“The facilities were very nice including use of the spa. The grounds were beautiful. Coffee was available in the lobby as well as afternoon snacks. The tavern and bar were very welcoming. Best of all was the staff: Gigi at the front desk was very helpful and Yuta, the bellhop, was helpful and charming.”

“The staff, facilities and accommodations at the Equinox are all first class. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The golf course is challenging but playable for all levels of golfer and the setting is spectacular. I highly recommend the Equinox for your next golf get away.”
Not worth the money.... and what is the resort fee for?
6/10
Bhalpern1 · Family · 2026-08-24
“The Equinox is a historic hotel in a wonderful location. I booked directly for almost $500 a night plus $50 night resort fees and taxes. I am clueless as to what the resort fees were for. Three days prior to our stay, I was looking for at travel sights and saw the same room that I had booked on discount for $296 a night plus the $50 night resort fees and taxes, so I cancelled my original room and rebooked through a 3rd party web site. I had no issues cancelling my original reservation. Even At $296 a night, plus resort fees, it was not worth the money. We had trouble with the HVAC in the room. When we arrived and entered our room it was 64 degrees at night. I turned on the heat and set it for 75 degrees. I woke up in the middle of the night to find it unbelievably hot in the room and the thermostat said it was 88 degrees. I tried to turn the system off and next I know it was 91 degrees in the room. I finally got the system to shut off and opened up all the windows to cool us off. I saw lots of people in robes downstairs in the resort, I have no clue how they got them. There were non in our room. Our bed had wooden shims under it to level it out.
Having stated the negatives, the Pros were: The staff was very friendly, I played golf one day and the course is magnificent, we didn't eat at the hotel, but did have their apple cider donuts (a must have treat). We had some drinks at the bar and that was nice. The hotel has a wonderful location and property grounds. A positive is we didn't pay full rate per night.”
Great course, great people!

“Just spent a couple days this past week playing Equinox. The staff was fantastic, from the pro, Joanie to the pro shop, starter, cart girl, and others! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The course was in great shape, and you cannot beat that mountainous VT scenery. We ate a couple times on the porch at their restaurant, Dormy. The food and service were great. If you have the opportunity to play and/or stay at Equoinox, you will not be disappointed!”

A Vintage Venue With Class & Comfort
8/10
Durge · NONE · 2026-08-21
“This is a vintage establishment that exudes New England country elegance and offers solid quality in service and accommodations. With age there certainly are various signs of wear and tear but for the most part everything you need is well taken care of. Parking is plentiful, there are numerous venues within the great expanse of the hotel. The main hotel has a variety of room types to choose from and should be explored before you choose your accommodations. There are also a few different area such as a lodge with balcony, the main hotel that is more the vintage decor, and other detached buildings of various character and appeal. The spa along with a large pool and exercise room is a fine addition for guests but the spa may be a bit pricey to some. The staff was generally very friendly and helpful. Life in Manchester is early to bed so be warned that bar service at the hotel ends between 9 and 10 and its lights out. But there is a very nice deck area behind the main building that’s a very comfortable hang out for the warmer weather months. There’s a nice library there as well for quiet study or reading. The courtyard behind the main building is also a pleasant setting for enjoying the Vermont weather where appropriate. Look for special deals as packages seem to vary wildly on price. Groups should enjoy some discounts. If you look for imperfections, you’ll probably find a few with a vintage establishment like this, but we experienced no issues and truly enjoyed our stay. Numerous staff there stood out during our five days and out of 18 people in our group the only complaint I heard of was the price of the cocktails and the closing time for the bar service. Also, their exclusive golf course is literally across the street, well maintained, quite playable for all skill levels and quite beautiful.”
Amazing.

“Spent two wonderful days at The Equinox and loved every minute. From the warm welcome at check-in to the amazing staff at the golf course to the restaurant staff everyone was amazing. The room was beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking”
It’s an historic property that needs a lot of TLC and a lot more give-a-damn.

“The staff was friendly and did their best to be helpful despite a lack of thorough training. The bartender and Emma, a waitress, were skillful and very helpful even though the dining room staff lacked proper updates (Emma was not told the menu was new which meant that the staff was not introduced or had a tasting of the new menu).
The public spaces have been nicely updated and renovated, but that's where it stops. Although our room (229) was clean and the beds very comfortable, that's where it ended. The room was void of a refrigerator or safe and was very tired (broken window pane was taped together, rods were missing sheer drapery and the furniture was broken). The single public elevator doubled as the freight elevator so was beat up, dirty and the carpet was very worn. In lieu of using it, we tried the stairwell which was equally beat up and looked as though it hadn't been cleaned it years (filthy handrails and years of dirty finger prints on the door).
After checking out at 8:30am, the desk clerk told me he couldn't make change (for tips) since he doesn't have access to cash and there wasn't a bellman to help us with our luggage.”

“Having always wanted to stay at this iconic hotel I was pleased that it holds up fairly well to my expectations. The facility is getting a bit worn in places but considering the winter ski season and family orientation I can understand. It would be nice to go back and judge for myself again. Overall good expierience.”
Terrible Stay
2/10
KristinaFitz1 · NONE · 2026-08-10
“We had a terrible stay here. We had to move rooms twice. The first room we had didn't have AC. We moved to another room that had a leak in the ceiling in the bathroom that caused water to pool on the floor and if you sat on the toilet, you would get dripped on and the toilet paper roll was soaking wet. The front desk was not helpful unless you pushed for resolution and they acted like you were being difficult or unreasonable. I asked to speak to the manager and she would not speak with me directly. She answered my questions thorugh the front desk person, who was somewhat clueless on protocol on how to handle the kinds of issues we experienced. I understand this is an old and historic hotel, so some quirkes are expected, but this was significant maintenance issues. On top of that, the waitstaff did not seem to take my son's nut allergy seriously, and it made what was supposed to be birthday celebration event and dinner very stressful. The entire weekened was overshadowed by stress and constantly moving rooms. The Hotel was not luxury and outdated, old and smelled like mold.”
