Overall this as a very pleasant stay. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The property was clean and well maintained. And there was never any shortage of activities...from scuba diving to just laying around on the beach.

“This is our fourth visit to couples Negril and we are celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary this time! This Resort is unlike others that you will go to because of the people.. the staff is amazing and they remember you from year to year.. the administration / management team will go out of their way to accommodate your wants needs and desires the restaurants do their very best to create a dining experience that makes you feel like you're in a five-star restaurant or that you're just in a great Beach Diner.. everybody from the pool maintenance people to the entertainment team shout out Tiana and Rasheeda to the bartenders and staff waiting the tables and the groundskeepers and security.. every time they pass by our room they stop ask how we're doing and greet us and chat for a moment. Also a shout out to the guests that this Resort.. we have chatted with some wonderful people from all parts of the world and it's part of what makes these trips memorable. So far this week we have participated in trivia games music trivia cooking demonstrations Martini making classes Margaritaville demonstrations know your spouse games Minute to Win It and that's just a sampling of the activities we have participated in. The pool temperature at this Resort is amazing the water is a perfect temperature you're never getting into a cold water situation. I honestly can't say enough nice things about this Resort and I can happily say I have no negative comments. We create beautiful new memories every time we come and at the end of the day that's what we're all left with.. so come stay relax enjoy and create memories to last a lifetime”

“Had an amazing vacation with Couples Negril and look forward to returning again. Food was good and most employes were very helpful. The coffee shop is really nice and only improvement would be if they were able to keep the vanilla flavoring every day. It was our favorate and we were only able to enjoy it two days out of the seven day visit.”
30th Wedding Anniversary Vacation

“This was our fifth trip to Couples Negril, this time celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, and once again it reminded us why we keep coming back home.
The service was great, the food was very good, and the staff was absolutely amazing. There is just something special about Couples Negril and the people who work there that makes every visit memorable.
One of the biggest highlights of this trip was something I never expected. I had always thought about getting certified for scuba diving, but I had never actually followed through with it. We traveled with another couple who convinced me to finally give it a try, and I am so glad they did!
With the help and encouragement of Ricardo and, I believe, Sugar, I gave scuba diving a shot — and I had an absolute blast! They made me feel comfortable, took their time teaching me, and turned something I had only thought about doing for years into one of the best experiences of our trip. I enjoyed it so much that I actually went diving twice, and now I’m already trying to figure out when I can get back and do it again!
After five visits, Couples Negril continues to give us new memories and new reasons to return. Celebrating 30 years of marriage there made this trip especially meaningful, and discovering a new love for scuba diving made it one we definitely won’t forget.
Thank you to the entire Couples Negril staff, and a special thank you to Ricardo and Sugar for giving me an experience I’ll always remember.
We’re already looking forward to finding our way back home again soon!”
Second visit as good as the first!

“We broke our rule about never travelling to the same foreign destination twice, and went back to Couples Negril this year because we love it there so much and splurged for our 40th anniversary! 23travel glitches that were to do with the airline and not the resort - we were held up standing outside the entrance to the p lane for half hour while they tried to unfreeze pipes in the washroom! And upon arrival at Montego Bay airport, we were not greeted by a Club Mobay rep (a service we had paid for both ways) and my luggage was temporarily lost...we eventually found it at a different belt off a different flight! Once all that was straightened out, we enjoyed Club Mobay there for a drink and lunch before the bus took us to our resort. We did get the top of the line ground floor Beachfront suite we requested, but the only location we didn't want -directly beside the nude beach. We were moved 2 days later to the 5 block, closest to the water sports and diving pool. We loved this room! It was reverse plan from the 1 block we had last year, but so spacious and clean and very private. We only lounged at the beach and did not use the pool.
There was no need for excursions as we'd been there before, but took in the glass bottom boat tour the hotel provides at n/c and were glad we did, as these guides were more talkative and showed us a lot sea life and coral than in our prior year's excursion. Thanks Nikkoi and Cpt. Nemo! We recognized Dean, a manager at the main restaurant, and a few other staff who we also recognized from last year. The food was mostly great, only one night did they run out of one of the chocolate desserts before we could get to it at the buffet, but otherwise top notch meals. One night we had to book a "shared" table because all the smaller tables were booked, but that night ended up being the most fun, meeting and sharing travel stories with a bunch of other couples. We enjoyed lobster again at no additional cost, before the season ended March 31. The one night we took in some of the entertainment after dinner, the singer was very good.
I recommend this resort wholeheartedly.”

