in/ski-out, the property does not truly offer that convenience. The “trail” back to the hotel is actually a golf course, which in February had no snow on it. Guests must walk to the gondola and ride it down just to return to the property — very misleading for a ski destination hotel.
As we were departing on our final day, we noticed that the entire third floor — including our room — had developed a disgusting odor. We were grateful we were leaving as it became noticeable, but it was yet another example of how this property seemed to drop the ball at every turn.
To make matters worse, much of the staff felt indifferent and disengaged. There was a noticeable lack of urgency, warmth, and accountability throughout our stay. This experience did not reflect five-star standards in service, amenities, or overall execution.
Unfortunately, this stay was far below the level expected from the Waldorf Astoria name.”

“We spent four wonderful nights here. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to our rooms that really created a WOW factor beyond our expectations. We dined at Powder throughout our stay and each meal was fantastic as was the wait staff. The staff overall is incredibly welcoming and warm. Shout outs to Jennifer who learned my mom loved marshmallows and sent extra s'mores to her room. Mitch, who always had a smile that could light up a room, combined with a fun sense of humor and the entire front desk team, plus Aimee and Kristin who were able to address any concerns or bumps along the way for our trip with guest satisfaction forward solutions. That was an absolute breath of fresh air. We absolutely are looking forward to returning.”
High expectations

chrisfesl · Family · 2026-01-09
“I had high expectations for such a well-known Waldorf Astoria property and brand. While the service overall was exceptional, there were several inconsistencies that fell short of what I expected at this level. When we checked in, the valet staff were openly arguing in front of guests about shuttle duties, parking, and luggage handling, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Room service was out of cookies by 6:40 p.m. due to being very busy, which was surprising.
The room itself lacked basic amenities—there wasn’t even a full bucket of ice—which was disappointing, especially as an American Express Platinum member booking through the Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts program, where a bit more attention to detail is typically expected.
The property is dog-friendly, which we appreciated, but there were no dog waste bags available in the 4th-floor pet area, so we ended up using the 3rd-floor area instead.
That said, we weren’t completely disappointed. Breakfast was excellent, and we loved the hot chocolate offering (though extending it past 5 p.m. would be a nice touch). Overall, a good stay—but we expected more consistency and refinement from a brand of this caliber.”

“Visited this hotel between Christmas and New Year’s. It was quite busy. Had a junior suite reserved for three nights at a cost of over 2000 per night. Upon check-in on Saturday evening, the only room they had available was a larger suite with a full kitchen. This accommodation was about as far from the lobby as you can get and faced directly into a retaining wall. The hotel is designed in the shape of a backwards C. For some strange reason, the lobby is not located in the center of the C, but at the bottom of the C. The room they gave us was located past the very top of the C, almost to the very end of it. When I got closer to the room, I just assumed that the hotel was one big circle, but it came to a halt. I did not time the walk, but it felt like several minutes. I have never seen a hotel designed like this. No one is going to be happy at the top end of the C. So I rejected the room, and waited several hours past check-in time for a closer room to become available. It took a manager to intervene to find a new room. Still a schlep, but it was closer. We had dinner in the hotel since there isn’t really any thing else within walking distance. The restaurant is rather small, and the service is sort of bush league. Our server was very rushed and stressed. We asked for bread and never got it. They ended up comping our dinner that night, which with a very expensive bottle of wine and tip came to over $700. Not because of the restaurant experience, but because of the room debacle. That helped.
Pro tip: I have gold status with Hilton Honors, because I linked it to my American Express platinum card.
However, I think of the Waldorf Astoria as a premium brand. This hotel was built way before the WA brand was established. They obviously acquired it from another owner and did nothing to upgrade it. Much about the facility is old and dog eared. Especially the rooms. Decor is dated. I found the bed to be too hard, and the pillows too soft. Also, the hot water in the shower was nearly impossible to regulate, resulting in either in an ice cold or scolding hot experience. We didn’t use the outdoor heated pool, but there were plenty of screaming children who did. Seemingly, from the wee hours of the morning until well past bedtime.
Other shortcomings include poorly trained staff, valet parking that is supposed to take 10 minutes took 20, etc.
I will give the hotel high marks, for the ski valet service. The Ski Butler’s outfitters did a great job fitting us with rental equipment, and the hotel is directly across the street from a lift that takes you to the main Canyons plaza. There are another couple of hotels there, which would have been more convenient to the slopes. From there, you have to take another lift to the base. if I were to go back to the canyons ski area, I would definitely stay at the Pendry, which is located at the plaza level one lift up. I actually tried to reserve this hotel, but it was sold out. I would not do the Waldorf Astoria again, and frankly, it has jaded my opinion of the brand.”

“Our second visit this year and we took Dallin up on his offer to come back, and we are glad we did. The staff recognized my wife and I and that felt amazing and made us feel right at home. This time around Dallin arranged the house car for us for our anniversary dinner and to our surprise was the one who drove us! He shared unique facts about Park City and gave us the best recommendations for what to order! My wife and I travel a lot and never met an individual who was so passionate and energetic and personable. We also want to give thanks to the Powder staff and Jeff/valet staff and the amazing housekeeping staff. We can't wait to come back again!”

“We had such a wonderful experience at the Waldorf Astoria Park City. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out—every staff member we encountered was warm, professional, and incredibly helpful. Our room was stunning: beautifully designed, immaculate, and extremely comfortable. We had an upgraded suite that included washer and dryer.
The property has great touches that make the stay feel special, like the nightly s’mores (a big hit!) and the complimentary shuttle to the town center, which made getting around super easy. Breakfast was excellent, and the bar became one of our favorite parts of the trip—the drinks, the vibe, everything was spot on.
Overall, this was truly one of the best hotel stays we’ve had. The only thing to be aware of is that the “free” breakfast benefit through Amex Platinum doesn’t cover the entire breakfast cost, so there’s a small upcharge. Otherwise, everything exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!”

“Having just stayed in 12 luxury hotels (Bel Air, Peninsula Beverly Hills, Four Seasons Palm beach, Faena Miami beach, Waldorf Astoria Park city, W Aspen, St. Regis San Francisco, Waldorf Astoria Vegas, etc) around the USA, I have a fresh feel to review these hotels with great comparisons.
This hotel was stunning in terms of the rooms, service and hotel itself.
From the minute we arrived, we were treated like royalty. They knew our names before we gave our IDs and upgraded us to a suite. The staff at check in was so sweet, and tried everything to make our stay better, from restaurant suggestions to extending the opening hours of the pool for us.
The room was super large and even had a dryer and a washer. The 2 real fireplaces were awesome touches.
The bed was great. The only downside was the freezing cold water from all the taps and showers. It really took 5 minutes atleast to get some warm water.
The burgers and ice cream we ordered from roomservice were 7/10. Quite average.
Unfortunately we did not have time for the pool, whixh looked really nice. There was also a sauna available.
The breakfast was great, even better than at Peninsula Beverly hills or Waldorf Vegas.
We then continued to W Aspen, and this Waldorf was 2x better in every aspect.
All in all, I would definitely visit againn!”
