“Food was excellent. Staff was great about telling me about the local area and helping me get around town. The location was great too”

“Location near gondola and somewhat elevated with easy 1 mile walk to town. Some rooms (not ours on the ground floor though) appear to have nice views.”
Poor experience for the price

“The overall experience was disappointing and well below what we expected for the price we paid. The bathroom did not provide basic amenities such as a razor, comb, or any creams or lotions.
For making tea, there were only four paper cups available. We used them during our stay, but they were never replaced.
Wheelchair access to the breakfast area was extremely difficult. We had to use a service freight elevator, which felt very makeshift and unsuitable for guests with limited mobility.
The breakfast selection was extremely poor, especially considering that breakfast was not included and had to be paid for separately. When we asked for two yogurts, they only had one available. The same happened with bananas—there was only one.
Overall, the quality of the services, amenities, accessibility, and comfort was far below what should be expected for the price we paid.”
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay

“The View/Location is great, room cleaners were great, customer service not so much. Front desk did not communicate well with customers or each other. Just requesting the shuttle to leave the hotel was a hassle. Getting picked up from downtown was easy due to just contacting the driver. The rooms are little small. The refrigerator can barely be used since the hotel has it almost filled with items for sale. They advertise a shuttle to the airport, but when requesting it is not available until 3:00pm. This does not work so well when you your checkout is at 11:00. Not quite sure what the resort fee covered since the hot tub did not work, airport shuttle not available, we did not need to use the wifi. The pool could used more frequent cleaning.”
Great hotel, but lacked in customer service, which really compromised our experience...

Good for families, not good for business

“Beautiful settings and convenient location for families traveling together and wanting outside activities.
The room was long narrow and very dark with no ceiling lights only a dimmed table lamp. The design was definitely made to make ppl NOT want to stay in the room bc its not good to read or work and i am assuming great to encouragevfamilies to get OUT in the pool, activities room and spend on outdoors paying activities they provide
Its more of a resort so lots of fun things for kids but def not a business traveling hotel
No real big karts for luggages, no bellmen to help load and bring up stuff, no clear directives to find other wings of the hotels in the dark, and there are no karts at all in the other wings. Very frustrating”
Mountain Escape and tons os shopping in Town Square!

“Beautiful property, totally renovated and excellent location, not far from Town Square and adjacent to the Snow King Resort, it totally expressed the mountain experience, the only complaint would be that the bar shut down @ 10pm so i had to raid the mini bar , not same experience as a late night cocktail at the bar before bed.
Would definitely stay here again.”

“Great location - we walked to the downtown shopping and restaurants. Right next to the mountain activities and a great park.
We had a standard queen room and it was plenty of space. Everything felt clean.
It was our favorite stop on our Grand Teton -> glacier road trip.”

Trailborn wedding stay

“We had a wedding and we chose this hotel due to location but it is a 16min walk to town. They need improvement with check in process. Even though I filled all the information and uploaded my credit card AND ID, they still asked for it at the hotel and we waited a long time with just 2 people at check in. The pool was cloudy and the hot tub floor looked rusty. We had a King Room with balcony that had horrible lighting for getting ready and the shower pressure was awful. The only saving grace was the Old timer bar which we enjoyed the atmosphere and service. Otherwise this place need a lot of improvement for what they charge.”