“Anyone who has ever visited Couples will understand why this was our 27th visit and our next is already booked for February. This resort just gets better with each passing year. So why do we keep returning? In no particular order, the beach and sea in Bloody Bay (where the hotel is located) cannot be beaten. Soft white sand and crystal clear warm water, and it's just a minute from your room. The au-naturel part of the beach has everything from a pop-up kitchen offering hot snack meals to a wonderful bar, and you meet the nicest people who want nothing more than an all over tan. The restaurants are all wonderful, and offer something different, and if you find it to warm to eat outside then both the Otaheite and Lychee are fully air-conditioned and if you have food allergies the chefs will come to your table and run through the options they can prepare for you. The bedrooms are wonderful and the large beds you just sink into. But best of all is the Padi dive shop with the wonderful Richard, Sugar, Byron and Courtney who offer a best in class and benchmark level of tuition and customer service. It's a credit to GM Caroline that if anything she has improved on the whole Couples experience after replacing Karen who moved to swept away, who herself also ran a superb operation. Couples is our second home and if you want I laid back chilled out holiday with first class experience then like us, book it now!”
Caribbean getaway

“Our trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, was absolutely wonderful from start to finish.
Getting there was easy, with a smooth connection through Panama. Once we arrived, Couples Negril turned out to be exactly the kind of resort we love: tropical, beachfront, spotless, and surrounded by crystal-clear water. We especially appreciated the refillable water bottles available throughout the resort—it was such a thoughtful and eco-friendly touch that kept us hydrated all day.
The resort offers several restaurants, including both buffet and à la carte options, and every meal we had was delicious. There was plenty of variety, and the quality of the food exceeded our expectations.
The beach is stunning, with calm, clear turquoise water that's perfect for swimming and relaxing. The warm sunshine every day made the experience even more enjoyable.
If you're looking for a peaceful Caribbean getaway with beautiful scenery, excellent food, and outstanding hospitality, Couples Negril is a fantastic choice. We love discovering destinations like this and would happily return!”

“Visited from the UK, booked an AI package with TUI.
Hotel was lovely, and most staff were friendly and helpful. We were initially put in a ground floor room but after sleeping on it and recovering from the journey and time difference, we asked to be moved to a higher floor as the ground floor rooms lack privacy. This was accommodated with no bother and our 2nd room was much better with a private balcony.
Service across the resort was great, we particularly appreciated Jevaine at the pool bar who brought us our drinks every morning!
No bother getting a sunbed by the pool although not every bed has an umbrella. The beach is yards away and the sea was warm and calm.
We were not fans of the food, we preferred the cold options at the buffet breakfast and the restaurants cater for the American market. We dined at the Ophitete restaurant twice, the food and service were good, but we've eaten better in UK restaurants. The dress code for men was a bit unnecessary, long trousers and closed shoes even though your legs are hidden under the tablecloth....it was a bit style over substance for us.
We were also disappointed that the advertised Thursday night beach dinners didn't happen for two Thursdays we were there. We were hoping for authentic Jamaican BBQs on the beach. We ate out off resort a couple of nights, Ivans being a particular highlight, absolutely stunning!
Entertainment was low key and it was quiet in the evening.
Rooms and bed were comfortable, cleaned daily and the mini bar was replenished to order each day, including wine and spirits.
The catamaran trip was good fun, although it was under motor not sailing, and we also enjoyed the hobie cats and the kayaks.
Jamaica is a wonderful island the couples negril is a great choice for a quiet relaxing break if you're not too fussed about authentic food.”

Friendly, helpful and caring. The holiday was the best, boat trips were very good. I could not possibly think of anything bad, as there was not. Will be returning as soon as possible.”
Good for peace, quiet, beach, pool. Don’t expect nightlife.

“Property:
Overall good. Recommend the buildings get a new coat of paint. Small property and you will figure out the layout quickly.
Bathrooms in the main building both upstairs and ground floor are clean and air conditioned. There is also an outdoor pool bathroom with a long barn sink and shower, but no A/C.
This is a quiet property. Day music was here and there and made the place feel nicer when it was playing. Be sure to bring your own tunes.
A/C — Bathrooms, Piano Bar, Lychee Restaurant, Otaheite Restaurant, Game Room, Photoshop. Everywhere else is open air.
WiFi — Spotty. When it works, it is great.
Evening Entertainment — I believe this fell short. Lots of resorts I had been to had nightly shows. Here seems like there is an event daily at 9pm. Most events are music band/singer. There was a fire show and steel drum show that was good.
Wild Life — not much of a problem here. No issues with mosquitos or anything that bites. Saw a lot of ants around the beach loungers as I presume guests spill drinks. Those ants leave you alone. There are about a dozen cats on the property. Most come out at night. I recommend leaving them alone as we were told they are fed daily.
Room:
Mini-split HVAC was great. It kept the room cool. Housekeeping times were inconsistent. I came back once at 4:30pm and the room was not made.
Bathroom: Rain shower could be re-conditioned. Knobs do not work real well and the temperatures adjust with delay. There are shutters in the shower that open to the outside. I am not sure why it was designed like this as an outside passerby can very easily push on the slats and open the shutters while you shower.
Restaurants:
I wish there were more theme restaurants. Since this property is not so big, I suppose it only allowed four eateries.
Food and drink quantity was not an issue. I wish there was more variety:
Cassava Terrace — mostly buffet. Some dinners were menu. Buffet items do not change much daily.
Otaheite — this is the only semi formal dinner. It was tasty.
Lychee — Asian themed. It was an honorable attempt at this cuisine.
Heliconia Grill — menu is decent and Pizza was reliable. Soft serve sometimes worked. Open fountain drinks was good. Evening table service depends on which server you get.
Veggie Bar — good salads and fruit juices.
Coffee Bar — overall good. Espresso not so strong.
Beach:
Nice calm beach as it was more like a cove, or a pocket beach, which really helped keep the water cold. Saw lots of starfish, schools of silverfish, and a baby stingray. It was nice the hotel provided floaters so you can lay out in the water. Served as a nice lounge cushion too.
Pool:
Small infinity pool and swim up bar. Loungers also have floaters too.
Towels:
Never enough. It’s a towel trade-in program. Two towels are in the room. You trade them out daily. They always run out of clean towels early afternoon.
Water Sports:
Hobie Cats, Hydro Bikes, Stand up Paddleboards, and PADI available. All aquatics staff very nice.
Catamaran Cruise:
Very nice hotel activity. It is actually a 2.5 hour cruise along the Negril West End volcanic coast to Pirate’s Cave. At Pirate’s Cave, you swim in and come out the other end. Definitely sign up for it.
Trading Places:
You can go to the sister resort, Swept Away, from 10am to 4pm.
Airport Shuttle:
The resort’s free shuttle was great both ways. It was about 1.5 hours each way from Montego Bay airport.
I recommend bringing a refillable water bottle. There is no bottled water, only filtered water stations.
Shout outs:
Shemarie — Activities, Water Aerobics
Dean — Wait staff
Neisha — Wait Staff
Dane — Wait Staff
Keisha — Bar Tender
O’Brien — Aquatics”