“Cleanliness and location”
Nice property, but the service and communication fell far short
4/10
jessieg287 · NONE · 2026-08-09
“We had high hopes for this stay, but unfortunately the experience was frustrating from check-in through checkout. The property itself has some nice features, and we encountered a few wonderful employees, but for the price we paid, the service and communication were far below expectations.
We originally booked and prepaid for our stay earlier this year when the property was operating under the Snow King name. Our travel agent had documentation showing the room was prepaid. At check-in, however, we were presented with a charge that differed slightly from what we had originally been quoted. When we asked for clarification, the front desk employee could not explain the discrepancy. Even after checkout, I am still not entirely certain whether everything was charged correctly or whether we may have been charged twice, which I now have to investigate.
Unfortunately, this became a pattern. The same front desk employee was there multiple times during our stay, and we struggled to get answers to even basic questions about the property.
We were traveling with children and assigned a room on the fourth floor of the South Tower. Knowing we had luggage and kids, we specifically asked whether there was an entrance or parking area closer to our room so we could avoid hauling everything through the main building. We received essentially no useful explanation of the property layout.
We ended up taking our luggage cart down a hill, hauling everything back uphill, navigating around stairs using an ADA ramp, crossing the building and waiting for an elevator. When we finally reached our room, we discovered there was an exterior entrance and parking area conveniently located almost directly beside us. A 30-second explanation at check-in could have saved our family a significant amount of unnecessary work.
Our room also had a minibar basket but no pricing information. We tried calling the front desk and discovered that the phones in our room did not work. We physically returned to the desk to ask for a price list and were told that the prices should be in our room. We explained that they were not, but no one could provide the prices.
Later, while at the pool, we asked staff about the best way to get into town and whether the hotel offered a shuttle. Again, no one seemed to know. Fortunately, the hotel’s general manager happened to be nearby, overheard our conversation and told us that there was, in fact, a shuttle.
The shuttle ended up being one of the highlights of our stay. Steven, our driver, was absolutely outstanding. He was friendly, helpful and provided exactly the kind of hospitality we had hoped to receive throughout the hotel. He deserves special recognition.
Another surprising issue was that we did not realize this property was now affiliated with Marriott. We noticed no obvious Marriott signage and no one mentioned the Marriott affiliation when we checked in. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member with status and stay with Marriott frequently for work, so I absolutely would have provided my Bonvoy information had I known.
When I later asked the front desk about adding my Bonvoy number and the possibility of a late checkout because of our flight schedule, I again received very little assistance. I was told late checkout depended on availability and that I would need to call the front desk in the morning, which was particularly frustrating considering the phones in our room did not work.
We did have dinner at the onsite restaurant, and both the meal and our server were fantastic. Unfortunately, an unrelated incident with another hotel guest put a damper on the evening. A family was taking photos directly in front of our table, and afterward one of the adults returned and confronted us about why we had been looking toward them while they were taking pictures. We were simply sitting at our table with our children. The encounter was bizarre and upsetting enough that our children no longer wanted to finish dinner. We considered reporting it, but by that point we had so little confidence that approaching the front desk would result in meaningful assistance that we decided not to.
Finally, at checkout I requested that my folio be emailed to me so I could reconcile the charges from our prepaid reservation. I still have not received it.
There are certainly positives here. The property itself is nice, our dinner was excellent, the restaurant service was great, and Steven was exceptional. Unfortunately, those positives were overshadowed by repeated service and communication failures at the front desk.
For a property at this price point, guests should be able to get straightforward answers about their reservation, charges, hotel layout, transportation, amenities and loyalty program. As a frequent Marriott traveler, this experience fell significantly below what I expect from the brand. Given the choice, I would stay elsewhere on a future visit to the area.”
Spa overpriced and fails to deliver
4/10
Michelle0913 · Couples · 2026-08-08
“Review is only on their Ember Lilly spa. Overpriced and underwhelming at best. If you’re going for a specific service only, this may be fine but if you’re going for a spa experience, I do not recommend. Manage your expectations accordingly.
We had a party of 2 people. Both of us had booking issues before we even got there. Several calls by each of us to correct and confirm things. I hoped that would be the end of it. ‘Twas not.
Certain employees and the specific service they each provided were the only thing that delivered. Big kudos to Olivia and Ainsley for outstanding service.
“One size fits all” robes only that objectively and do not fit all; be warned, if you are 2XL+ you won’t get a robe.
My friend requested a female masseuse and got a male masseuse upon arrival. No warning or asking if she was okay with the change. He was lovely, but again not meaning expectations at the last minute which throws you for a loop when you’re trying to let go and relax.
Massage therapy room not soundproof at all; I could hear noises the whole time that sounded like construction and furniture moving on another floor, heard people walking by in the hallway even talking in low voices, all of which was very distracting.
The hot tub does not have views though mountainside and outdoors. Plus the hot tub area is right next-door to the Snow King Mountain roller coaster ride, which sounds fun based on the shouts of people coming down the ride every 2 minutes, but if you’re looking for a relaxing outdoor lounger with quiet mountain side breezes, you will not get that here. There’s no pool except at the main hotel in another building a little ways away which all guests can go, so very busy.
The entire “spa” facility felt more like a dentist’s office than a high class expensive spa as they market it and price it.
More work than it’s worth and did not leave more relaxed than I came. I couldn’t wait to get out of there and left with a headache if that tells you anything.”
